Death by nightmares. *shudders*

I don't think he would be drunk either. But I do think that he would act drunk. After all, he was willing to be a beggar in Elantris, and a "blind" informant in Mistborn. It's not too much of a stretch to see him acting as a drunk. Especially with who else may have been there....

No, I agree with you guys. Shallan (most likely) never saw the Nightwatcher. Her father though.... But even still, it is a lot more likely that Shallan just naturally has her awesome memory.

I have always thought (even when we had just the prologue), and I still do think that the drunken old man is Hoid/Wit. As for the perhaps-fifth Herald? I don't know. I always thought there was more to that merchant who trades in Shin lands than meets the eye. And he does seem really worried about people finding him unexpectedly....

That's very interesting. So somewhere, there is theoretically a man who had visions of an upside down world and wanted it fixed, and in exchange, he gave a thing of cloth to the Nightwatcher. So then, when Interlude's-friend-father person needed a thing of cloth, all he needed to sacrifice for his vision. (Note- I don't think that it is one person trades for one person. That was just the easiest way to explain it. ) That's a very intriguing idea. And it would explain why the Nightwatcher so often gives horrible punishments- because that's what people come to her to get rid of. EDIT- Though I'm not sure that that is the reason why Shallan has such an impeccable Memory. But I do like the idea for it's mechanics.

We don't see any ability to read minds- besides perhaps through copperminds. But neither Ruin or Preservation has been able to show any ability to read minds. No, what I think is happening there is Wax laughing at his own joke. He says that he's not sure if he makes the emotions or not- I think that Wax is making it up in this case.

Can you give us a better number Peter?

Well, it's 1-4, and I have an interview afterwards.

For a second, I thought that this was a Brandon interivew.... Sorry, but I won't be able to be there. I've got church.

You're right. Those other quotes and your reasoning make a very very good case for a density/mass-based Iron Feruchemy. My posting on gravity certainly is wrong.
-
Like this? WoA 107, emphasis mine.
-
I love your ideas, partially because they match with mine a lot And what happyman says about quotes is true. Any theory is better when you have quotes right there, so that people can read the exact words you drew conculsions from, and draw similar conclusions.( Sort of like how Jasnah convinced Shallan that the Parshmen are Voidbringers by showing her all of the quotes. ) But I agree with pretty much all of your points. In fact, I like this summarizing so much, that I am willing to espouse it.

That makes sense. Or Gaz happens to see Hoid doing something magical, goes off to squeal, so Hoid either kills him or uses magic so he is far away or so he can't tell anyone.

I think I may have it. Brandon has talked about the Realmantic nature of Windrunning (which is manipulation of Gravity) before. Let me see if I can find it... Here it is! It's in the Ars Arcanum of WoK "A Basic Lashing involved revoking a being's or object's spiritual gravitational bond to a different object or direction. Effectievely, this creates a change in gravitational pull, twisting the energies of the planet itself. A Basic Lashing allowed a Windrunner to run up walls, to send objects or people flying off into the air, or to create similar effects. Advanced uses of this type of Lashing would allow a Windrunner to make himself or herself lighter by binding part of his or her mass upward." I think it is this sort of manipulation of Spiritual Energy that is happening with Iron. My Crazy Idea for explaining Iron is as follows: In Physics, there is a Gravitational Constant. It's the number that's used to calculate Gravity for the whole universe. It's something like 6.6*10^-11. What if, when Wax is "storing weight" he's reducing that number just slightly for all the particles connected to him so that the world doesn't pull on him as much. When he's "drawing out weight" he's increasing that number so that the world pulls on him a little more.

No, I just think that rather than building temples, or making altars and being holy, Harmony would much rather have people out actually helping others. He wants people to help others. I think part of this comes from Sazed being a little uncomfortable about being worshiped, but I think more comes from Harmony looking at the religions and seeing how much the religion is sometimes built up instead of the people. The Steel Ministry is the perfect example. The religion there wasn't about helping the people, about seeing what good can be done. It's all about worshiping (and helping) The Lord Ruler and his church/government.

Death by Centrifugal force.

That line's actually in the 3rd book. The only time we hear the name "Ruin" in the second book is at they very end after he's released. This is Spook's letter to Vin (intercepted by Marsh)
-
I think that Harmony is not reading Wax's mind. Unless he's developed some insane new powers since last we met, Shards can't read minds. But I do think that Harmony is pushing thoughts into Wax's mind. And I don't think that Harmony can push thoughts into everyone's head. Just specific people. Do you remember back in HoA? While anyone who had Hemalurgy was able to have thoughts pushed in by Ruin (from everwhere from Vin to Spook to Marsh), Preservation was only able to speak to specific people. Who? People who had faith in him. While Kelsier held Preservation, he spook to Spook. Not Vin, not Elend, not any of the old crew, but Spook. Why? Because Spook had a faith and trust in Kelsier that the rest of the crew (except for Demoux) didn't have. And then when Vin holds Preservation, she only speaks to Elend. Why? Because he has an innate trust in her, a faith that she will come through and succeed. So, she is able to speak with him. I believe that this is what is going on with Wax. When he wants to pray/meditate, he puts his earring in, sending a flare to Harmony saying "Hey look! Someone praying!" Since Wax believes in Harmony, Harmony can push thoughts into Wax's mind. However, since Harmony doesn't actually know what Wax is thinking, he can only generally encourage Wax (Like Ruin with Vin's earring). He sends him general stuff because that's all he can do with the information he has. So that's what I think. Or maybe the earring is hemalurgically charged (whether human or animal). Or quite possibly both.

Actually you are traveling in time. You just can't change the speed that you go through it.

I'm still up for Everyone having a Breath. Most people seem to have a life sense, and see colors, and aren't grumpy all the time. The sick thing doesn't prove the point either way though. If every human on Nalthis had a Breath, than the bacteria would have to grow stronger in order to survive. Then, when Nalthis people lose their breath, than they would be at normal health versus super-bacteria. But I don't think that Nalthis are the only ones that have a Breath. I think everyone has one, but the people of Nalthis are the only ones who can give it away.

I think that the information in the Copperminds isn't actually stored in the metal, but that the metal is a gate to the Cognitive Realm, and that's where the information is stored. It would make sense that Ruin can affect the Cognitive aspect of a coppermind. EDIT- That's where the Earring comes from! Harmony can read people's minds- but only Copper Ferrings. And only if they want him too. You know that Ruin can change information in copperminds, right? And Feruchemy is balanced between Ruin and Preservation, right? So Preservation can change information in copperminds. Now, it's really hard to change information, if you can't see it. (Why Kwaan's metal plate wasn't changed). So, since Ruin and Preservation can change Copperminds, they can READ copperminds. Now if I'm a Copper Ferring, I can store information in my little copper earring, and then Harmony (who can do what Ruin and Preservation can do) can read the information that is on that earring, and can even change it. So as I'm praying, I put my thoughts in the Coppermind, I wait, and then I see if it is changed. Maybe I wait for an impression from Him, or I keep a written copy to compare. The start of a tradition. Most people don't realize that they aren't actually talking to him, but some people are, so they follow the motions.

I'm not sure, and if Brandon could revise Warbreaker another time, he said that's what he would fix.
