    Redshift?

    Magic + Science = Awesome. It's official.
  2. Nah I don't think so. I think that there are many people who would say the same thing about their horses, dogs, cats, pet rhinocerous, etc. Now watch. Brandon's going to come and have the horse start talking. Just to spite me. EDIT- There are non-human lives that we've seen. There are Koloss and Kandra. True, they are based off of humans, but they aren't humans.
  3. I like happyman's theory that Aona and Skai were splintered into Seons and Skaze. It just seems to.. fit. It explains why these random objects have sentinence, and why they can't be replecated. It would be really helpful if we knew when Odium splintered Aona and Skai.
  4. I got something. From rereading the Goodreads Q&A, I learned something important. There are four terms for subunits of Adonalsium. 1. Magic Users- This one isn't specifically mentioned by Brandon, but I think it should be mentioned. This person usually has a fraction of a shard in them that allows them to connect to Adonalsium's power, often called the "power of creation" (in HoA Q&A). 2. Splinter- This group includes Awakened, and Brandon doesn't mention a whole lot about them. I believe that Lerasium-Mistborns would also follow under this area. These people have a lot more power to them then the Magic Users. 3. Sliver- Slivers are people who hold or have held a part of a Shard. This group includes Rashek, Vin, and Kelsier (he picks it up after Leras dies, but before Vin embraces the mists). 4. Shard- These people hold one of the (assumed) 16 shards of Adonalsium that include some of the following: Odium, Cultivation, Preservation, Endowment, and Ruin. They are compared to Greek gods in terms of power (aka, not God all-knowing). Oh! And Brandon said that there's only one shard behind Awakening. "It is unlikely that I will use this magic system in a different book because it is distinctly tied to that particular Shard." Although many of us assumed that, it's nice to have it confirmed. http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/264132-q-a-with-brandon-sanderson?page=2 EDIT- After reading Andrew's thoughts, I decided to look a little deeper to see what I could find. Here is the revised Splinter definition 2.1 Splinter- This group includes Awakened. These people have a "touch of the divine in them". "As Lightsong has a splinter of divine nature inside him, he is able to interpret the paintings
  5. What? I don't know what you're talking about.
  6. Since TWG is dead, I figure I'll put this here. It's the 3 big Q&As that Brandon's done after HoA (when we really started on Hoid and such) I was going to post the whole thing here, but then I got lazy. So I'll Google Doc it instead. https://docs.google.com/document/d/13_mSge5O3El9lKzxO7FBv9TuJOALDkVyX4GXYE950C4/edit?hl=en&authkey=CNH5rZYM
  7. I've got some more general ones: When will we see WoK annotations? What's your plan for the "Forumn" link on your website, since TWG may not be able to be restarted? Is 17th shard an option?
  8. Here you go- Annotation Fifty (WoA) Also, the religion Sazed preaches here is one I decided to spin off into its own book, focusing Warbreaker around it. They aren't the same planet, but I wanted to do more about a religion that worships art, and that was one of the initial motivations for Warbreaker's setting. Sorry. No obvious magical connection.
  9. Where do Kelsier and Marsh get their nobility from? I know that Marsh snapped after obligators got their Mom, so I assume it's from their father? Or are they second generation? Is there some reason that both Vin and Kelsier are half-skaa, half-nobleman, both are quite skilled at allomancy, both end up overthrowing the Lord Ruler, and have siblings that are seekers? Was Kelsier Ruin's 'back-up' plan? Or was he Preservation's? How come the gods in your novels are gods instead of Gods? Is there some planet-hopper that we've missed? Someone other than Hoid/17th Shard? Is WoK after Elantris 2 or 3? Is WoK after Nightblood? Is "Grump" the character talking to Elohkar in the Prologue? Is Hoid the drunk beggar in the Prologue? I know Peter made some remark when that was suggested forever ago. Are the Arch-people (the assumed Heralds in the epigraph arches) representing people? or magics? (probably RAFO'd) How come you never had Elend burn Gold? How would that affect him since he's a Lerasium-Mistborn? Are the Allomancers who were mist-snapped heritable? And are they the strength of mistings of the time, or are the Lerasium strength. Will the Well of Ascension refill up (I assume not, since Sazed is in control of both shards) Is the Pool in Elantris Relief?

  11. I'd imagine that it would probably make TLR have the amount of power that mist-Vin has. But he would have to be constantly swallowing metals in order to make it work. Maybe it would make TLR turn into Preservation. Maybe that was the point of the beads- to help find a new Shardholder. I mean if TLR was the only one who had Lerasium, and he never had any kids, maybe Vin would've never have been a Mistborn and would've never burned the mists. Or maybe the mists would've snapped her and she would've found her way eventually to the Well.
  12. I think what Brandon meant was that what Lerasium really does is have you 'channel' more of Preservation, and that causes you to become Mistborn. So the mistborness of it all is a side effect, and the connection to Preservation is what it actually does. I think.
  13. of the bandersnatch.
  14. *sigh* I win the obscure award. xkcd 806. The secret to tech support.

    Redshift?

So how much of a shift would there be if the bubble cut time in half? So for every second that happens inside the bubble, there's two outside. I guess I'm saying is that there seems to be a consensus that there would be a redshift/blueshift. My question is, would anyone other than Lightsong be able to tell?
  16. But Brandon says this won't be the case after he publishes a few books (which I think are Elantris 2 & 3 and Warbreaker 2)
  17. You know what? We should have a Q&A thread, where we keep a list of unanswerable questions and whenever a 17th shard member goes to a signing, he brings the questions with him and posts the answers.
  18. *Slight spoilage* I personally think it's Hoid pretending to be drunk (or maybe really drunk. Even World-Jumping Immortal peoples have to have a break sometime). But that's mostly my gut speaking. Oh! And When I said this when we only had this, Peter said something suspicious. Curse the TWG forums downage!

    Redshift?

It'll be the Duraluminum Atium of the second series. I can imagine. After a huge allomancer fight, both sides meet together. Criminal-"I got 1.32*10^20 waves. How about you?" Police-"I only got 1.31*10^20!" Criminal-"Did you account for the reflected light off the pavement?" Police-"Ahh. That would do it."
  20. Stick figures, comic. Hope that helps!
  21. Sorry! Let me clarify. Many of the Elantrians were wiped out (burnings, riots, etc) by the political actions ten years ago. Some still would have survived.

    BioChroma

I know that or some of the higher levels of Dahkor (transportation, for example) takes sacrifices. Same with the anti-AonDor thing that the Dahkor Gradget had.
  24. broadcasted the bandersnatch
  25. Got it! No Capitalization or spaces. Hint: Darn modem! Script, penguin. https://thismessagewillselfdestruct.com/m/8uW0pYutcMcxCp
