  1. Super Aluminum hat wearer might think this suggests that Leras wasn't a person... #dragon

    Classic Trell

I always read it as Brandon smirkingly writing a "religion" into a book based on all of us crazies constantly asking him questions and many of the answers returned are "Read and Find Out." I'm with you on this one. This is my biggest hang up with the "Trell is Autonomy" line of reasoning. IS that right up Hoid's Alley? He is a smart-chull surely, but do we see him making large changes to a culture in the cosmere for no other purpose than having a laugh at the effects he can have over a thousand years? I don't see him exerting that kind of influence. He's always either a cameo level innocuous activity or much more purposeful in directly and overtly nudging specific individuals and things that will then leverage great change. We see him chatting up a wedding party, but don't see him interacting with anyone important. He gives some information to Kelsier that could have been gotten through other means. He's there to meet Vin, but she bugs out. Innocuous. or overt like making sure Wax gets to places he needs to be safely without the Set getting him. Stormlight Spoilers
  3. Are we sure that Harmony isn't fueling Marsh's atium compounding with some of that Ruin in some fashion that isn't creating enough atium for spikes? I mean, my assumption has always been that Harmony doesn't want to create more atium because he knows how powerful it is in hemallurgy. Also why he's been controlling the spread of hemallurgic knowledge for 300 years.
  4. Many modern officers will scream at a subordinate for no salute when on a home base, but they will throw a screaming FIT if they are saluted in a combat zone where snipers can see someone salute them. It paints them as a target. Not saying this is it, but it can explain a bit of it.
  5. How does Kaladin's honorblade change to a spear? He wills it to be so, right? and the Nahel bond responds?
  6. WoB to me in Houston last month confirms that all Shards can communicate to some extent with a spiked individual.
  7. Preservation & Ruin created HUMANS on Scadrial. I don't think they created the planet itself. Fine distinction.
  8. That was a given. I simply meant that if Team Sanderson was concerned about the initial capital to put into the making of these Soonie Pup Popple amalgams, crowdfunding could assist with that.
  9. Other than the fact that gasoline provides far more horsepower than peanut oil...
  10. If there are further concerns about the enterprise, we could certainly discuss the concept of a 17th Shard-coordinated kickstarter/indiegogo/crowdfund. iIt could certainly be done.
  11. Another facet y'all haven't discussed is that Windrunners (and all radiants) are bound by their ideals. Not saying this would be easy, but if Kelsier (or the Mistborn/Twinborn in question) has prior knowledge of his opponent and wished to "fight dirty", you only have to place a Windrunner in a place where they aren't aligned with the third ideal (or any ideal, perhaps) and whoops, Radiant loses abilities and it's game over man. Game. Over. So that's another limiting factor that might swing the pendulum toward the Scadrian over the Rosharan. But it's also difficult to fight with a glass knife if your arm has been severed by an honorblade, so lots of the points above have good merit.
  12. SO, um, consider giving the fella a link? I did the search as you recommended it. Due to the Dark Alley being in user signatures, it returns 271 threads and there's no way to tell which topic you're pointing him to... (I'm new here too and I can't figure out what there dastardly Dark Alley rogues are about either.)
  13. not noticeably, but remember that Vin's burning of trace metals was barely noticeable. I'm not saying it's likely, but at the same time I'd like to think Demoux was more than a Seer misting if he joined the 17th Shard and began world hopping.

did you mean immoral or immortal?
  15. thats just what it said on the blurb on the post with the cover art preview.
  16. We know at a minimum he was a Seer. Do we see proof he wasn't Mistborn?
  17. i can't explain the height change (lifts in shoes like Tom Cruise?)But the gravelly voice might be due to spikes interfering with their airway or vocal chords The bloodlust is certainly due to Ruin's influence.
  18. clarifying. Anything inside a cadmium bubble moves slower relative to time outside the bubble. It could work as a stasis field, but wouldn't give advantage in storing youth. if you have zero days of age stored, begin to fill at 50% and drop a cadmium bubble bubble for an hour outside but 1 minute inside, you don't leave with 30 minutes of youth, you leave with 30 seconds of youth. But that just makes the math easy. You probably can't store at more than a 75% of normal rate or such. The effect would be negligible compared to the cadmium bubble or compounding other effects.
  19. “But I don't want to go among mad people,” Alice remarked. “Oh, you can't help that,” said the Cat: “we're all mad here. You're mad. I'm mad."
  20. Switched my username to something a bit more cosmere-related.

Cadmium. Is there any specific reason you chose the metal that slows yourself down as your username?

  21. So his great, great, great granddaddy was Goradel. Doesn't stop his great, great grandma from being Terris and allowing him to be Twinborn. and furthering the, "Everyone saw that coming" thought, it's unlikely that Brandon would make the (Interim) Governor a kandra again. He's done that one twice just in SoS, so you're probably right. Aradel's probably just old and doesn't want to stop conning.
  22. The only issue is that if someone searches the wiki from the top box for , it takes them to that subsection of and starts in on spoilers for the end of SoS without the big pink SoS spoiler box visible. See what I mean?
  23. Suggest that in the unlikely circumstance that there is another "Village" that is generically named in a future book, this one becomes The Village (Elendel) for purposes of Disambiguation. Until I saw this was decided, I was going to suggest "Village (Elendel)" as a possible name without ambiguity.
  24. and yet another possibility is that there are some instruments that are not played in mixed company because they do require the safehand. and then you could hypothesize about modifying various instruments to be played via pedals instead of strummed or fingered by the safehand... but that would still be difficult since most right handed people are more dexterous with their left fingers. Think about guitar players. Fret with left, strum or pick with right.
  25. If you're looking for where Lopen could have Broken, don't overlook the fact that once upon a time someone CUT OFF HIS FREAKING ARM. I've never lost an arm, but I assume that could be traumatic.
