Knowing that all musical pursuits are classified as female in Vorin countries, how do they manage to play an instrument using only one hand? Percussion might be possible, but pretty much any other musical instrument I know requires the fingers on both hands to play decently.

*random stagedive from bystander* Some notes: Mental Stability, I feel there's some overlap here with Electrum, though not completely. Light, this is a fun one, but you could expand it to the other senses, for hearing you could hear lower and higher frequencies, for instance. Scent, taste and touch are harder to imagine. Empathy, overlap with Duralumin, though again, not completely. Density, I have some issues with this one. When storing density you become both more fragile and flexible? Can those two even happen simultaneously? I'd suggest that when storing you become more flexible, and when tapping more rigid and resistant, but when a certain limit of outside pressure is surpassed, you splinter. Skill, ferrings are called Experts. Presence, overlap with Duralumin. This is a fun project Edro, keep up with it!

Best Twinborn Combinations (Excluding Compounding)
Eagle of the Forest Path replied to DeadFencer's topic in Mistborn
Actually, you can have it right now, since I've hit a bit of a block. I'm basing it on how both powers can support one another, but that is pretty impossible for some combinations (A-gold/F-iron) The ones in italic are based on what I believe about certain powers, but can't substantiate, for instance I believe that Allomantic Aluminum might be able to drain a metalmind, so I gave those names based on getting rid of the stored attibute.- 111 replies

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that strength in Feruchemy determines how fast you can store an attribute. So a regular Feruchemist could store x units of eyesight in an hour and TLR could store x units in 15 minutes. Which makes little sense, come to think of it, because that would mean the lower limits of the percentage you can store are variable, but there are attributes which any (full) Feruchemist can store at (near) 100% (weight), and other attributes which are stored instantaneously (memory). Another possible way for levels of Feruchemic power to express themselves is the density at which a Feruchemist can pack an attribute in his metalmind. So TLR could store 1000 years of age in a pair of thin atium bracelets, while an average Feruchemist might have needed a dozen pounds of metal to achieve the same (ignoring how he managed to store so much age in the first place).

Parshendi + Gemheart? (WoR-Spoiler)
Eagle of the Forest Path replied to Shaukan-son-Hasweth's topic in Stormlight Archive
I strictly speaking have no opinion about Parshendi gemhearts, but there is something I've noticed concerning the KR. If you check which Herald is patron of a KR order and then look up where the Herald is in the table of the Ten Essences, the eye color of the order is the same (or at least similar) as the gem linked to that essence. We've only seen 2 of the orders' (eye-)colors mentioned so far: the Windrunners(blue) and the Stonewards(amber) but if you check... Windrunners -> Jezrien -> Zephyr -> Sapphire Stonewards -> Talenel -> Talus -> Topaz (gem with a lot of possible colors, but amber/orange is a common variant) The colors also correspond to the orders' icons on the color version of the KR chart, so there's something there at least, if only predictions to what eye colors the other Radiants' will have. However, to get back on topic, I think it's possible that the Nahel bond, besides changing eye color, also turns the Radiant's eyes into something similar to a gem, making them more capable of holding Stormlight. Possible connection with Skaa's Shardworld/Essence theory too. Edit: Not very likely, considering Parshedi go psychotic if you so much as move one of their bodies. -
I think he does something funky with Identity and Connection, as Voidus says, then increases his age with Atium, thereby gaining the memories he would have at that age, stores those in copper, then 'releases' Atium, Aluminum and Duralumin, then taps his copper to regain the knowledge of where he needs to go. This theory is complete hogwash and more than half a joke on my part.

Hoid/Wit - Bunny and Chick Story??
Eagle of the Forest Path replied to Shardfan13's topic in Stormlight Archive
Don't know I can agree with that. The way I see it, most of the time between the Shattering of Adonalsium and the Final Ascension, Preservation was either impotent due to Ruin blocking his power or mindless because of the creation of the Well of Ascension. That is not to say another Shard could not be responsible, and we haven't yet seen some (7) of those. If one of those were called 'Mercy', for instance... or 'Discovery'... those could be likely candidates also. Also, for a general downtrodden refugee, fleeing to Roshar is kind of like moving to Kansas in the middle of hurricane season... which never stops... and then on top of that, it also turns into Iwo Jima circa 1945, over and over again. It's still possible, but those refugees must have been filling their chromiumminds when they picked a planet. -
Okay, so I finally did the obvious thing and looked up "Steel Alphabet" on the coppermind.net, and I deplore my previous state of ignorance. Now I'm just left wondering when the Allomantic and Feruchemic symbols started diverging, I doubt it was during the Final Empire period (not the book), since TLR tried to squash all knowledge about Feruchemy, so having a set of symbols split off during that time wouldn't make sense, and they are very different from the Steel alphabet to have evolved in the 300 years after the Final Ascension. (considering how little the Steel alphabet appears to have changed during that period) I'd just like to make a final comment that the ancient Terris symbols look very suited to Hemalurgy IMO, since they seem like they were written in blood (possibly using one's thumb, or someone else's thumb).

The Aplications of Forgery
Eagle of the Forest Path replied to Divine0Flame's topic in Cosmere Discussion
What if the forger had been to Nalthis to buy a load of Breaths, do you think could it be possible to use those to forge some other abilities like allomancy? Because the WoB seems to imply that the only thing preventing this is that Forgery can't draw a lot of investiture. Systems like allomancy and feruchemy use a lot of Kinetic investiture, but what makes them function in the first place: the Inert (possibly Innate, unclear source) investiture, seems like it would be about the same amount as a Breath. An Elantrian Forger (incredibly unlikely, I know, but go with it for a bit) might be able to blend his AonDor with Forgery and use that to create any other abilities he fancies. I overlooked something earlier, the limited amount of investiture isn't the only thing preventing a Forger from giving themselves Allomancy (or something else), the Forgery has to be believable to even work, and given the genetic prerequisites for a lot of systems, that would be really difficult to pull off. I suppose they could forge something to be a Hemalurgic spike, though, which might work even better, because unlike soulstamps, they don't need to be refreshed every day. But they do come with other drawbacks, like having Ruin or Harmony in your head (and a big spike in your body). -
TLR's Ascension? Did not know that. Is there a source on this somewhere? I do know that the Allomantic symbols evolved from the Feruchemic symbols, so following that logic, if the symbols from HoA are in fact Allomantic, it's quite possible there aren't any Hemalurgic symbols. (which would make me sad TBH). On the bright side, it would allow attempting to work out exactly how the Terris metal symbols morphed into the Steel Alphabet.

Creatron? Because of the 'building blocks of creation'? (I thought about 'creat-ion', but that would become so confusing)

I think so, chapter headings in the Hero of Ages (at least in the UK paperback edition) EDIT: but we don't know which symbol for which metal.

Normal Copper's indeed entirely cognitive, but if you're compounding it with Allomancy, the memories would (should?) be supplied by the power of Preservation, which is mainly located in the spiritual realm IIRC.

Nightwatcher Boon/Bane (Game)

Granted, you now have an army of miniature parshendi. After the first high storm, they all assume stormform, become uncontrollable and turn on their former master, you manage to escape because they all have tiny legs. This isn't your curse yet, just the natural consequences of your boon, your curse is everlasting poison oak. I wish you hadn't skipped over the last 95 pages of the thread, cause I'm still stuck without my realmatic awareness. -
I think the first one is the Stormfather, the second one I have no idea, though the many legs make me think some kind of chasmfiend or other greatshell.

Best Twinborn Combinations (Excluding Compounding)
Eagle of the Forest Path replied to DeadFencer's topic in Mistborn
I like the idea of a Coinshot-Archivist twinborn (I'm calling it a Courier until Brandon gives us a real name . I'm working on a complete list, just for fun). I imagine them storing confidential messages in a coppermind, going on a delivery flying on steelpushes, retrieving the memory and telling the recipient, then storing the memory again and destroying the coppermind. (their copperminds look like credit cards engraved with the recipients name and address, maybe smaller) Another fun one would be a Seeker-Connector (temp. name: Stalker). Store spiritual connection to make people unaware of you, then follow your target with bronze.- 111 replies

Someone definitely needs feruchemical copper so they can remember where all the WoBs are, maybe in combination with allomantic bendalloy because they'd get flooded with PM requests. I haven't been a member for a month yet, so I don't know people here well enough yet to say upon who I would bestow this mixed blessing.
