I know what you mean. I read the skulduggery series a couple of years ago and finished Dying of the Light, it was great, in fact the poem at the start is now my favourite. have you read Maleficent 7? I was introduced to the Sanderson's work via the stormlight archive and I have read the first Alcatraz book You should really read Skullduggery Pleasant I have never heard of the other books save for the Dresden files, they sound really interesting

2 days ago I entered a competition in my school's local area for Youth Week. It's a writing competition and the theme is 'It starts with us', which basically means young people making a difference or doing good without an adult's help or encouragement. So far I have had a bunch of good ideas....but there is a problem. The Competition has a maximum of 1000 words for a story, poem, song lyrics etc. etc. but the ideas I had would go way over. This is where you guys come in, I need and idea simple but different that won't take many words to write. I just need a few sentences and then I will begin to write. Of course every sharder who contributes will be acknowledged! Thanks

Last Friday, a loooong time ago, in the little city of Sydney, we got hit by the Stormfather himself. Figuratively speaking. But seriously, the storm was so bad that it was worthy of a highstorm on the Shattered Plains. It was like Zeus himself was throwing his bolts at my house but was so bad of aim that it took him 6 tries to hit us. To give you the picture, I was standing at the window seeing multiple, very bright flashes of light outside, I got bored after some time and went to bed(It was late at night), just as I drifted off to sleep, I was woken by an enormous, ear shattering thunderclap, it then took me a while to realise that my fan had stopped working and the lights were out. We had been hit by lightning. So when the lightning hit us, our modem and wifi router got fried as well as our garage doors. As the keen Sharder has noticed, our internet is back up and running. I guess you guys can call be Stormblessed now
