I decide to call Bill the Janitor, who comes at my beckoning and repairs the vending machine, two strokes of his hammer, a gift from Odin himself. Tsk tsk Forgot to praise the Ja @OmeGaster ----------------------------- It was a dark and misty night, the mist came in tendrils- except at occasional intervals, when it was checked by a violent jump of an allomancer which swirled and disturbed the translucent fingers, sweeping the cobbled streets (for it is in Fadrex our story lies), chilling the air, and lessening the sight of those who wished to see in the darkness furthermore. Our "protagonist", a dark man with a darker soul, draped in his trademark trench coat, strides down the broken pavement, a curious mechanical device in his hand. It had been almost a week since the fateful letter had arrived, still heavy in the stranger's pocket. Like a phantom, he sneaks through the night, an occasional gleam of metal breaking sight. He strode with a purpose, a purpose indeed, for he was invited to the House Tekiel. A test, they proclaimed, for which all to compete (yet what it is about? Well, we are yet to see). The street opened wider, like the maw of a beast, opened to snap unto it's unwitting prey. Calmly he thundered down the cobblestone street, slowly leaving behind the structures, wreathed in mist. A shadow in the cloak of mist and darkness, darker than the very expanse of the void known as space. He descended upon the front gate of House Tekiel. Now, to make sure I leave these gates alive. ------------------------ Purple Prose is fun . I need to do more of it

nanana, trust me. this one's probably nothing like your idea. Oh, and @Oversleep The part of the forum you're missing is Sanderson Elimination. Roleplaying there gets lots of rep if you do it right and I recently co-GMed a game, so I got upvotes from writeups and things.

And I found it interesting. @Slowswift It is very helpful having things like Magic Systems, races, maps, terrains, language figured out before hand in a general sense. Because as you encounter situations you will find that you need to tweek the magic systems, characters etc etc . Honestly. writing is like diving headfirst into unknown territory, it's just you, your wits, and some writing implements. And the only way you can survive and write a storming awesome book is by recording everything. NEVER discard an idea, every time you get an idea for a plot, character, magic system, it is best to write it down. SO MANY TIMES have I had an awesome idea, but forgotten about it because I didn't write it down. If you need help world-building. We're always here for u to throw ideas at, I'm here if you need help with characters or anything. I find helping others with their ideas gives me ideas and motivate me to write more as well. Truthfully, I think it's because I feel a little ashamed when I see others work on their things with dedication, and I'm sorta here smiling awkwardly XD. @TwiLyghtSansSparkles They look like helpful books I might check them out. Mhm. I used to do that alot and I feel a little guilty that I've sort of stopped lately... aw Shucks. *raises hands The game is up, I've been soothing you all into pressing the upvote button! Honestly. I realised that being active here helps me get through life more. I've gotten alot more relaxed since I joined this site. And well, I've also found that helping others makes me feel better as well. So I've literally just been extremely active.
