There are so many things she could have noticed that would have been slightly off about Hoid. She might not have been able to pick out the reason, but I think people should be uneasy about Hoid. He's practically immortal, has lots of magic from other worlds, and is well a little off.

Sandersons Agents of 17th Shard
Charononus replied to TwelfthOfSnackTime's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Demoux is the world hopper not Yomen. Season 3 was showing on ABC all fall on Tues nights in the US. If you are waiting for season 3 on something like netflix, that probably won't be until next August or September. -
Where do the Heralds fit in with the Cosmere's Theology
Charononus replied to Radiant Returned's topic in Stormlight Archive
Pretty sure that it's been said that they're immortal. -
Best Twinborn Combinations (Excluding Compounding)
Charononus replied to DeadFencer's topic in Mistborn
Just want to mention that as a thought experiment the blow your own sails idea has been around a while. It wouldn't work. The force you exerted by having your "breath" hit the sail would be counteracted by the force of it leaving your mouth, leaving equal forces in both directions and no changes in movement.- 111 replies

Pushing and pulling seem to use very basic physics. Force = mass x acceleration When pushing on a bullet the acceleration change is greater than pushing on a bullet that is just sitting on the ground, but it's mass is such that it doesn't really matter. Now in the scifi setting if an idiot mistborn tried to push on something fired out of some kind of magnetic accelerator cannon, I would predict bad things happening to the mistborn.

I'm curious, what language?

I wonder, hemalurgy is from ruin, but ruin is from adonalsium, so hemalurgy might have existed pre-shattering. If it did, the danger could be something yet unseen that helped create the conditions of the shattering.

Huh? I don't understand what you mean.

I assumed the reason for Szeth saying that is that the plate would leach stormlight from him, the same way as it did from Kaladin when he put a helmet on his fist in the arena.

Stormwarden script is basically l33t speak

Do you know what chapter that was? I'd like to reread it before venturing an opinion. -
Adonalsium was the dark one.

I agree with a lot of what you said. Especially iron. I keep wanting to see what a pewter / iron twinborn could do. Burn pewter for strength and durability and increase weight right before they punch or jump into something for a massive increase to the force delivered.

Which was not who Sazed was though. I don't see the original Sazed as being able to make decisions with that kind of cold calculation. I really believe that Sazed is now essentially dead. He now is his shard's intent, just as Ati was essentially dead and all that existed was ruin. Now look at the chaos all thru the story. Economic problems, crime, riots, etc. While not all of these are directly caused by Harmony, his actions have set the stage for all of them in a meaningful way. His actions speak of discord, remember that Wax puts his earing in and meditates most days. He could have directly spoken to Wax of the need for him to go home. Wax is a fairly reasonable person, and I feel pretty confident that he would have gone home if his god asked. No need for games.

I think it's part of stormlight.

I'd say he's Ruin light. He actually ruins more than he has to to preserve things. For instance we know that in any action he takes, both shards want to play a role. So he wants to stop the activities in the W&W era stories. So he sets in motion events to ruin the bad guys and preserve the society he wants. However, because of the methods he employs he ruins both Bleeder and Wax. His halves are not in harmony.

The spirit of Vin lives on! In all seriousness though, I don't think he's a villain exactly, but his goals may not line up, and he will work on those goals and is quite honest about that.

I wonder if you could spike someone into a state where they become a biological nightblood, feeding off investiture and destroying things instantly on all three realms when they strike them.

Pretty sure that Hoid's biased statements make it seem like there wasn't much of a difference even before they joined together though. Also as far as a herald fighting a shardholder, I don't see it. I look at it akin to giving an ant a fancy sword and telling to destroy a nuclear attack sub.

I don't trust Sazed after SoS anyways. I think discord is very apt.

If Kelsier decided Elend needed to die, I don't know if anything would be able to stop it. He executed a plan that while it required his death, killed a god and an empire. Pretty sure what Kelsier wants to die, dies.

Yup which to me says that the spren that are around the greatshells are doing something with oxygen and stormlight as well as gravity.

I want to see allomantic pewter with an Iron mind. Toughen up your body with a pewter flare, get going at a full speed run and tap jump at a wall while taping all the weight you can to become a human wrecking ball. It'd be the ultimate thug.- 111 replies

Where's WalDo: The Kandra Worldhopper
Charononus replied to Kobold King's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Yeah Galladon, doesn't need any tricks he's already immortal. The other guy I'm not sure on since I haven't seen white sand yet which is where I thought I read he was from. Hopefully when the graphic novels come out we can learn more. If he's already immortal on his own, we might have to assume Sazed did something for Demoux. This doesn't have to be Kandra, but something has obviously happened to Demoux to let him live on. -
It's not just gravity. The greatshells are closest to crustaceans, which have very simple respiration systems. Something the size of the greatshells wouldn't be able to get enough oxygen without help.

Where's WalDo: The Kandra Worldhopper
Charononus replied to Kobold King's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Unless he's alive still, much much later, because he was changed into a Kandra by Sazed. Something has to have happened to give Demoux long life and this could be it. He could now be DeMoux.
