  1. I had my Observant bird track a player I thought was likely to be attacked but unfortunately they were not targeted by any other player. Sadly in the same cycle someone guessed my code word correctly and stole my Aviar, so ability wise I'm essentially useless now. For any player with Death Sight who might have protected me last night, don't bother this cycle. I'm going to vote for myself (Adavantos) and hide again so that I can't be killed by the Traders and you can maybe block whoever they try to target. I would personally recommend Lopen, because if the trend of attacking the more helpful / vocal players continues, he'd probably be next on their list. That is, assuming, he isn't one of them himself, which I am slightly concerned of being true, but I'd rather not lose him if he turns out to be good, given how useful he tends to be (especially late game). Also, if you've got power sensing and stumble upon someone with an Observant bird, they might be the one who stole it from me because I doubt there are many of them in the game. I would recommend you don't out it in thread at first just in case they are a villager (don't want to tell the Traitors who to kill), but comb over all of their previous posts for anything that seems suspicious and keep a close eye on them from then on. (1) Kynedath: Stink, (1) SilverDragon: Hellscythe, Lopen, (1) Ripple: Mailliw, (1) Elkanah: Kynedath, (1) Adavantos: Adavantos
  2. First things first, I'm going to compare the vote tally from the end of last cycle to the one from this write up, to determine if any votes were manipulated, then comb through the vote tallies from cycle one and two for suspicious reoccurrences. Vote tally before turnover: Arraenae(3): Hellscythe, Lopen, PK Kynedath(2): Adavantos, Clanky Stink(1): Water Water(1): Stink Adavantos (1): Mailliw, Luckat (1): Elbereth, Vote tally after turnover: Arraenae (3): Hellscythe, TheMightyLopen, Paranoid King Kynedath (2): Adavantos, Clanky STINK (1): Water Water (1): STINK luckat (1): Elbereth Everything checks out except for Mailliw's vote disappearing, therefore he either hid himself or was Mind Forced. Considering that there was an Trader kill this time, I don't want to read too much into it because it guarantees that he did not put in the kill order, so he is most likely not a Trader. I say most likely because we have only 15 players left, 4 of which I would reason are Traders, therefore Mailliw being one of eleven is a lot more likely than one of three. Granted this doesn't rule him out as an eliminator, but so far the only thing he has done so far that I find suspicious is the minimal reasoning he provides for his votes, which he does every game. Now to look at the vote tally from the first cycle. Cycle One Lynch Tally: Phattemer (4): Paranoid King, Arraenae, Mailliw73, Elbereth Adavantos (1): IrulelikeSTINK Mailliw73 (2): luckat, TheMightyLopen Shallan (2): Elkanah, Clanky TheSilverDragon (2): Shallan, Water Here's my thoughts about early lynches. Unless there's a drastic, last minute shift (a la the Shallan Debacle of LG15b) it is more likely that the eliminators are not going to get involved if the village seems to be willing to kill one of their own. They are either going to abstain from voting entirely or vote for a player they doubt will actually get lynched (usually disguised as a poke vote) to look like they're involved when they really are not. IrulelikeSTINK: Lone poke vote for Adavantos C1, votes for himself to prove PK's innocence then later votes for Hellscythe and finally Water. Mailliw73: Votes (and lynches) phattemer C1, votes for Water when he seems to be a candidate for the lynch and then switches to a lone vote on Ada at the end. Shallan: Votes C1 for SilverDragon, does not vote C2. Kynedath: Neither votes C1 or C2. TheSilverDragon: Neither votes C1 or C2 (cannot remember if he posted C2, will confirm). Hellscythe: Retracts his vote by the end of C1 and votes for (and lynches) Rae. Adavantos: Votes for Kynedath C1 (hides so vote doesn't count) then votes for Kynedath more after learning he's a "Sori Messenger." polkinghornbd: Inactive C1, active enough C2 to make a post but refrains from voting. TheMightyLopen: Does not vote C1 due to busy schedule, votes (and lynches) C2 for Rae. Paranoid King: Actions constantly confuse me votes (and lynches) both phatt C1 and Rae C2 Water: Votes for SilverDragon C1 and Stink C2 (can't remember circumstances of first vote but second was during the tangent he had with Stink and HS) Elbereth: Votes for Kynedath (vote is moved to phattemer) C1 and votes for luckat towards the end of C2. RippleGylf: Does not vote C1 and votes C2 for Stink to help confirm PK but eventually retracts towards the end. Clanky: Votes for Shallan C1 (can't remember circumstances, will check later) and for Kynedath C2 (following a few of my posts where I presented my suspicions of Kyn). Elkanah: Votes C1 for Shallan (can't remember circumstances, will check later) and does not for C2 (I don't think he showed up this cycle at all but might be wrong). Looking at this, I am more assured that Kynedath is evil. He only seemed to post when he needed to defend himself and disappeared when his life seemed safe. That, on top of the fact that he is one of five players who has not fully participated in the lynch (SilverDragon, RippleGylf , polkinghornbd and Elkanah). As always I am considerably more suspicious of lurkers (those who stand by and watch without trying to make a difference) than I am of players who actively participate and present legitimate reasons for believing someone is an eliminator. Kynedath fits those parameters perfectly, never posting anything that suggests he is suspicious of someone (at least that I can remember). All his posts seem completely neutral to me (apart from his desire to self-preserve, which is understandable from either side) and indirectly accusatory of others (post where he comments on the Stink/Water/HS situation, trying to cast suspicion on anyone whose not getting involved). Of the other four, I am rank them in descending order of suspicion as Ripple, polking, Elkanah and SD in that order, for the following reasons. Ripple has been active enough both cycles to follow the thread and place orders, but has not committed to lynching anyone. Polking was inactive C1 but appeared long enough to post C2 (likely pressured by GM warning PM, but maybe pressured by docmates? Really I'd need to see if he was active C1 and just didn't post, but I do not remember seeing his name and it's too long to look back for true confirmation). Almost same reasons for Elkanah, except that he at least posted at the end of C1 explaining why he was not present more. Lastly SD, who was active enough C1 but disappeared C2 like Elkanah. Because of the fact he was more involved C1 than Elkanah I rank him lower. I want to trust PK because participating in two village lynches in a row suggests to me cluelessness, however, I should note that BB in LG15b was an eliminator and acted very similarly at first, where he was just so obviously off that some people automatically assumed he wasn't evil. I've already accepted that one of the two Sori is telling the truth (because three Traders putting their lives at risk like that is just ridiculous) and I am more inclined to trust the public reveal than the private reveal. While a wise villager with the appropriate resources should have done what Kyn did, it is also a viable (and often used) strategy for eliminators. In Stink's case, the only reason I can fathom an eliminator would do what he did is because no one would really believe an eliminator would, which could be a great defense (it's working on me now) but as pointed out by others, Stink does things like this all the time, so it isn't exactly out of character. I would also guess Elbereth is a villager as well, simply because of the fact that she voted for luckat towards the end of the cycle and luckat was the player who was killed. Personally (besides Mailliw) I don't think most players would vote for a person they were trying to kill the same cycle, as it draws unnecessary attention to themselves. As a kill, luckat makes sense in that she is a very observant and helpful player to the villagers, but also low key enough that she wasn't likely to receive protection. I doubt they killed her because they knew she was a Patji (Power Sensing Aviar only scans other Aviar) and since the write up didn't include any statements of Aviar being transferred I'd guess she didn't have one either, so that isn't why. It's possible that she posted something in thread that suggested she was onto one of them, but I'd have to go back to read her posts to determine what. I am starving right now so I'm going to go ahead and wrap this up. Will get on again sometime soon to begin doing post analysis and respond to anything directed at me. EDIT: Ninja'd. Water, on 03 Feb 2016 - 5:20 PM, said: You should probably read all my posts again, and even hers when she retracted on me, as you've got a lot of facts wrong. I was never willing to lynch Arraenae. My vote on Kynedath remained the entire cycle because I am genuinely suspicious of him. Any reason I had to be suspicious of Arraenae was based on conjecture alone hence why I didn't follow through with it, and at the end there even tried to intervene by asking the three players who voted for her to think about it more.
  3. I know I said that I was suspicious of Arraenae before, but whenever there is a sudden shift in votes based on conjecture rather than facts, I can't help but question the intent. I hate that PK is involved in this, too, because despite the fact that he's a "confirmed Trapper," he's who of the three I would believe is evil the most (yes, that's mostly because he was my #1 suspicion before this Sori business occurred, and that I'm still convinced someone is not being entirely honest). I do find it interesting that Rae more-or-less repeated a few points I made earlier on this cycle (will quote both passages back to back for comparison) and that Lopen responded to both, yet he did not vote for me, let alone try to cast suspicion on me for my opinions, but the moment Rae says essentially the same thing he pounces on her (will also include Lopen's two responses). and Honestly I don't know. I'm less convinced of Rae's guilt due to her having a similar train of thought as my own and the way she took away her vote from me. My initial reason for thinking she was suspicious was because she has tried to get me killed C1 before and that she was grasping at straws trying to pin me down as evil (which to me, at first, suggested desperate tunneling but may just be villager paranoia at work). I do not really understand the votes on her, so I would appreciate it if Hellscythe and PK elaborated on their reasoning, in addition to Lopen spelling out for me exactly why he thinks what Rae said was suspicious when what I said was not. Maybe it's just because all her thoughts crossed my mind naturally too, but to me they seem almost identical, just spoken differently. Only thing I didn't say that she did was the Stink + Kyn + PK all being evil, a thought I also entertained for awhile, I doubt that's what happened. Still think that out of all the discussion that's gone on today and what little information that's been revealed, Kyn is most likely the eliminator among the lynch candidates. But for whatever reason no one else seems to agree with me but Clanky.
  4. That being said, I recommend everyone send the GMs quotes of the paragraphs you included your code word with it in bold so that they do not have to waste time trying to find them. Anything we can do to help them, since they're kind enough to run this game for us, right?
  5. Gotcha. Stink (2): Water, Ripple Kynedath (2): Adavantos, Clanky Water (2): Stink, Mailliw Paranoid King (1): Polking Adavantos (1): Arraenae
  6. Definitely not my Intent xD just was the first phrase that came to my mind, as it's a pretty common one used in the Corp
  7. Cohesion was a strange surge; of that, Sal was certain. Because of it he never had a problem speaking to the local populace of foreign lands, so long as he stood - or in many cases for him, floated - over their land’s soil. Sal smiled, remembering the first time Khriss and him met. Until him she had not met many Radiants, and of them not one was a Willshaper. He could sense her eagerness to understand in her aura, see it in the sparkle of her eyes as she berated him with questions regarding his abilities. Storms, how beautiful she looked that day, the Rosharian thought fondly. Khriss, beautiful? Nereim scoffed, thoughts Transported directly into Sal’s mind. Of Sal’s many unique talents, telepathy was the one that he was least fond of, mostly due to its tendency to get him in trouble. Not only did it mean his spren was always listening to and invading his thoughts, but whenever he had a fleeting thought about someone close to him it would somehow slip into their heads. After a few hard lessons, he began forcing himself to be more conscious of his consciousness. Why do your thoughts always drift to Khriss? She’s little more than a sandy old snake, no more interested in you than an skyeel is in an axehound. When are you going to realize she is just using you, Saludan? Think about it. Why do you think she always sends you away on these ‘missions?’ No, don’t even thought me. Let me thought you. It’s because she doesn’t want you and will never want you like you want her to. Got it? Sal lifted his glass in the air - making cheers with nothing, it seemed - and took a long swig. When Nereim got jealous it was best for him to just ignore her. Considering she quite literally lived in his mind he found that that was easiest to do when sat at a bar, drinking strong ale and listening to gossip. According to Khriss, Cohesion bared a remarkable resemblance to the Feruchemical power derived from Duraluminminds. Just like how the Surge allowed Sal to increase the connection that water molecules had with one another, it also allowed him to connect his spiritual identity to whatever world he inhabited currently, which somehow bypassed him needing lessons from one of the 17th Shard’s many language tutors. It was through this gift that he learned of the war between the Trappers and the Traders. Not long after his arrival on First of the Sun, Sal heard rumors of a particularly traitorous group of those who established this very settlement on the Pantheon. Apparently these few decided that it was taking too long for them to assimilate the people who called these frightening isles home and, in their lust for their local source of Investiture, they began murdering those whose ideals did not align with their own. After the first corpse surfaced paranoia spread throughout the community's minds like wildfire. So much that Sal was forced to retreat into his own, for fear of going crazy in wake of hearing the sheer audacity of some of their claims. Still, he knew he could not not get involved - intervening in the lives of strangers was simply what he lived for, after all - and so he turned to the words filtered through their tongues instead, hoping for a reprieve from insanity. In the case of three men, one named Pepe, another Avis, and a… Dihydrogen Monoxide? - Storms, this culture’s names are strange. - the alcohol was beginning to break down their filters, bringing out the craziest accusations he’s heard all night. More and more these Trappers reminded him of stories Nazh told him of the Jeskeri Mysteries Cultists on Sel. Stories of them sacrificing innocents for their own gain and instigating confusion among the survivors. Sal couldn’t help but ponder on the likeness between the factions and wonder if this story would end with a similar disaster. Not if I can help it, Sal thought as he stood, taking one last gulp before placing his glass back on the bar’s counter and approaching the three bickering men. This time good will prevail, or else my name isn’t Saludan Leiken. Nereim forced a deep vibration through Sal’s senses as if to let him know she was sighing at his remark. I had wanted to intervene earlier but was too focused on writing this RP, but really now. Stink, Hellscythe, Water, can we not? I am trying to take these games less seriously and not crack the whip when I see the conversation drifting, but I do think the tone of your three's posts have shifted from amusing to aggressive. So yeah. My vote on Kynedath is going to stay. I have no other leads to pursue and personally of all the players up for the lynch he makes the most sense to me in being evil. That being said, I really would like to hear more player's opinions on what's happened so far. Personally I think it is safe to assume I was the one attacked, since no one has tried to counter claim me as the alternative would mean I'm likely a Trader and that it would be worth doing even if it puts their life at risk. So once again I want to reiterate that I am vulnerable this cycle and would love it if someone used Death Sight on me in case the eliminators try to kill me once more.
  8. Yes, I would certainly appreciate Death Sight so that I can use my Aviar tonight and not have to worry about dying. As usual, I doubt the Traders have an additional kill role, but given it's limited use I suppose that's a good enough reason for them to have not used it last cycle, plus there's always the possibility that a Trader!Patji wasn't active enough to decide on a kill. Still, if I ask to be Mind Forced then my Aviar is rendered useless, so I'd much rather be able to use it while I still can than just hope a villager figures out my code word before the Traders do so that we can get some information out of it. See, you say this, but the second I try to interrogate PK a bit so that I can fathom his thought process (in MR10, when we were both evil, I saw the inconsistencies in what he was saying and attacked it at first simply because it was too obvious for me to ignore, not only because I wanted to make him reveal being a Scholar - I actually came up with that plan after I posted my response to him) people claim I'm going too hard on him or say I'm jumping on him (I liken that wording to mugging, so definitely don't appreciate it xD), so yeah. I agree that being firm about your suspicions is better than going halfway, as it's a great means to scare people into revealing their true colors, which is also what I did to Orlok in QF12 (I hate that the best examples I can think of for this is when I'm not a villager, but oh well). I don't really have much to go on right now, but as it stands Kynedath, Arraenae or yourself, Lopen, are the three I'd most put my money on being evil. Admittedly the foundation of said suspicion isn't the best, but at least in Kyn and Rae's case there's more to it than just the fact that all three of you have been an eliminator in one of the games where I was attacked the very first cycle. I know that you three aren't beyond killing me early when it's advantageous, so naturally I'm wary about you all when it's attempted again for the third game in a row. I suppose that could be used to argue that you three learned your lesson, but last cycle I did nothing to warrant getting protected by another player, so you might have believed it was a safe choice. This is assuming that there's no better explanation about the missing eliminator kill and I'm right about being attacked. I'm tempted to make a tally of how many times I have survived kill attempts since I began this game, how many times I've began with some type of self-protection, and how many times I have been protected by another player, since this seems to be a reoccurring theme for me. Anyway, while Rae's dissection of my use of black text in my last post versus blue could be because she's innocent and honestly believes I could be evil, I want to note that she attempted to implicate me in an extremely similar way when she was an eliminator in QF12, trying to reference a comment I made in the MR10 Eliminator Doc, to turn people away from trusting / protecting me. There's a precedence for her doing it when she's evil but not when she's good, which shouldn't necessarily be damning, but it’s just something that caught my attention and I think is worth pointing out.
  9. The reason I think a single player having two Sori is unlikely is because of how it impacts the lynch. It's one thing to have a single player automatically know not to vote for you. But two? That seems like a bit of a stretch. Assuming both Stink and Kynedath really are Sori, that means they would likely do whatever it takes to make sure he doesn't get lynched. That's a lot more powerful than the Trusted side role in LG16, for example, because not only does it remove two potential votes stacking against PK but just about guarantees two votes being used to keep him from dying. As for the bit about the trusted hub, that was more directed on the fact that a player with a Messenger Aviar also was a Sori. While I agree that isn't super dangerous because of the fact that PK can't confirm Kyn is telling the truth without him dying, it does mean that Kyn is free to dump everything he knows onto PK, and that the two would be able to collaborate together without revealing themselves to the Traders. Of course that is impossible now because of Stink's public reveal resulting in PK outing him, but still. Also, my philosophy on coincidences is not that there's always a conspiracy involved, but that there's usually more to the story than what we see at face value. However I do see where you are coming from and am willing to revise my thoughts. It's possible I'm tunneling on Kyn like I did Orlok in QF12 and my mind is just trying to make up reasons for him to be evil instead of finding actual evidence. Though I will leave my vote on him as I'd like to hear more people's thoughts on the subject, in addition to my previous post involving my theory on why there was no eliminator kill.
  10. No worries you're a smart guy so I'm sure you'll figure it out. Just didn't want to spell it out for everyone to see, for obvious reasons, once you do. Anyway, since it's been nearly 24 hours, I might as well shed some light on the Mystery of the Missing Eliminator Kill. I do indeed have the Hidden role, and if my vote reduction last cycle is a testament to anything, it's because I'm telling the truth about that. I debated saving it for this cycle, but was a bit paranoid about being killed before I even had the time to really participate in this game, due to the fact I was too preoccupied last cycle to get on for longer than a few minutes. I put in the order to hide at the same time I voted for Kyn. I didn't want to unintentionally impact the lynch in a meaningful way so I decided to choose a player not at risk of dying and who my gut was relatively suspicious of at the time. My plan was, in the off chance that I was attacked, to lay down some evidence to support that I was actually hiding, as I knew at the time that it would not appear in the write up and thus I needed a vote to disappear to prove it. Because the Hidden role is staggered that means I am vulnerable to death every other cycle, so my intent was to both get protection for those gaps and so that I can use my Aviar's ability without having to fear dying before I can reveal the results. You might be wondering why I waited 24 hours to tell everyone this. Well, at first I thought about just saying it outright after reading the write up, but because I was never told I was attacked I wasn't sure, so I decided it would be best to spark some discussion in the thread regarding it to see if there could be another explanation. That's when luckat chimed in and explained that the Mind Force ability is similar to my own, excect that it can target others, which I had not thought of before. I thought about trying to mislead the eliminators into thinking that was the reason I survived so that they wouldn't attack me again this cycle and I wouldn't have to get protected, but then I realized that could also make me look bad because if people thought I was roleblocked by someone else then they could twist it to say that the reason no one died is because I put a kill order in, which is not what happened. I wanted to see who would actively try to figure out what happened (I'd guess that they're most likely villagers, but could be eliminators who want to mislead us) and who just avoided talking about the lack of an eliminator kill outright (something I find suspicious, personally, because as an eliminator they would have already figured out why their target didn't die, assuming it is me, and wouldn't want to give the villagers any ideas). I also wanted to see if anyone (an eliminator?) would try to implicate me knowing that the most successful way for them to get rid of me would be by lynching me, given my "reputation." Considering I've never survived a game as a villager, I know it's inevitable that I will die this game, but obviously people don't join these games just to get killed (except Stink, apparently), so I decided to use what resources I had at my disposal to delay my untimely demise. Also, PK. I'm going to vote for Kynedath again, for the same reasons I outlined yesterday with the additional evidence of him having PM'd PK claiming to be a Sori. While it's possible the GMs would make it so multiple Sori's knew the same player (effectively creating a trusted hub) I personally think that's the opposite of what any GM would want to happen in these games (apart from Water, we've all heard the arguments against Mayor games), so I think it's very likely one of the two are Traders. Now, if I put myself in a Traders perspective, I can understand establishing a PM with a random player and trying to gain their trust by pretending to be a Sori, but what I cannot understand is revealing it openly in thread along with a self vote. The former is shady and private, the perfect situation for manipulation to ripen, while the latter is unnecessarily risky. I do find it odd that of 18 players they both chose the same exact player (by now you all should know how I feel about coincidences) but personally it makes more sense to me that one of them is lying, and right now I'm leaning towards Kynedath
  11. It should be obvious why I would black text that paragraph in this game. If I were an eliminator I wouldn't make it obvious through something as simple as changing the color of my text.
  12. Where did I say people should be lynched for inactivity? I said the Contribution Crusade has some merit, due to the long game implications of letting inactives live. I also said in the same breath that I don't support it. My point is I understand why people would want to lynch an inactive for being inactive, barring better suspicions. I just don't understand you suddenly jumping on polking, especially when, as you put it, he's going to die in a couple cycles if he doesn't post anyway. It's the two most recent examples I have, and if the fact that I openly admitted the shady circumstances of those both doesn't say that I have nothing to hide, then I don't know what to tell you. Also, see LG16 where I tell people I purposely do things twice from both sides so that people can't predict how I'm going to act when I'm evil. What does phattemer's innocence have anything to do with my vote on Kynedath?
  13. Beautiful Aviar only role block other Aviar. We've already gone over the possibility of Mind Force, which if used cancels all actions that player makes and any action used against them. It is possible that someone Mind Forced someone they suspected would make the kill. Still waiting for confirmation from the GMs if this would appear in the write up or not. Direct contradiction >.> this is what I was responding to. Where are these holes in my logic, exactly? Because I don't see them.
  14. Paranoid about a player who hasn't been online since the start of the game? Personally I'm paranoid about the players who are actively participating as they have the potential to do the most damage. Not only was PK the one who initiated the lynch on phatt, but now he's acting out of character and jumping on the smallest threat - if polking even is one at all - with no reasonable evidence. Also I "jumped" on PK in a similar fashion in MR10, and even went so far to attack Orlok C1 in QF11 for the exact same thing that PK is doing now. Acting out of character and misleading the village. Granted I was an eliminator in that first example and a Serial Killer in the second, but still. I tend to do things like this early on, when all I have is my gut, inconsistencies and a few facts to work with Also, what about my responce to him was hard? Like with Kynedath in C1, he said something I didn't agree with / understand so I voted for him to instigate a response. Though I was unable to get on until late last cycle for my previous vote to impact the discussion, sadly. I think because I tend to be attacked by eliminators early, because my vote was removed which means I either hid myself or was Mind Forced, and because there was no eliminator attack in the write up. @Twei/Eol: If someone is targeted by Mind Force, are they informed in their GM PM?
  15. Paranoid King. We have a total of 18 players this game. Eliminator teams tend to include between a fifth of the game's total population (3.6) or a fourth (4.5). For that I reason there are four Traders. While it's certainly possible that one of them is the one inactive player among us, that still leaves three active players who had the opportunity to put in a kill order. I would be more inclined to believe that if no kill attempt was made it was either because the other three Traders could not access the forums when it mattered the most (within the last 12-24 hours of the cycle) or because they purposely wanted to make inactive / less active players look bad to mislead us when in actuality they are among the most active of us all. If you're going to argue that polking should be lynched for inactivity, that's one thing. The Contribution Crusade does have some merit, even if I do not support it. However the reasoning you just provided literally makes no sense when it comes to probability and statistics. We both know that you like to use math to determine a scenario's likelihood. Why are you disregarding mathematics now? Polkinghornbd is not a sure candidate for being a Trader when the last time he was on the forums was before the game had even started and PMs were sent out. If anything, I would find it more suspicious if he had shown up to the forums after and still said nothing, as last time he was evil (MR10) he didn't post once until the very last cycle, despite being active enough to read the thread and send in orders. Also, how does one get ninja'd with an 11 minute difference when you only typed four sentences? o.O EDIT: Ninja'd by luckat EDIT2: I understand the Mind Force explanation now. I had skimmed over it, assuming it was just a Soother role. I should know better than to neglect the rules =\. Also, new quick links in signature incoming.
  16. Is anyone else bothered by the fact that literally no one but Water has mentioned the fact that there was not an eliminator kill in this cycle's write up? In my opinion that seems like it should be discussed rather than danced around. I don't know if I should count him mentioning it as a point in his favor or as a strike against him quite yet - as I too have taken note of his behavior but due to this being his first game my first reaction was to give him the benefit of a doubt - but either way I think we need to discuss why that might not have happened. Reason One: No eliminators active to make the kill (or forgot). Conclusion: Unlikely. After a quick scan of the previous cycle, I noticed that every single player posted apart from polkinghornbd, so I doubt activity was an issue here. It's possible that existential circumstances prevented every member of their team from being able to get online and enter an order, but probability dictates at least one would have been active enough to realize that they could not count on their teammates that cycle and therefore take the initiative in selecting a target to kill. Generally, players keep signing up for these games because they want the opportunity to be an eliminator, so I doubt that each player selected would not care enough to let killing slip their mind. Not ruling this possibility out entirely, I just doubt this is what happened. Reason Two: Eliminators attacked a player who was protected by Death Sight or Hidden. Conclusion: Possible? I ask possible because I'm not entirely sure how these two protections work. @Twei / Eol: If a player is attacked while protected by Death Sight or Hidden, is it mentioned in the write up? Also do they receive a PM from the GM informing them that there was an attempt on their life? I'm guessing that since the Death Sight ability is precognitive in nature (similar to Voidbringer in LG15) that it would not be included, and that the same would be true for the Hidden role since it's essentially like the Explorer in MR10 where because of you actively using your ability you cannot be found by your pursuer and thus there is no conflict to speak of. Reason Three: Eliminators intentionally did not attack anyone. Conclusion: Also Possible. It's also possible the Traders decided to not attack anyone to confuse us. Once my above questions are clarified, then we can also consider that they may have just held back from attacking so that they could have one of their players claim to be attacked with the Hidden role or a Death Sight Aviar to gain the village's trust. Essentially a WGG, only without the write up to verify it, making it a bit more dangerous because then they could imply having a protective role if they actually don't. If anyone else has any other ideas or sees any connections I might have missed, please speak up, because honestly I think figuring this out would tell us a lot more information than grasping at straws to accuse one another.
  17. Just a fleeting thought, but we now know that in order to take a Shard your own personal intent needs to align with the intent of the Shard. What if the intent of the shard that the original Vessels received is a reflection of their intent in killing adonalsium? Perhaps something happened in Ati's life that resulted in a desire to see the Cosmere change (as someone put it, to start a revolution). Perhaps Bavadin was tired of a realm controlled by a single entity and wanted to bring freedom to his kin. Etc, etc. I don't have the time to think on this more in depth, but something that I've always wondered was why the Shards formed the intents they did. I can't remember the exact WoB, but didn't someone ask something along the lines of if Adonalsium was shattered in an entirely different situation than the Shards would have same intents, and Mr. Sanderson confirmed that they would not have. In my mind, that theory makes the most sense, both due to our understanding of how magic is affected by the Cognitive aspect of men and how well it foreshadows the greater narrative, much like how Ym's beliefs aligned rather accurately with what happened to Adonalsium.
  18. Ladies, gentleman. Sorry for my absence so far. Not going to lie but life's been a bit hectic lately. Can barely seem to find the time to sleep. Would love an unkeyed bronzemind right about now. Sadly that means I won't be able to fit in any analysis this cycle, though I should be able to tackle it soon and hopefully find a connection or two to help point us in the right direction. At first I had considered abstaining from voting since I barely have a grasp of what's going on right now, however one thing that caught my attention was Kynedath's reason for not voting this cycle. A trend I've noticed recently is that a lot of times its villagers who spearhead D1 lynches on one another while eliminators actively hold themselves back so that they don't implicate themselves unnecessarily. Logic and the law of probability dictates that a reoccurring theme such as this would happening again, so I'm going to apply some pressure on him for admitting that he did not want to get involved despite knowing the importance of it. In my opinion, it seems more like he's trying to formulate an excuse to exonerate himself from acting shady. Also, I'm not so fond of this overabundance of talk regarding Aviar, particularly Hellscythe's attempts at publicly cracking some codes (like mine, for example). That being said, he missed quite a few word repeats, either accidently or intentionally, which to me suggests that he is innocent because he either doesn't care enough to honestly figure it out or he's actively trying to mislead people into guessing wrong code words. I suppose he could do either from an eliminator's perspective as well, but I'm leaning more towards him being trustworthy this game. Not that I actually do trust him, mind you, just a thought that crossed my mind and I'd rather be open with the few things I have reasoned then hoard all my ideas to myself. Phatt (3): PK, Arraenae, Mailliw SilverDragon (2): Shallan, Water Shallan (2): Clanky, Elkanah Kynedath (2): Elbereth, Adavantos Maill (1): Luckat, Lopen Ada (1): Stink
  19. I'm pretty sure the GMs are going to rule this loophole business out and not count it. I don't think I'm the only person of the opinion that it literally ruins the fun of the most unique mechanic of this game.

  21. Saludan Leiken was, literally and figuratively, walking on cloud nine. Investiture leaked out from the soles of his bare feet, intermingling with the coalescence of water vapor that traversed the atmosphere and strengthening its Connection with other molecules of its kind. Once Khriss had explained the scientific process involved in what he did, but as with all of her attempts at instructing him he hardly listened. He did, however, remember that if not for the fact that his body was mostly made of water itself than he would be unable to stride upon the skies, as he often dared and adored to do. It was a Thrill in its own right, a Thrill uncorrupted by the Unmade, even on Roshar. The Thrill of Absolute Freedom. The Thrill of Adventure. It was that sense of exploration, of wandering where few men could; of seeing the world - or worlds, as he now understood - from an alien perspective, that gave his life purpose. If not for the burning desire to discover every inch of Roshar that he stoked as a youth, he would have never run away from Alethkar, never witnessed the fall of Jah Keved, never met or befriended the Lost Heir before he was truly Lost, never been gifted his Birthright or sworn himself to Nereim… never become a Radiant; a Worldhopper; a Hero. Though some of his kin hated him for abandoning his homeworld in its time of need, he, and a few others, understood what he did now was much more noble. Any man could take up arms and fight for his own realm. But to leave and put his life at risk for total strangers? Now that… that was what a real hero would do, in his honest opinion, regardless of ulterior motives. Sure, he didn’t have much love for his planet. Even before he knew of Odium he could taste the taint he left upon the land. It pervaded each of his senses, threatening to suffocate the happiness right out of him. Though it was nowhere near as dreary as Scadrial was in its anteverdant days, it was enough to drive him away for good. If he could have chosen any world to call his home it would have been Nalthis. Ever since he first laid his eyes on it he knew it would hold his heart forever. Everything about it, from its vibrant colors to its creative twist on Investiture, seemed more suited to him than any other. If not for his vows he would have remained there forever, but sadly it was not large enough to entertain his attention for long, though he did resolve to return when he was ready to retire. He found Khriss again on Threnody, homeworld of her assistant, Nazh. They did not stay there for long, fortunately. Though the other man was fond of it Sal could hardly say the same. It’s overabundance of Cognitive Shadows was disheartening at best, especially what with their tendency to act unnecessarily violent towards anyone who dares break some ridiculous rule or other. They split up then, Sal tasked with his own mission that involved something Khriss called a Temporal Irregularity. A true mystery, she claimed. Something unlike anything she had witnessed before. He didn’t even hesitate before jumping in. Almost wish he did, for the next thing he knew, he was on some island in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by a wide variety of deadly - albeit pretty - beasts that lusted to taste his flesh. After nearly having been eaten for the third time he had no choice but to take the high ground, or in his case low clouds. Besides the strange, magical birds that occasionally ventured up here he never ran into one of those monsters again. Sal did, however, run into another kind of monster eventually. Humans; and the native kind at that. Some of them seemed amiable enough, but having met as many people as he had it was easy for himto recognize the avarice in some of their eyes. Greed was a powerful sin, it was. Especially when Investiture was involved, not that they really understood what that was, let alone that it was what the the thing there were yearning for. Occasionally he would stop by their little encampment. More often than not they would watch him walk the clouds, jealous of his power. To make it easier for them to understand, he asked Nereim to show herself in the form of a bird unlike one they’ve ever seen, one capable of gifting him the power to walk on water. God Beyond, how they thirst for her. If only they knew she could never be theirs. Eventually he knew he'd have to join them if he wanted to truly understand this planet. Sal could only see so much of Patji from up above, what with the thick canopies blocking most of my view of the island beneath. Sighing, he whistled for Nereim, and the Aviar she herself attracted, to return to his side so that he may begin descending again. After disappearing for a couple days he was sure they were eager to hear about the things he'd seen, and honestly, he'd be lying if he weren’t a bit curious to listen to whatever they had to offer in return. EDITED BECAUSE I TOOK A BREAK HALFWAY AND COMPLETELY SWITCHED FROM THIRD PERSON TO FIRST, LOL
  22. Adavantos. When the Mortician scans my corpse, I hope they'll figure out who the Traitor is who attacked me. It is very likely he is voting for me now with hopes of covering it up. I just hope when you see the list you'll figure out who the body guard is who protected me. Once you see the whole list it should be obvious (and no it's not Kipper or Stink). Just make sure to keep it a secret, because if you don't they will likely die soon after. I'd give you a hint but I don't want to compromise their identity. Thank you and good luck village.
