  1. If both opponents had knowledge of the others powers, I'd bet on a surgebinder but not on a windrunner. A lightweaver making illusions of atium shadows is the only real way to win.
  2. Don't get a new iPad unless you want a tablet that stops being able to charge every few months. I have nothing good to say about them since they switched to a lightning plug. I had more service requests on that thing than my original xbox360.
  3. Wor
  4. I can't remember was there any mention of what harmonium does in the ars arcanum? Perhaps something is being done that way as well.
  5. I don't think they'd have to be. They respond to commands, I see no reason you couldn't send out a change in a similar way to a human army. You'd just need the human runners etc.
  6. Lifeless. You can order lifeless to fight in formations, and use various tactics. Koloss are pretty binary, sedated or berserk.
  7. Voidbringers all of them.
  8. I wonder... if unsheathed in the middle of a highstorm, would nightblood feed on its wielder or from the investiture in the air all around?
  9. It almost looks like it's made by modifying a fractal a little bit.
  10. Marsh. Imagine him pulling back his hood on roshar.
  11. Also, I wouldn't rule out him finding a way to twist the magic system so that he can store storm light like breath. He's possibly one of the smartest people in the cosmere. He figured out much of awaking, how to world hop, and I wouldn't put much past him.
  12. What's left to start the healing? Physical is gone, cognitive is gone, spiritual is gone. Night blood is a superweapon, countering it is probably impossible. It's almost as bad as balefire in wot. It erases things from existence, there is nothing to heal because it's all gone. Speaking of it when unsheathed of course.
  13. I assumed that Odium alone knows how Adonalsium shattered, and applies the same method.
  14. To reply with a quote. "Someone else moves us."
  15. I don't know. I think in the end the creation of Nightblood will go down as one of the most wonderous things in the cosmere. Nightblood is a terrible weapon, but something tells me that it might save everyone. If Nightblood does destroy on all 3 planes as mentioned, it's far more severe than anything else. Beheading, flaying and burning alive are all physical plane activities, the cognitive and spiritual are still there to provide a base from which regrowth can happen. Shardblades don't cut the physical if you are alive but instead cut the spiritual, leaving the cognitive and physical as a base for regrowth. Regrowth after all three are blasted seems to be like trying to multiple by 0. It's still going to come out zero.
  16. Ah but there is a good reason to include it even if he isn't a Worldhopper. TLR forbid ska such pursuits as musician. It's highlighting that Durn was innately skilled, yet denied a place in the world to practice that skill under TLR. Much of the storyline in Urteau was all about what society denies you. It doesn't have to have cosmere meaning to be meaningful.
  17. Actually the Parshendi focus fired other bridge crews because they weren't able to hit Bridge 4. Since bridge 4 was out in front other bridge crews saw the side carry and tried to do it. However they hadn't practiced it and were slow and uncoordinated with it. This lead to them getting focus fired and killed as well. I think it was said that only a few bridges made it to the chasm, instead of only a few bridges falling. That means the side carry killed many many bridgemen, just not from bridge four.
  18. Different type of traumatic. I'm not an amputee but I have severe nerve damage in one of my legs that makes it.... less than useful. The breaking is different. Physical loss is easier to mend.
  19. Pretty hard to tell. Even if she was mentally broken, being captured, sentenced to a death mine, and having your husband think you betrayed him, seems like it could break someone in and of itself.
  20. Unless Sazed is either directly fueling it. Marsh is alive because of ruin and seems to be preserving things so.....
  21. So I'm relistening to the audiobook for the final empire. (love audiobooks for while I'm getting housework done). TLR is mentioned to have a perfect memory. Now this could be just because of regular copperminds, but the way it's referenced with faces makes me think that perhaps compounding copper permanently imprints the memory to the persons brain.
  22. While true, I doubt TLR bothered with this. Why bother with it when you can compound wakefulness and never sleep again. I think you're right and that it could be done, I just doubt TLR bothered with it.
  23. From a pacifist point of view though. You are still killing intelligent life. The disregard for life other than human is part of the problem with our real life human culture that highlights one of the similarities between us and the Alethi. In all honesty, we aren't much different than the Alethi in many respects.
  24. Well I disagree for two reasons. First is the newspaper article that might have indicated a parshendi of some sort at a shard pool. The Parshendi are influenced by Odium. Also while Bleeder wanted people to be free of Harmony, I'm not convinced that was the dominant emotion running thru her. To me her dominant mindset seemed to be hatred, and that is the bigger reason to me. She seemed driven by hatred to me.
