All Shards can fuel all systems. Ruin is best at fueling Hemalurgical Allomancy, and apparently fueling another Shard's system expends power in a way they prefer to avoid.

Windrunners were in the Highstorm visions. Their Plate glows blue.

Inquisitor using Electrum in Book 1? *spoilers*

But they wouldn't have been looking for electrum. They didn't know it was Allomantically sound. -
Hoid was congratulating friends of his on their wedding. He might also have been doing something sinister, but the only thing he was doing at the wedding was attending.

They got some Feruchemical powers partway through WoA, then went completely spike-happy by HoA.

Inquisitor using Electrum in Book 1? *spoilers*
name_here replied to DariusJenai's topic in Mistborn
One point in favor of the electrum theory: The only Atium in Kredik Shaw after the death of the Lord Ruler was the Atium in his bracers. If there had been enough Atium for the Inquisitors to use it with regularity, they would presumably have a significant quantity on hand that Vin would have recovered for later use. -

Huh. And here I'd been thinking it simply appeared to lose kinetic energy because of the change in apparent velocity caused by time dilation. So, does it lose kinetic energy if it gets cancelled out by a Cadmium bubble instead of leaving through the edge? I mean, I suppose that if the bubble drops it loses kinetic energy or otherwise dropping a bubble while moving would cause you to go splat, but bubble interactions are less clear.

The Well Of Ascension Chapters 28-30

"The whole "main character, driven by thousand year old prophecies, vanquishes evil and saves the day" thing has been done to death already. I'm hoping for something fresh. Something exciting!" Without going into details, I can say that there is something fresh and exciting. Pay very close attention to the epigraphs and the rubbing text. -
Nah, Radiants use Stormlight to fuel their abilities, although it's boosted by saying the oaths and apparently requires being bonded to a spren. Witness every time Kaladin inhales Stormlight and Jasnah's Soulcasting. Now, a Radiant who had filled up on Stormlight might be able to power gemless Plate just by wearing it, but it seems more likely to me that they'd keep it full of gems as an emergency storage if nothing else. Come to think of it, there's been no indication that Shardplate loses Stormlight when intact, no mention of worrying about the charge level of the gems before a fight. I wonder if it's a containment vessel for Stormlight, and would prevent it from draining away from its wearer. The Windrunner in the vision certainly seemed pretty talkative considering he was charged up on Stormlight and in the middle of a fight, and it drains away with exhalations.

I first heard about him through WoT, but that's not why I read the rest of his books. My brother picked up Mistborn off at college and I eventually got around to reading it. Then I picked up Warbreaker at my school libary. Then I got a Nook and proceeded to buy the rest of the trilogy. Then Elantris. Then Way of Kings, then Alloy of Law.

In that situation, the momentum of the system is unchanged but the energy is increased.

So, let's take a closer look at the experiement. Constants: All measurements were made with callipers of .1 inch percision All writing and speaking occured in Alethi All measurements were made on a flamespren, which appeared to be the same one across all experiments. There was also a control flamespren All recordings were made by Ardents, with no observed evidence of Radient powers or Stormlight consumption Writing performed on ink and paper No measurements were taken between when one was made and recorded Results: Writing values within the range that had not been directly measured had no detectable effect When a measurement was written, further measurements were identical to within the percision of the instrument. The control was uneffected Measurements spoken out loud had no detectable effect Writing a measurement from a room where direct observation of the spren was impossible had the same effect as writing while looking at it directly Erasing a measurement caused the Spren to begin fluctuating again Still unknown: Does this work in other languages? What happens when you take two measurements and record them both? Does the percision of the instrument matter? What happens if your instrument is wildly inaccurate?

External Physical Allomancy seems to be a straight-up action-reaction pair system, but if you model the planet as a closed system which does not include Preservation it violates conservation of energy. But not momentum.

The Identity of the Man Kaladin Killed

Well, if he was working with Amaram, he's probably not a Ghostblood. At a guess, he's some sort of moderately-powerful brightlord who was unhappy with the New Alethi Order, over and above any secret society memberships. Could be he's Sadeas's civilian administrator. -
It's demonstrably the case that Terrismen could possess Allomancy via Lerasium and Hemalurgy and nobles could get Feruchemcy by Hemalurgy, so that's hardly conclusive. It does mean Kandra are not natively Feruchemists, but we already assumed that.

Theory: There are soulcasting fabrials, but the "high end" ones are all fake. It's mentioned that the lower-end soulcasters can only manage one transformation, and fabrials all seem to do one thing. There might also be ones that can manage three transformations that are essentially three normal fabrials welded together and are what Jasnah's fake is modelled off. Tapping the gemstone to produce an effect is essentially in line with most fabrial interfaces. Alternately, the high-end "fabrials" are actually what I'll call Shardcasters, and come from wherever the Blade and Plate come from.

No, she did. All the members of the Skaa underground did. Breaking and entering in broad daylight works poorly. That being said, she used her Luck a lot during the day. It could be related to her strength, giving her a limited tolerance for impurities. Plus, Luthandel was sited to have high concentrations of reasonably-pure allomantic metals in the groundwater on purpose.

There's a number of oddities with Shardplate that can't be adequately explained by fabrials. Firstly, it is far more diverse in its effects than any other fabrial, with the possible exception of high-end soulcasters, which cannot be definitely confirmed to exist at present. Secondly, it regenerates. The half-shards do not, in addition to not doing anything except reinforcing the shield in a manner similar to Grandbows Thirdly, and most importantly, there is what happens when it gets split. When Dalinar loses his gauntlet, he notes that if he can completely regenerate his gauntlet before the Parshendi generate a full suit, the lost gauntlet will become inert. Given the manner in which fabrials function, either it should be possible to split up plate and grow multiple sets or it should be impossible to generate a new copy of an intact portion, depending on whether you can bind new spren or not.

The Well Of Ascension Chapters 24-26

Vin actually noticed Zane using bronze, he just doesn't know she can see through his copper-cloud. -
The primary issue I see with presuming he compounded age directly is that it would require he burn significant quantities of atium on a fairly regular basis. Which is a pretty neat trick when you realize there were six beads in the entirety of Kredik Shaw, all in his bracers. And he couldn't draw on the atium in the Kandra storehouse because his entire elaborate master plan required that it stayed there. Compounding other storages gets around that problem, though. I doubt he compounded nicrosil itself, because it's got a milder version of the same problem, but he could get all the iron and brass he wanted, fill his nicrosilminds with those, transfer the result to his atiumminds, and tap them.
