The Honourblades came from Spren
TwelfthOfSnackTime replied to Khyrindor's topic in Cosmere Discussion
To look at it another way Divine Breaths are basically sentient Lifeless with varying commands determined by Endowment. The difference between them and regular Lifeless being basically the same as the difference between normal awakened objects and Nightblood. In this way a Returned is a Sentient Splinter.- 37 replies

The Honourblades came from Spren
TwelfthOfSnackTime replied to Khyrindor's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Could the Heralds be the Cognitive/Spiritual parts of the Splinter? Much like Atium or Lerisium was the physical part of the Shards the Honorblades could be the physical part of the Heralds. Perhaps that could be part of the reason why they are supposed to 'leave' in between desolations?- 37 replies

I can't remember if this was a theory I read somewhere or if I dreamed I read it somewhere, but here are my thoughts on the Dawnsingers and why they are gone. They were superspren, like nightwatcher/stormfather that originally were good, but then Odium turned them to the dark side somehow and now they are the Unmade. I have no proof of this, I just like the idea for a plot point.
-
It could be that Autonomy likes to move around a lot . While we've seen that he is currently on White Sands planet that doesn't mean he is always been there. Just look at all of the traveling that Odium had done before he was trapped.

I'd love to see what Windrunner Compounding does.

Is Syl special, and what could that mean?
TwelfthOfSnackTime replied to Lookalike's topic in Stormlight Archive
I never considered that Tanavast saying 'unite them' could be taken to mean the splinters. If Brandon has said that it was possible to re-unite a splintered shard it could mean that he is planning on doing that in an upcoming book. Honor could very well be that shard, at this point it could only be one of four. IF that happens it won't be until the end of the Stormlight series, or at least the Semi-End halfway through. On the other hand, how could Honor know he was a) going to be splintered and not just killed and have his shard picked up a la Preservation style? And b ) that he could get Humpty Dumpty back together again? It's an interesting theory but we don't have enough evidence yet to speculate at this point. -
Dalinar's Flashback Chapter from Oathbringer
TwelfthOfSnackTime replied to Argent's topic in Stormlight Archive
It could be the very trusted servant that Dalinar has bring 'Taln' to the shattered plains. If not him I don't think we've seen him unless he became one of his generals or captains that were mentioned. Edit: After reviewing the information I have decided that the archer was most likely Captain Teleb. -
I think its pretty obvious from the afore-mentioned Parshendi song that we'll eventually see one be at least something similar. I'm thinking it might come from the group that escaped Eshoni's forced bonding. Rlain I believe will become a Squire to Kaladin and that will open up the avenue that the other Parshendi will need. Also on a side note I find it very ironic that the form they were searching for before they found storm-form was artist form. They couldn't attract any at all. Meanwhile we are shown multiple times that Shallan can attract them in the hundreds. I'm thinking that with the help of humans attracting the right spren the parshendi can then capture them and find the old good forms. The whole thing with rebel Parshendi just seems too fishy to me for Brandon not use them to further world-building with a true Parshendi POV.

Found and read WoK in the library and followed it up with WoR. Found this forum talking about the Cosmere and decided I must read-em all. Started with Elantris because I wanted to keep to the timeline, then moved on to Mistborn.

a mistborn however might be able to if they could balance their pushed and pulls on the coin somehow. Though the spinning wheel of horseshoes might be easier to manage.

Intercosmere Webway Travel or a Hoax?
TwelfthOfSnackTime replied to im_not_superman's topic in Cosmere Discussion
So to paraphrase your post you believe that the shardpools are almost like wormholes? That's what it sounded like to me anyway. I've been leaning toward this idea myself, that they are wormholes through the Cognitive Realm that make it so that you don't have to walk all the way to another world. I have no evidence to back it up with except my intuition though. -
That makes a scary amount of sense. I never thought of the Southern Scadrians being behind the Set. Why take it by force when you can use subterfuge first?

I guess it depends on what is happening in Southern Scadrial. They don't have the benefits of the Basin or naturally occurring Mistings and Ferrings. To them Allomancers and Feruchemists might be a resource that they really want. Not to mention gaining the basin to turn into a Bread Basket to feed their own growing population. As far as waging a protracted war a long way from home, I believe in Alloy of Law the Southern Scadrial hint was a mysterious ship. If we assume that the South has Aviation and Naval capabilities they could just send a Naval strike force with a Aircraft Carrier. I'm willing to bet they don't just send in the Army as soon as they find Elendel, But after scoping the situation I believe they would see that the benefit of taking over outweighs the cost. Edit: Put yourself in the Southern Scadrians shoes. You see a paradise land filled with resources and magic people, but no military to protect it. At least we haven't heard about a Military in Elendel. If they do have one its probably more for show since they haven't needed to fight for anything for 300 years or so.

They might not have the technology but they definitely have the potential. They are in the Elendel Basin. I'm assuming they have access to way more raw resources than the southern and will be able to catch up fairly quickly once the $h!+ hits the fan.

After reading SoS recently my imagination took off to speculating where the future of Elendel and Scadrial is going. Now I think at this point everyone is aware of the Southern Scadrial info drop that Harmony muttered about to wax in the coach ride. How the 'others who were almost destroyed' had much better technology and were more aggressive than those in Elendel. With that information and a logical leap using a juxtaposition of Earth history around the same technological time period as Scadrial I'm proposing that within the next 10 to 50 years Scadrial time North and South will meet and there will be a massive war similar to WW1. So I'm asking you readers to further speculate on this idea. Such as what would cause it, what roles would be devised for Allomancers/Feruchemists in a major war scenario, how would our favorites(the North) be able to win, what part would the Set play in it etc...

Based on the little info drop that Harmony did in the coach about Southern Scadrians and their technology/aggressiveness my imagination immediately thought of a Scadrian WW1 coming on the horizon. Harmony seemed really worried about Elendels current Technological slump. While his manipulation of Wax was awful it was Paalm going all Viva La Revolution that made him aware of it. While it does kinda seem Destination before Journey I think he is trying to avert a much more dangerous crisis.

Duralumin Compounder. That has potential to be terrifying
TwelfthOfSnackTime replied to Firehead13's topic in Mistborn
But if the super-connection works both ways would you still hate them after? -
Sorry I didn't mean to infer that they were co-conspirators, just that at least Vasher knows about Hoid. Most likely Hoid is aware of Vasher too. I would be very surprised if he wasn't.

When Bleeder said this particular line she wasn't referring to his father or future father-in-law or even uncledaddy. He meant the Survivorist priest that she nailed to the wall. Edit: I believe that it was inferred that this was the priest wax and Steris picked out to officiate their wedding ceremony.

TwelfthOfSnackTime replied to Firehead13's topic in Mistborn
lol now I'm picturing Kaa from Jungle Book as a Duralumin Compounder -
Actually Vasher knows Hoid. you can tell because he calls him by the name he used as the storyteller in Warbreaker when Kaladin refers to him in conversation.

Cognitive Shadows are PeopleSpren
TwelfthOfSnackTime replied to Raykoda's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I guess the only thing left to say now is, What kind of powers would Kelsier grant if he were to go to Roshar and form a Nahel bond with some young impressionable Anarchist? Edit: This isn't actually a serious theory on my part just a fun exercise -
That's the part that's a hypothesis. I definitely remember that you could spike a normal person to steal some attribute but I've never heard anything about animals.
