From Brandon in the annotations. There's another in the WoA Annotations, but I just realized that they never got finished! I'll... have to get around to that.

I think these are appropriate to place here. Old goodies that used to be in the store. Aon Notes Also, Galladon keeps on talking about how confident the Elantrian's were of their godliness- what if they weren't? Imagine that they had heard whispers of secret things of unholy magics happening in Fjordell- and so they decided to look into it. I imagine that some knew that the land was connected to the magic, so they tasked Galladon's father to start research into it. Or maybe they didn't really worry about it, which is why Galladon's father, an outcast sad with heartbreak was working on it. But he slowly started figuring out that it was real, that it was a threat- and Dilaf found out about it and had him disposed of. Or maybe he just really liked researching land since it was the closest he could get to the land without leaving Elantris. Who knows? Maybe we'll find out in a couple years when Elantris 2 comes out. I also imagined that part of the reason Dilaf's wife was "cursed" was because he was there, and his anti-AonDorness countered some of what was going on, making it so that only part of the transformation occurred. Or maybe it was broken, but his Anti-AonDorness let him "push" on the Dor so that it still tried to do the transformation, but failed.

My Mom is in that camp- she's sort of excited for other books to come out, but is really just waiting for Stormlight 3 to come out.

Also, here is a post that Brandon put on Reddit about the process of writing Calamity. EDIT- Wow, Brandon, 13k in a day? That's impressive.

Helaran had (Amaram has) an Honorblade
Zas678 replied to wolverinehokie's topic in Stormlight Archive
My thought was that there really was a blade stolen, but it was stolen by Nalan, and that's the blade he used to heal Szeth. We know that Heralds don't have access to (normal) Surgebinding without their Honorblades, so I think it's plausible that Nalan stole one for purposes of his own and ended up using it on Szeth. -
So you're saying that the spren becomes imbedded in the soul, and forces part of the original soul out to leave . That's even past hemalurgical. I don't think that the void? spren could be that strong to force part of the soul out, but that's a good idea, and I kind of like it.

Kobold King is Actually Brandon

Man, that would make the BYU Cosmere club WAY cooler if it was being partly organized by Brandon himself.- 55 replies

New member and already had my first epic fail!
Zas678 replied to SteelSlinger's topic in Introduce Yourself!
But the way that the book is written, it's really really unclear about where Raoden placed the chasm line. There's going to be a 10th anniversary edition that should make things clearer on that point. And welcome Brandon Steelslinger! -
Oh! That makes WAY more sense. Always better to capitalize the first letter than letters willy nilly.

I (as a spectator) am pretty excited for this Taylor Swift storyline. Also, I had no idea what kind of pics were floating around here in the Reckoner's RP! So racy! Though I'm glad things have been taken care of.

Where did you see it referenced? Oh I know- It's Cosmere Fandom iS the Best Fandom. It's the tumblr tag for the cosmere fandom in... tumblr.

I have to say, I'm thoroghly enjoying going having Twilyght post about her read through memes. It's entirely possible that when I need a refresher on WoK, rather than head to the Coppermind, I'll just read through Twilyght's posts.

Yeah, it was short for Evil Undead OverLord. He was one of the admins and posted somewhat regularly till HoA was released. I think though this was the first mention, we didn't really start the cosmere until the TWG HoA Q&A. That's where Brandon started talking about shards and planet names, and a little more about Hoid, and the basics of Realmatic theory. If you want to read through the original, here it is in the TWG database. EDIT- It's interesting to see Chaos, still making theories, and Peter, still giving slight hints to things he already knows about. I'm somewhere in there, but it was one of my first posts.

You mean I can finally post my 4000 word theory that Reckoners is Cosmere?

Okay, I'm in. How do I gain access to the spec doc? At least till the next game starts up (although I just missed the MR game).

Personally, though I don't know if its true, I bet it's aluminum. Those would be very interesting answers to see from Brandon... EDIT- What was the Herald's response to the Recreance? Did they approve or disapprove?

Sounds good. Sorry about that. When do we want to do the next one? The 19th of May? The 26th? Is once a month good?

So I'm not sure if I'll be able to be there. I'm feeling pretty sick, and I still have to finish moving in my stuff. I'll try to get there a little later, but if not, have a good time!

The real purpose of Area 51. -
Yeah, let's do it. 7 at the JFSB on Tuesday.

I can take this one. I've got some free time before school starts back up. EDIT- Here it is. If anyone wants to look over it before I post it, that'd be great. It's pretty interesting. Brandon mostly talked about why fantasy is important, about how it's maybe the most important genre out there, because it helps people understand one another in an accessible way. No cosmere stuff, but I lot of good Brandon talking.

I remember when I first read Elantris. A family member saw the cover blurb by Orson Scott Card, and decided to buy the book. She read it and loved it, and then shortly after I read it and loved it. I loved the characters and their conflicts, the magic system and the secrets. It was amazing, and I soon read Mistborn and Warbreaker, and eagerly waited for new books. I remember going to the forums, seeing the whole world that was waiting behind the books, and great people to share it with. So thank you Brandon. Thank you for 10 years of writing, and here's hoping for 10 more! Also, To celebrate the 10th anniversary, Comatose has a trivia thread that's been started up. It's pretty good! http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/25417-the-official-10th-anniversary-of-elantris-trivia-thread/

So I would tend to guess that it is because of the Honorblade.
-
Is the physical aspect of Vasher the same before and after he "reveals" himself to be Warbreaker? The deeper question here is if the Returned truly are changing physically, or if it is just everyone's perception of them that changes. Like in the Wizard of Oz- in the books, the Emerald City isn't actually emerald. Everyone that enters just puts on emerald lenses that makes everyone think that the city is green. Is it the same thing for the Returned? They affect the cognitive realm, and so everyone's perception changes?

Parshmen were created by the Bondsmith from the WoR Interludes
Zas678 replied to Mckeedee123's topic in Stormlight Archive
Malishi was seemingly a Knight Radiant who was a Bondsmith, who seems importantish. Of course it mentions that there are only ever a handful of Bondsmith at a time (like 3. Ish)
