We don't even know if a Spren could become a Shardblade in the Cognitive Realm. Anyway It's possible the Blade would work differently...maybe cutting only the physical or some other weirdness

"Upending an Entire Mercantile Ecosystem"
Yata replied to Obnoxiousspren's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I always assumed it was: - Slavery (people with a little but possible chance to Snap into Allomancers) - Atium, also if I don't see the gaining in doing this as the Atium would be useless for almost every standard uses (remember the Hemalurgy wasn't wide knowed and Atium's Hemalurgy itself was misunderstood) - Exotic flora/fauna from the Ashen World. maybe there is another planet where that flora/fauna is needed PS: Allumin is really unlikely as it's more easy to be obtained in other places -
Tanavast didn't move on at all. His Cognitive Shadow merged with a Spren. He is the Stormfather now.

Harmony is a 300 years old being in Stormlight Archive. I could not call him strictly a new thing
-
I see more likely that Odium would try to make Sazed self-destroy himself. Pushing unbalance in his Powers. Notice that Odium could probably steal/obtain already some Honor's Investiture from Roshar and He (at least from the WoB) didn't try this...also if It would out himself in a Better position aganist Cultivation

Except my mistyping, yes.

I think you are mixing things. Szeth was physically dead but he was still in the timeframe of recovery. He was not a Cognitive Shadow and his ties to the physical were still there. Simply enough Healing was enough to resurrect him. You May notice the same thing happened into Lift's Interlude with the Azish's Emperor, with Wax into BoM, Miles in AoL or any other being with tons of Healing avaliable. Nale Simply used a Progression Fabrial to do the trick (we saw another Progression Fabrial in One of Dalinar's visions).

His Stormlight Efficiency will drop with the mix Nahel's Surgebinding and Honorblade's Surgebinding (also if probably would be better than Honorblade's Surgebinding alone). I think this didn't happen simply because Kal didn't try to use the Blade. We know (and recently Brandon talked on this) expectation does a lot about Cosmere's magic. If Kal didn't think the Blade will gave him powers....the Blade will not gave him powers. EDIT: As I referenced it, I will post the Brandon's post about (look at the point 2 at the bottom):

There is a WoB about Spiking an Hordeling and the effect in the Sleepless. In that case the change in the Hordeling will severe It from the Sleepless. So maybe makes a Bond Will have the same interference/severing effect
-
@Djarskublar we know by WoB that Elantrians are not Cognitive Shadows.
-
I like your theory but I think you need to change the Shaod's definition as the Shaod Will be the process (in your term) under an AonDor user becomes an Elantrian and It's not strictly related to the Reod and the Broken City. It could be confusing. Anyway good job ;-)

The Stormlight glows because It's a "lightbulb to the Spiritual Realm". It isn't related to the Stormlight itself leaking away from his container (gemstone or Human user) as also a perfect container without leaking would glow. The glowing comes from the Spiritual Realm and the Shardblades and Honorblades glow for their amount of Investiture and connection to the highter Realms too (probably) PS: notice that not every Spren's type glows...Just look at Pattern or Ivory

She is in exile from Taldain. We don't know the reason, but it isn't probably related to herself. We know Taldain becomed off-limits at all nobody go in or out. So Khriss simply remained off-world uncapable to return until Autonomy will stop this isolation
-
@Rhaegar'Elin that happened because she has not Stormlight to use the Surge, not for a coded mechanic.
-
Odium doesn't want to be Influenced by other Shards' intents. He is fine with his actual mindset

@Ciridae maybe it's better to start a specific topic on this as this exchange could become long. Anyway, you are not an allomancer for birth. You (if you are a Scadrial guy) have the "potential" to be an allomancer for birth. Like a Seed of Allomancy inside of you who could or not develop. This seed is the extra bit of Preservation that Preservation himself placed into Humans. This Seed is usually trapped between the rest of Preservation and Ruin's Investiture that compose your Soul. When your Soul craks this Seed could be released and becomes active (growing in the appropriate Spirit-Web to use Allomancy). If you are hyper saturated of Preservation's power (through Lerasium) or you have a way to add the right spirit web to your soul (Hemalurgy or Medallion) you don't need the cracks at all. The Cracks could be useful to people without the right Preservation's treeshold to get Allomancy as Preservation try naturally to fix the cracks. This is for example the reason of the high efficiency of the Mistsnapping. The Mists beat people and exploied the cracks to fill the Soul with more Preservation than someone had. But once you have the power, you don't need them...also if ironically the Allomancy over time will crack your Soul and starts a bad loop where the Preservation's power itself will damage your Soul and try to fix it every time (Savantism)

Again first of all for definition when Adonalsium Shattered the Vessel were mortal and without the complete Realmatic Knowledge they have now. Secondly, we don't know if the Vessels actually Shattered/Splintered Adonalsium or if the Shattering was simply a side effect of Adonalsium's murder (the WoB seems to suggest this scenario by the way). I will try with an example, you posted a quote from SH so I assume you read it. IF after Vin's final attack to Ati. Sazed (or someone else) didn't pick up the Shards. Ruin, Preservation or both (or noone to be more precise) could end to auto-splinter themself. But this don't mean Vin had any knowledge about Splintering a Shard. Returning to your question about Odium and his killing hobby. Odium manages to do everything he could to have some margin over the enemy Shards. For example, He avoid to Invest himself, so He has quite of his power always avaliable....while other Shards Invested some of his powers. You saw how also a bit gap of power could allow one Shard to overpower another. Of course killing two Shards in a row is a epic feats for him. We know Splintering a Shard is a taxing task and Odium needs to recover after that. Probably something in the Selish's context made this easier to do. It could be helped by another Shard (like someone proposed) or maybe he managed to put D&D one aganist the other and simply killing them in a weakened state...For now we don't know. We don't know either if both or them fight back (Their Intent could prevent themself from defense)
-
It's not in that way. The cracks in the Soul aren't need to use Allomancy. They are need to gain Allomancy. For example Lerasium Mistborn could be Allomancer without any kind of crak in the Soul (and probably their child too) also using a Medallion doesn't care of your Soul's state
-
Probably because the "technique" to Splinter a Shard is something the Vessels didn't know. A Shard could end Splintered for multiple reasons. For example if the Vessel dies and nobody pick up the Shard for a while. The Shard could auto-Splinter itself (or search a new Vessel or develop a rudimental mind) so it's possible the original Vessels simply killed Adonalsium and the Shattering was a auto-side effect of this (there is a WoB on the line "Adonalsium shattered because he was killed"). This mean they will not know a specific way to Shatter Adonalsium's Power. The "Splintering technique" Odium (and maybe other Shards) knows instead targets the power itself to Splinter it...mostly the Vessel dies as result, but the attack is not to the Vessel. Extra: Cultivation has Splintering knowledge as she saw the Honor's Splintering and learned of that experience

Yeah destruction is a face of Ruin. It's not only destruction but it's probably the nearest one

theory The secret that broke the Knights Radiant
Yata replied to CaptainRyan's topic in Stormlight Archive
Unless Pattern is explicity a liar (something weird for the character) the Lightweavers killed their Spren in the Recreance. But Pattern has real problem to lie, so I think we could take his words with a decent amount of trust- 34 replies

I was thinking. in "The Eleventh Metal" short-story we saw a Mistborn researcher try to find new allomantic metals. He discovered the Malatium (that with your idea would be Atium - Electrum + Gold) and he call it the eleventh metal...But to get Malatium he would need before to turn the Alloy into pure metal...this metal would be Allomantically avaliable so it would be the 11th metal and the malatium the 12th metal. Also Sazed spoke of the Atium as something 100% Ruin rather than 50%-50%....If the Atium is an alloy of the true Ruin's godmetal and Electrum. The Atium would be not pure Ruin

theory The secret that broke the Knights Radiant
Yata replied to CaptainRyan's topic in Stormlight Archive
@CaptainRyan First of all, thanks for your kind words. Indeed a Radiant could release the Bond (to be more precise I think the Spren could release the Bond). There was case of spren passed from Parent to child and other things like that. Another thing that bother me a bit It's the timeline. I think (but I could be wrong) the Parshmen's birth happened before the Recreance....but this could be really speculative. Maybe in my next re-read of SA I Will check this...- 34 replies

Of what ? I don't understand, the cognitive Shadows are not "of something else". There is a WoB on the Cosmere's Immortality and there Brandon said the Heralds are Cognitive Shadows. I will avoid to post It here as there are spoiler from others books
-
Seems that only an Herald could start a Desolation, breaking under torture. Probably the simple act of be in Roshar is enough to trigger the Desolation ad they have to Soon return or a new Desolation Will start
