  1. Sorry, my question was unclear. I meant that bronzepulses might be vibrations carried along such a network, and copperclouds might muffle the pulses by making the "lines" of the network vibrate less around them. I thought taking advantage of an in-world mechanic would make the bronze/copper powers seem less handwaved and more plausible. Anyway, since I'm obliged to bring up something relevant to the topic... I've got nothing.
  2. It would be cool but I doubt it, copper and bronze play with the spiritual aspect to find/conceal people using a spiritual connection to a shard. Not much EM use going on there. Now I wonder if copper/bronze utilizes the same geo-spiritual network that anchors time bubbles...
  3. She removed them, yes. But there was no mention of them reacting with the well like her spike did. I think the belt was to distract us from seeing that her earring was different.
  4. A "Christian" is anyone who worships Christ. Regardless of what they believe about "important issues". Just because we don't fall in line with Catholics or Protestants does not mean we are not Christian.
  5. The crux of it is that mass does not affect the energy output of burning steel. Allomantic strength is determined by the user's spiritual connection to Preservation. Mass does affect steelpushes (and Ironpulls) because of inertia. Larger mass objects have more inertia than objects with smaller mass. That means that they're harder to put into motion, and harder to bring to a stop. Higher mass characters like Kel can appear to put more force behind their pushes because they have the mass to toss around larger bits of metal without bracing or anchoring themselves. Lower mass characters like Vin are more easily pushed away because they have to brace themselves to push against objects that higher mass characters can push easily. On the other hand, because Vin has lower mass than Kel she can push herself around more easily. This makes her steeljumps more effective.
  6. Yet lightsabers contain metal (they can't avoid being battery powered) and thus Mistborn deny them their deadliest weapon. Terrisborn would really thrash a jedi though: "I'll match your Inhuman Reflexes, and raise you Superhuman Speed." *Jedi folds* ... *Literally!*
  7. Just call me background-music-man.
  8. I'm more of the go big or go home guy when doing crossovers. A Sith could show up a few years before TFE, scuffle with TLR when investigating the well, escape with his life, and report to the whole freaking Sith Empire! The Lord Ruler could easily hold his own against three or four Sith Lords at once, if he can push away their lightsabers. I also think having Kelsier work as a Sith slave instead of in the pits would be great way for him to snap offworld, train as a mistborn alongside the Jedi, and fight to free Scadrial from the Sith; ending up as an ally of TLR against their common enemy. ...okay, I mostly only wonder what it would be like if Kel joind forces with TLR. Can you blame me?
  9. Subtitles don't show on mobile.
  10. Not the question I thought it'd be from the title. My gut says #2 is more likely, but #3 is a close second. I'll have to spend some time thinking about this one. I have a related question: What happens to a charged metalmind when the user dies or abandons it forever?
  11. The shardholder for manliness is chuck norris. The shardholder for femininity changes hands a lot due to frequent catfights.
  12. Went to Mary's signing, but now I'm too tired to read the books... :(

  13. The demons would eventually catch on that somone (John) is exterminating them, so having a book about a demon who is aware of being hunted could work that way. If it's done right, we as readers won't know where or even who John is (if he uses a false name and disguise). I like the idea of watching from the perspective of a demon who checks under his bed for humans at night.
  14. I thought WoK was closer to 400k?
  15. I'm not certain of the mechanics yet, but I do think Surgebinding is a shared system. Honor deals with binding things. Surgebinding. Cultivation brings out potential and enhances. I always thought of stormlight cultivating and sustaining the spren. Then, when the conditions are met, an appropriate spren is bonded (Honor) to a human and they cultivate (guess who) each other's traits. The spren increases the human's spiritual connection and the human cultivates the spren's cognitive abilities in Kaladin and Syl's case.
  16. If you remember, Ati, Leras, Vin, and Sazed saw all metals glowing brightly when holding their respective shards. Ruin couldn't read what was written on metal, because it would be obscured by the glow.
  17. Remember, in the prelude Kalek doesn't mention any spren floating around. None At All. I've always thought this was significant, but now I'm convinced that it is because Honor hadn't been splintered when the Heralds broke the oathpact.
  18. Just finished watching the Google+ hangout, and while I didn't take notes religiously there was one answer that caught my attention: The shard of Honor has indeed been splintered. (PS I'll feel really embarrassed and foolish if this was already confirmed sooner without my knowledge.)
  19. I assumed he got his initial stash when he escaped the pits.
  20. While I think this bit of science is both fascinating and holding true with a few theories of my own, I wouldn't compare it to Christianity for the sole reason that during its inception, it was radically counter-culture and any intent on behalf of its leaders or followers would have been opposed by the intent of vastly superior numbers. EDIT: I also want to mention that I'm not offended, I just think it's a poor example.
  21. So it would store connection to the shards?
  22. I remeber Shallan saying the cut was shallow, or one of the connecting chains were severed; I don't remember which. Either way, it was a small cut so if it was the Shardblade that did it, it only nicked his poket.
  23. Did anyone else suddenly catch the firefly reference here? They're obviously mysterious people in suits and gloves that brainwash little girls into assasins and melt poeple's brains with sound.
  24. If I'm right about individual and shared systems being formed naturally, the Shard has to be able to stop the process if they choose. If Odium is the third shard, he might deliberatly be preventing the process that makes a shared system. Or Honor or Cultivation may have decided to disable their own system in favor on combining their efforts. Anything is possible, and I still support that surgebinding has elements of both Honor and Cultivation.
  25. Brandon did make sure that blood was the first thing she soulcast, and the poison that led her to confessing everything to Jasnah had to be cast out of her blood.
