This is a hard one. Ruin was definitely the antagonist, but he wasn't evil. The bad guy has evil connotations most of the time. That may be what's going on here.
-
Drop some others in water and you'd claim they explode too. They're just weaker.

Something tells me burning a chunk of Raysium to find out would be an exceptionally bad idea.

Give me your trust said the Aes Sedai.

See I don't agree with the it's not Odium because he's scared reasoning. He might not want a direct confrontation, as that would be kind of foolish. But what we're seeing isn't a direct confrontation. It's a death of a thousand cuts from pawns and feints. Odium to accomplish his plans needs to confront Sazed regardless of his fear. On a goofy note, don't forget the words of Master Yoda, "Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering." Odium is hatred.

"My first thought was, that he lied with every word." Either this is just random Hoid oddness. Or it's oddness betraying something nefarious that Hoid is up to. Yeah I don't trust Hoid.

I would say yes. It was Dominions big enemy and the one that killed him. Much more so than Devotion was. To the people that think that Odium is too scared of Sazed to be Trell, he's not creating a direct confrontation. He's using pawns and diversions to give Sazed a slow death.

I've been thinking about this, with how they made bombs out of the stuff as well, and considered them quite destructive. It can't be a group 1 metal for this. It has to be something else as these metals do explode in water, however the explosion is quite weak compared to any other explosive. Primitive TNT is better. This makes the ending of the book questionable if ettmetal is a group 1 metal.

I think it's Kelsier's own body. We know TLR could heal from anything thru compounded gold. Spook and Kel's experiments lead to the bands of mourning so we know that they definitely learned how to hack feruchemy and allomancy very very well. So get Kelsier's bones, Place a spike for the tether and one for feruchemical gold. Strap on a full gold metal mind that is usable by anyone, and let the process go. Kelsier now has his own body back.

[MISTBORN: SECRET HISTORY SPOILERS] Cognitive Coherence
Charononus replied to TheOneKEA's topic in Mistborn
IIRC hasn't an unknown shard visited Threnody but didn't stay? If that is so I'd say that the shard put something in motion where shades create other shades with some form of investiture. This would likely be why the shades are so strong in the physical realm, they have a lot of extra umph. My guess would be it was a plan of Odium, that was thwarted or at least delayed when he was imprisoned. -
True, I admit that one does have me. I'm still biased against the definition of the intent though.
-
Well to be honest I'm biased against Honor anyways. To break it down into a DnD alignment system I'd say Honor in general could be represented as lawful. I'm inclined to believe that's a horrible mindset as sometimes the rules must be broken.

Lol yeah. I remember seeing a little 4'9" woman have her purse snatched. It didn't go well for the large teen that tried to do it as it turned out she was some high degree blackbelt. The woman might have been 90 lbs soaking wet and and she put a 200lbs teen on his back in about half a second.

So I discounted the letter that you quoted in my above thoughts because it's in theory written by Hoid. To me if Hoid was up to no good would mean that you couldn't trust anything he wrote to be factual. However the WoB that you found seems to say that my crazy idea is wrong. I still don't trust Hoid though. He's up to something and I don't think it will be good. Maybe I'm just channeling my inner Vin too much with this.

This is honestly what I thought was going on with it.
-
I'm still 100% convinced that Trell is Odium. It just fits better imo with the works I've read.

Does anyone else love Sterris now? [Bands Spoilers]

Isn't that normal? -
Has there ever been a WoB that it really was Odium that killed Aona and Skai and splintered their shards? Because I just had a crazy idea form in my head. Odium was framed, and Hoid was in fact the one that did it. Trying to be vague but a little spoilery here.

So Ruin and Preservation are the shards that we know best. We've seen others in some other novels but we I think have the best insight into these two so far. Anyways it seems to me that shards pretty much will always twist their vessels into immorality if they are a single shard. Fuzz after all was blissfully happy about the success of the Lord Ruler because he was unchanging. Ruin would be considered a need process in moderation but once again became evil because of taking things too far. It seems to me that every shardworld has had problems based on the intent of that shard being magnified too much. Warbreaker spoilers Stormlight Elantris Now compare this to Sazed Mistborn Era 2 Just wanted to see what others think.

I haven't really trusted Hoid yet. In my mind he could be an enemy.

[Bands/Secret History Spoilers] Cosmeric Confirmations

In AoL Wax drew on the mists a bit it seems and got a light pewter effect. This could have been the earing but it always made me wonder. -
There was a bit of time that passeed iirc. He just went back for them. It'd be fairly easy for him to have done so.
