  1. Quite simply (as may be a Law of Universal Magic in a fictional world) in the Cosmere, the Magic Systems (Allomancy, feruchemy, surgebinding,ecc...) arise spontaneously from the Interaction between one or more Shards and the Shardworld (planet) they invest their power into. This mean that if Shards invested their powers in a planet, soon or later on that planet magic will born. This magic is fueled by the Shards's power. How Do the Shards and the planet "forge" the Magic Systems ? Quite easly (from a Magic Cosmical PoV) the Shard who fuels a magic influences how the Magic is accessed while the Shardworld dictates a Specific element called Focus through the Shard's power express itself. In your specific example: Scadrial's Focus is "Metal" and as you may see the Metallic Art are based on the Metals....Preservation's influence may be see about how someone becomes an allomancer. In the standard case, to Snap an Allomancer. You have to suffer a great stress (physical, mental or emotional) who push you to try to preserve yourself. (We didn't figure yet what the Roshar's Focus is) For your second question, a Shard is something limited by his own "role". It's what we called a Shard's Intent or Mandate(some sharder like more the first one, other the second....as far as I know "mandate" is more canon, but I like more Intent)....A Shard can't do something aganist his Mandate (without a great effort) . In the case of Preservation create something is aganist his own mandate because Preservation itself is a force of statis....not a dinamic force who create or destroy. EDIT: Fixed some grammar errors
  2. If I confused you with my List's post. I am sorry, I was just trying to explicity explain the differnt factors who may influence an Allomancer. To show you exacly what the WoB talked about. As you may see the WoB states that those "Perks" (again it's a not canon term, you may call it "supernatural effects born by Magic Interactions" if you prefer) aren't avaliable for being with too much powers (as example a Mistborn, Full Feruchemist and Fullborn). You may note at this point that Push/Pull with more efficiency with Increase/Decrease Weight, it's something every Fullborn, Crasher, Iron Compounder, Mistborn+Iron Ferring, Coinshooter+F-Feruchemist and Lurcher+F-Feruchemist may do...this mean for logic, that it's not a "Perk" as for the WoB itself a FullBorn will not have perks
  3. You have right, it was disproved. It's an advanced use of Steel Allomancy through Savantism
  4. I actually always see it like: A Shardblade always cuts the Soul. In the case of living being, they are so invested that a Shardblade can cut only the Soul while for lesser entity (as inanimate object) the Soul oppose so little resistence that also the physical is cutted. But I have to try to find a way to prove or counterprove it
  5. I have to be honest...I have always put the Wax's aim as a side effect of being a Coinshooter or Lurcher....You see all the time line toward a lot of thinks and you may use it as "guide" for aiming and other spacial reference....But it's possible he is indeed supernatural. No other Steel/Iron Misting seems to be so deadly precise. About Wayne: someone asked (it was an old WoB) if his ability to impersonate has something magical. And the answer was "no"...But in the end a "perfect hear" would be something different
  6. There are differnt aspects of the Allomantic Power: - Allomantic Strenght: How strong are you as allomancer, it is express as "how much fast you may burn your metals" (and for example it is the difference between Elend and Vin as Allomancer) -Skill: know how to actually use your power to get a better outcome (Breeze with years of practice know who to push-pull Emotions to get what he want from a subject, it's probably he is also a Savant but the great of his feats come from skill and experience alone) - Savantism: The power actually become "better" and you may performe feats with it that not Savant can't do it. (Spook's daredevil sense, kelsier's high controll over the Pushed-Pulled Object, Wax's Steelbubbles are all result of powers who are further developed twisting the User's soul....A genius Allomancer like Vin would be unable to do it until her soul began to change as happened to the others). - Perks (extremely uncanon term): Something born from magic interaction between powers. A misting or ferring can't have it because their power is alone. This magicl effect may be or not be related to the powers who gave birth to this (example: Shallan's Memory, Skybreaker's guilty-sense, Windrunner's abnorme Squires number, we have no yet a confirmed Twinborn's perk).
  7. Actually @Vindicator the "perks" are actually effect unexpetted born from Magic Interaction and not directly correlate with the "parents powers". Take as example the Surgebinder's one (we know at least some of this): For example the Lightweaver's Memory or Skybreaker's guilty-sense. They are not born form practice with the Surges...They simply arise spontanous from the only fact you have the "parent powers" as interaction (in theory a Lightweaver who never used his Surges would may already have the Memory). A Savantism effect may be reach by everyone with the right power after a long use, the "perks"(without a better name yet) are simply there without any kind of use, effort or skill
  8. I am pretty sure that when an Herald dies his/Her Honorblade vanish with him/her. They have to willing leave them behind. The sole view of the Circle of Honorblades in the Prologue was enough to Kalak to understand that almost all survived (and the missing Taln's Honorblade as "ah Taln is dead right ?") This mean that in the times between the previous Desolations...there are no Honorblades on Roshar
  9. @Spoolofwhool I also remember a WoB who said you need to have Nalthis's sDNA to Awaken but In a earlier time I failed to try it again (maybe it's from an old reddit post)
  10. @Eccentric Hero I am a Shardbearer now, it's time for revenge
  11. You saw the answer before of me (It was late night here). Anyway It's really a interesting answer....Sure it destroy my idea, but now we know more. Glad to be helpful, I created a post in Cosmere Theories to properly share this new WoB ;-)
  12. Pushed from this @Oversleep 's question. I began to try to find an explaination that in the end made me ask direcly to Mister Sanderson. This is the answer I get about the matter I hope he would reply to the last one, but in the end we discovered something quite juicy. A perks is something developed by small sections though Interactions. Greater Powerhouse in the Cosmere leave no space for this natural interactions. We may use this fact to remove all the strange feats of Mistborn, Feruchemist or Fullborn by the effect of a weird Perk
  13. Yeah I hear the same thing...First November only as far as we know. I am recently become member of an Italian Cosmere's group and also there nobody have better information ... @king of nowhere maybe you may try to tweet to Peter to ask it, I recently spent all the mercy from both Peter and Brandon
  14. @Iron Eyes I completely missed the last WoB....Thanks to post it here. It really spicy
  15. There are other Topic about and in the end we don't know how this may be possible. We know that Vasher didn't understand yet how to use Stormlight to Awaken. For example, I think you can technically Awaken with Stormlight like you did with Breath...But the Stormlight doesn't stick on the subject and the Awakening will last some seconds because the Stormlight will leak away
  16. I have to missed it. I don't remember any WoB who explicy states there are not-Human Vessels (May you post it here pls ?) The only one I remember is about "all the original vessels are from Yolen" and this may of course keep open the possibility of a Dragon's Vessel or a Shodel's Vessel (If I remember right the 3 intelligent races of yolen).
  17. Lerasium's Allomantic power is "rewrite Spirit Web". The "turn into Mistborn" is just a side effect of burning Lerasium without any actual purpose or skill and happen simply because without any purpose the Lerasium by default rewrite your Connection to Preservation more powerful...and this has as side effect to give the Allomancy to the damnation lucky guy who eat it
  18. You recently asked (and recived) more if I don't remember wrong....I was just to post on the forum everything. But I saw it was a Sharder's question and decided to leave the honor to you
  19. Actually you have right. It's possible that Scadrial was created to comply to specific requirements (for example have as a focus a physical object/matter). In the end if this is true this mean almost every Shardworld are designed by Adonalsium with his own willing requirements. About the Reason for the Sphere in Shadesmar, I have to be honest, I didn't figure it fully but you may see an affinity with the only material who may keep Stormlight.
  20. To be honest, I don't think your analogy works very well. We don't know if the Gods (to place both Shard and Adonalsium in the group) choose how to Manifest their power in the Cognitive...I find is more likey that there is in every shardworld an element (I call it Essence but it's a uncanon term of course) as the Investiture naturally manifest and it's this Essence who fill the Cognitive Realm and is showed when we see Raw Investiture of a Shard Invested in a specific Shardworld (mist for Scadrial, color for Nalthis, "crystal"/glass/sphere/ecc.. for Roshar)....I think its like the Focus, it's something strictly related to the deep nature of a Shardworld...When you put Investiture in that System (transition Spiritual Realm-->Cognitive Realm), the Investiture is forged into the Essence Anyway in your analogue you place the Spren as base element of the Roshar's Cognitive Realm while they are like "people" in a land made of "essence". In the end also if there are a great number of Spren on Roshar, everytime someone visit its Cognitive Realm, there aren't ton of Spren everywhere.
  21. There is no a clear statement but we know that Ruin's prison isn't exactly a prison. Ruin is simply unable to act, because every kind of actions he would try he would be auto-countered by Preservation's Power. With this in mind (that is actually canon). I think Leras gived up a large piece of his mind to "guide" this auto-counter aganist Ruin. But instead of the power who may be divided and stacked again as soon it is avaliable again, once a Mind is broken, the missing part didn't return to the host. About his short-sighted attitude, you have right about the modern Leras. While the old Leras probably planned his own death as part of the "Remove Ruin for the Cosmere's business" plan.
  22. IF you have right, Steel would be able to be used to gain a little benefit in the fields you wrote...not so extreme. I will be really surprised if you would be capable of Storing 50% of your Speed without die.
  23. Yeah but I have a tons of doubt about. For example is the Nahel's bond more flexible and able to "grow/develop" through The Radiant to reach other people more Connected to him ? My Mind is about to blow (and my heart also, because I was really confident in Szeth as pseudo-Radiant with Nightblood+Nale's squire's Abilities) for the possibile implications
  24. Prison uniform confirmed ?
  25. 1 or 2) Leras become like you see it because He sacrificed almost all his Mind to create Ruin's Prison (and at this point Ruin already wound him in a fatal way). He is not completely sane because a great part of his Mind was no more. Then when Ruin was released Ruin actively began to suppress Preservation and their difference in power made Ruin capable of Accelerate Preservation's Death. 3) A Sliver may simply chose to remain as Cognitive Shadow after his/her Death. We don't know if Preservation choose to go Beyond or simply Ruin suppress his soul as soon as He pop up in the Cognitive after his death
