Shalash is actually perfect, I think. When the symmetry thing is being explained, Kasbal says Shallan is one character off from being perfect, and this plus some other names that include Sh lead me to believe that the Alethi writing system uses a single character for the 'sh' sound.

The Well Of Ascension Chapters 57-59+Epilogue

I did, in fact, tell you that this was not one of those things where it turns out that the main character is the fulfillment of the ancient prophecy. -
I just find it extremely implausible that TLR would go to such incredibly extreme lengths to keep his Inquisitors from knowing where the Atium stockpiles are and then undermine the whole plan by handing them bags of the stuff. He apparently set up their standard recruit profile to make absolutely sure they wouldn't recruit anyone who knew about the Kandra stockpiles, and after going to that sort of effort it seems unlikely he'd throw it away. Especially since there are no instances I can recall where the Inquisitors used Atium against someone who didn't have their own, and thus Atium would actually be distinguishable from Electrum and more useful. It seems far more likely that he recruited Atium mistings from the nobility for the other Cantons and avoided giving out Atium spikes because then he'd have to give Atium to the one group he most wants to keep it away from. Handing Atium to them would just be asking for Ruin to nudge them into building up a hidden personal stash "for an emergency".

Mild note: Warbreaker appears to use a phonetic alphabet of some description outside of Artisan's script, while Roshar's glyphs are pictographs. It is thus highly unlikely, although not impossible, that both writing systems are descended from the same source and that Shash is a character in both of them and the original language. However, it is quite possible that both uses are derived from Shalash.

I'd go for Zinc, since it seems like storing mental speed would be an excellent counter to boredom.

The Well Of Ascension Chapter 54-55

It most definately does. However, Vin doesn't flare tin as often as pewter. It's alluded to back in Kelsier's big Allomancy infodump, when he mentions that flaring metals does "strange" things to the body. -
The Well Of Ascension Chapter 54-55

Hijacking Koloss is a one-time thing and there isn't particularly much of a limitation on how many can be effected, apparently. Also, Vin's continued remaining on her feet despite pewter dragging is a result of the minor running theme of Vin being terrible at noticing that she is doing something in any way unusual. See, she's been flaring pewter sufficiently often that the effects don't entirely go away when she runs out. It's why she was fine on ~4 hours of sleep a night, even though pewter doesn't normally let people do that. If she flared pewter even more often, there would be hideous and possibly fatal consequences to stopping. -
The funny thing about that count is that I'm pretty sure they relied on Gold(F) for doing things like surviving getting knifed in the throat or peppered with arrowheads. Either only the 11 spikers had those or this guy was created post-TLR. I am pretty much certain that not a single Inquisitor had an Atium spike prior to Ruin hijacking them, and they used Electrum instead.

Analysis of the Prelude to the Stormlight Archive

He does not. But I wouldn't read too much into it. Nohanden mentioned honorspren, and that vision definitely predates the prelude. -

The Recreance was millenia ago unless I'm terribly confused on the timeline. -

I always figured Honor went for the Oathpact because Odium is "The most terrible and dangerous of all the Shards." and Honor had to make some kind of deal or end up like Devotion and Domination. It's worth noting that Honor has been dead for millennia but Roshar is not being trashed by Odium. I mean, we've seen what happens when a Shard goes all out on a planet in Mistborn. The Highstorms aren't remotely in the same league. Plus I feel like Roshar has always had Highstorms, and definitely for long enough that people have no recollection whatsoever of a time when they didn't exist. So I figure there was a non-interference deal that cut both ways. While all the honorblades are in the possession of the Heralds, Odium couldn't kill Honor. While at least one honorblade is in the possession of a Herald, Odium can't go nuts on Roshar. -

"Also, if just one spike is enough to make a man as powerful as Zane, why Inquisitors have three?" Actually, Marsh said he had eleven spikes, as I recall. Zane was a Mistborn before spiking, though. -
I note that they all have AdjectiveNoun epithets. This format reminds me of the Returned from Warbreaker, but the Heralds have the same format and Vin, Spook, and Elend receive the same general format except all of them have spaces. So it seems to be a pretty common naming scheme for religiously important people in the Cosmere. Also, the hyphens have one syllable on one side and more on the other. I totally assumed the Black Piper was the same as the Black Fisher.

Alethkar was apparently the most militarized of the Silver Kingdoms and provided a plurality of the Knights, so they might just have wanted to avoid giving them too much influence by sticking HQ in the main recruiting area.

I expect that they have a much more plentiful supply of Tineyes than other Misting types. Tineyes burn their metals more frequently and for longer durations than anyone other than Smokers, who are more difficult to detect. What they're probably really short on are Gold Ferrings/Keepers, Electrum Mistings, and possibly Coinshots if they double up on steel charges.

The Oathgates must consume some amount of Stormlight, probably either based on mass, based on discrete objects, or simply require a constant level that drains away over time, which is functionally the same as costing money. The principles of their operation is unknown, but presumably they also require gemstones to construct. And the Radiants do have things to spend money on besides expanding the network. The main reason to suspect they're linked pairs is twofold: One, the only known fabrials that allow any interaction over a distance come in pairs, and the only known nonfabrial objects with magical power are the Shards, and they are pretty much indestructable. So if they're fabrials they are probably paired, and if they're like the Shards they would probably remain active. Second, Urithiru spent at least some portion of history inaccessable by land, so if the Oathgates were capable of linking to any other gate there would be no reason whatsoever to ship goods through Urithiru. So it must have been either legally mandated or a practical consequence of the nature of the network. I generally work from the perspective that the Radiants were basically decent people who at least believed whatever they did was the best way to help people, so if the Oathgates are set up to require people to move through Urithiru there's probably some decent technical, administrative, or strategic reason for them to do so. There could simply be a tariff office in Urithiru that handled the entire price of the journey at once, and then they wouldn't need to bother with transferring tolls and keeping/updating multiple sets of records.
-
It could be it was simply more practical to have a city square in Urithiru containing Oathgates to all the major cities than to set up a network allowing people to move between major cities without passing through Urithiru. After all, if they operate in linked pairs, which seems logical, you would need an additional gate for each city you wanted to travel to directly from your home city, while moving through Urithiru would require only one gate in each of the other cities. A distributed network would probably cost more, and the Radiants apparently possessed a finite quantity of money. It wouldn't add all that much to the trip time, it would greatly simplify toll collection, and it would also make it far easier to monitor traffic. Basically, imagine a section of the city that's like an airport terminal, except instead of airplanes there are teleporters.

The Well Of Ascension Chapters 41-42

"Kwaan had super good memory. So good, if fact, that he didn't even need metal mind to memorize a sheet in an instant. Great. And he felt the need to write this because...?" That is actually a critically important detail for reasons that will become clear. -
I think they do exploit momentum nonconservation sometimes, but it's a good way to break your arm unless you are a Keeper.

Pre-Death quotes at the beginning of each chapter???

It is a mystery. Finish the book, and all will be made slightly more clear. But not much more. -
The Well Of Ascension Chapter 37-38

Actually, Vin kind of has a point for keeping Duralumin secret. After all, she's the only person on their team who can burn it, and spreading the knowledge could eventually lead to other Mistborn realizing that more metals exist. -
I suspect it would give the burner the "phantom" metals Vin and Elend got from burning the mists.

Best Brandon character *spoilers*

I liked Elend too, actually. My favorite for just the first book, but Vin beat him out over the rest of the trilogy. -
I think inheritance goes down direct male lines, so the last living descendent of the old king would become the new king no matter how many generations (and thus sept positions) were in between. At least, that's what I got from the chapter where they were discussing the illegitimate heir possibility in the first place. It's still odd, though. A bottom-level Kkoloss had a stronger power than a Guard, right? He'd have to have been pretty incompetent naturally for even Guard powers to only boost him to average.
