  1. I just want to say that knowing Kipper is a Beggar, I had him follow me night one. I scanned another player who happened to be another Snitch. This is the same one who scanned me N1, and scanned Kipper N2. Kipper knows for a fact that the result is accurate because he himself received the results that I followed said player and because he received the relevant note. Also I was told ahead of time by Phatt that he was in contact with another Snitch who was scanning me. Kipper had no knowledge of this, let alone who that player was nor that I had the order in to scan them. Therefore he could not make up said claim unless either phatt or said Snitch were evil themselves, which is a possibility, but I doubt they'd bother throwing one of their own under the bus this early. As for why they went after HS and not Mark or Snitch#3, I suspect its because A: Mark is their snitch, or they at least want it to seem that way (personally I think this Mark and Kipper are Traitors and had this all planned out. In this theory Mark is not actually Blind but just had it prepared as an excuse so Kipper could back pedal to get him out of harms way) and B: because they knew they couldn't kill me, I would immediately out the only players who knew said player was a Snitch, which would narrow it down to Phatt and Kipper. All evidence points to Kipper being evil, and to a lesser extent, Mark. Personally I think both are worthy of dying this cycle (one to a lynch, the other assassination). I knew something was wrong early on last day turn and voted for Kipper for a reason; his reaction to said vote would have told me to keep it on him, but I let other evidence (which was probably fallible) sway me. Being a man who bases they're entire life on probabilities of success, I did not, and still do not believe, that Kipper received a note that said Meta was a Traitor Beggar while Meta was actually a Beggar and Kipper was probably the Traitor Beggar himself. The fact that Meta and I had to drag him out to vote for him, while he was the only player whose vote did not count because he was searching, suggests to me that he knew something was up and didn't want to fall into a trap. Also the fact that he has no results to share with me last night suggests because Mark and him have a plan to claim him being roleblocked with Duct Tape by the eliminators. So, Mark? Did you get "role blocked." If not who did you send your note to, and can said player confirm they received it? Kipper? Why do you think you got no results last night?
  2. Meta's last post, in case anyone missed it: Hellscythe and Mark IV claimed to use their ability on Metacognition. Since they did not vote for him, they should still appear on the list of players who visited him for the Mortician. Therefore if you are a Mortician and you see that either of them did not visit him, that means they lied and are very likely Traitors. While I want to agree with Meta's last assessment, I basically ruined said plan by advocating that players do not vote for Meta apart from Kipper, Clanky and myself. They may have just been listening to my advice, but they also may have been Traitors not wanting to fall into a trap, as he suggests above. So for that, I am sorry. That being said I also promise to avenge you. For everyone's knowledge, the Living Legend side role makes it so anyone who voted for him cannot take use an action the following night. Therefore expect no new notes from tomorrow morning. That being said, I have some valuable information, however I am still waiting on some confirmation from the relevant parties before I can announce the results in thread. All of you should expect a PM from me shortly to confirm if my guess at a 75% success rate was right.
  3. Meta admitted to being a Beggar. It would be one thing if he said he was an entirely different role, but he didn't. The likelihood of the one player replacing him happening to be the same role but opposite alignment, to me, seems incredibly unlikely. I don't believe in coincidences. I believe he did not expect to be followed by another Beggar, proving that he was not a Compulsive Liar. I believe he was found out and he thought his best excuse would be that, and as soon as Hellscythe revealed to disprove that he realized there was no defense left for him. Plus, the tone of the post where he votes for himself, and his post after, seems ridden with impure intent. Would a Villager who was accused evil by a Traitor really announce that they got lucky? No. It makes no sense that they would. A villager would have most likely said something like "you're all making a terrible mistake for believing this." And now this point is unnecessary since Meta just ninja'd me, proving my point. Come on, man, you're killing me. This is twice today that you have failed to read between the lines. Why do you think I would want you to not search and vote for Meta instead, rather than any other player? The fact that I have to address something like this again defeats any effort I've made so far to try and protect you.
  4. I just clarified this. Blind players are not guaranteed to fail. It appears you succeeded in both targets, especially now that Meta has admitted to being a Traitor (am I reading his statement wrong?). Once again, he just admitted to being evil. At the very least I don't understand why he wouldn't fight it until the end, saying something along the lines of "since it has been proven I'm not a Compulsive Liar and you are all about to see I'm innocent, I suggest that you look at these players for these reasons" instead of what effectively boils down to "and I almost would have gotten away for it too if it weren't for that meddling Kipper!" I once again have to reiterate that Meta is not a Compulsive Liar unless Hellscythe was lying about having tracked him and received the result Clanky, and given his reaction to it I have no reason to believe that Hellscythe was not telling the truth (unless he is a Traitor as well and it was decided that he throw him under the bus in order to gain trust - I, however, doubt this because that would either mean that they began with two Beggars or Hellscythe effectively outed himself as a Traitor for no reason because now we are going to expect him to tell us accurate results every cycle). Since we still have a couple hours left I want to propose that for sure neither Mark or Hellscythe vote for Meta. That way we can have a Mortician scan his corpse to confirm if either of them are telling the truth about visiting him. If either do not appear to have visited him than it is proven they lied and they are likely a Traitor too. If it turns out Mark lied then for sure Kipper would be caught in a lie as well. I do, however, suggest that Kipper, Clanky and myself for sure vote for him. Kipper because of his insistence not to vote for him, Clanky due to the fact that Meta said he followed him and got no result of an action taken, and myself because I am both a proven Snitch and confirmed to have used my note on a player other than Meta. Therefore if us three appear on his corpse it'll be due to the lynch and the lynch alone. If all other votes are retracted and the Traitors do not have enough vote manipulation to tie it then he's guaranteed to die and we receive the best results.
  5. Was in the process of making my own vote tally when I realized I never retracted my vote from Burnt. Vote on Meta still stands. (6) Meta: Kipper (1), Clanky (1), Hellscythe (1), Phatt (1), Phatt (2), Clanky (2), Adavantos (3), Orlok (1), Twei (2), Meta (1), (1) Kipper: Adavantos (1), Stink (1), Mailliw (2), (0) Burnt: Adavantos (2), (0) Shallan: Mailliw (1), (1) Stink: Hellscythe (2) (0) Kynedath: Twei (1), (1) Adavantos: Mailliw (3), (1) Hellscythe: Elbereth (1), Is this you admitting to being a Traitor, then? Because honestly I don't understand why you'd post that otherwise... See above quote from Meta. It appears he's admitting to being evil. So why are you not trying to lynch him anymore? Also, Blind Snitch's aren't guaranteed to fail either target. It's a 50% chance for each. So 50% of success that the player they are scanning is right and 50% the player they are sending the note to is right. Just because he succeeded in sending the note to the right target does not mean he failed scanning the right player. Also, as I said before, I find it highly unlikely that Meta just happened to be the same role as what the scan said but the alignment was fudged, as a 5% chance of hitting a player with the same role and opposite alignment is just way too low. @Stink, Hellscythe, Mailliw and Elbereth. Please either retract your votes or search for an item this cycle (or switch to Meta if you would prefer). Like I proposed D1, when it comes to lynching our decision needs to be coordinated to maximize the potential of our Morticians. Has anyone voting for Meta put in the order to search? Because if he's now admitted to being a Traitor, the sooner we kill him the better - especially if he IS a Beggar. That is great role for the Traitors to have as it can net them information they would otherwise not have.
  6. Combination of questions I asked the GM upon receiving my role and context clues. When I received my role it said Blind Snitch. When Phatt revealed that it did not say Blind, I wrote in a paragraph just that. Redact first half of above line meant to say when phatt revealed my alignment. Phatt then corrected me clarifying that it did not say Blind. I assumed that he did not correct the color because that was right. I then asked clarification from Kipper as I noticed the inconsistency too. Therefore I did not know the "format of the notes." Evidence from thread: Also,Meta. Why? Kipper received a note from a Blind Snitch revealing Meta was an evil Beggar. Meta admitted to being a beggar but not evil: blamed Compulsive Liar or unknown role. Hellscythe revealed that Meta does not have Compulsive Liar due to accurate tracking result. Meta insists he isn't evil and tries to blame it on an unknown. Chances of Blind Snitch switching Meta's scan to an evil Beggar is 1/19 (~5%). I don't like those odds and expressed suspicion of him Day 1. If Meta dies and turns out evil, HS + my Beggar are essentially cleared. If they continue to produce accurate results then we know they didn't just reveal his. Clanky would be soft cleared as well, because why follow a teammate? If Meta dies and turns out good, we now are aware of two other Beggars worthy of scrutiny.
  7. I know I said I was going to bed but I've been having a lot of trouble sleeping lately, so here I am. I will try to keep this short though since I really do need to fall asleep. Because this is the only part directly relevant to me, I'll go ahead and explain why I did what I did. If you look at the last three games where I ended up being a villager (MR9 LG15b, AG2) I was killed relatively early. Both in MR9 and AG2 I was killed on the second night either because the eliminators thought I was paying more attention to the game than others which was bad for them or because I had been the first player scanned (presumably for the same reason, though I never asked the Seeker why they chose me). In LG15b, the doc considered me for a target until I revealed that I was a Voidbringer (which was a lie) so that I could get as involved in that game as I wanted to without fearing an attack. They could have called my bluff, but fortunately they did not, expecting that even if I was lying I was being protected by an Elantrian (which was exactly what happened for a few cycles until he revealed to me and I told him to protect someone else). Anyway, in this game compared to all of those, I got a role that I believed was valuable enough that dying early would do an extra amount of harm to the village (as of course, at the time, I had no idea how many Snitches there were, let alone if they could be trusted) and so I made sure to make it painfully obvious what I was. My intent? To draw the intention of both a Bodyguard and the Traitors, which culminated into exactly what happened last night; a full cycle spent where everyone who had a role could use it without any of my teammates dying. Am I worthy of suspicion? Certainly. It's a bold move that few players make, let alone often, though I suspect it might become a thing considering how well it ended up working. But as was just stated, phattemer received a note from a Snitch saying that I am indeed a Blind Snitch and therefore any suspicion accrued on me is wasted. If you want to keep thinking I'm evil, go ahead, but I promise there's other players more worthy of being analyzed if your end goal truly is to find the Traitors.
  8. Because I believe in innocent until proven guilty, and it's a great way to gain information / organize the village? One thing I've realized is that it's much easier to win as villagers if players approach these games with a certain mindset. Look at it this way; would you, in real life, condemn someone to death based on little information or just words alone? Eliminators are always going to be trying to manipulate and kill us. Why should we do their job for them? If we can communicate with one another with some semblance of trust (not all, of course) but enough to organize ourselves like a real village, doesn't that make it much easier for us to figure things out? I am just one player. I can only do so much. Same applies to everyone. If you wanted, Stink, you could literally do nothing but search for an item every day and night and maybe eventually all by yourself get the materials to compose a device on your own before you die. But there's a reason a trading system is in place; to give us an incentive to organize, and the Traitors another way to control us. That is why I am doing the item thing with Phatt. I know I'm good, and by helping out with said conglomerate I can watch for shady goings ons and report it accordingly. And if it turns out he's good and we're able to establish a working system where devices get built sooner rather than later and put into the right hands / used efficiently and carefully, then at the end of the day the Traitors jobs are that much more difficult, hopefully pushing them to try harder.
  9. Okay, so, phattemer is the third party I was referring to when I said I was told another Snitch was going to be scanning me. Considering that makes three notes that have been received, then I suspect that either the note sent to Kipper that was not mine is from a Traitor with a Street Performer or Mirror on their team, or phattemer's a Traitor trying to get me to trust him by claiming he's in cahoots with another Snitch. Needless to say, Elbereth, although nobody has died quite yet, it seems a lot more than nothing has happened so far. Right now, I'm inclined to believe that for sure one of the following players is evil, if not more: Meta, Hellscythe, Kipper or phattemer. There seems to me a lot more evidence stacked against Meta, and I would really like to hear him defend himself from HS' role and result reveal, but I also suspect that one of the other two Snitch's are either evil or not real.
  10. Because deciding openly who we're going to snitch on leaves it open to interference. Let's refer to AG2 real quick where the Spiked killed off every player that came out as being scanned good by the Seeker. What's to stop them from just killing whoever we say we are about to scan so that we waste a night? In addition to that this game has redirection abilities, so if the Traitors have a Street Performer then they could just change whoever the Snitch targets to another player, meaning that when the note is received it would say the player who the order was put in on (in this scenario, Hellscythe) but the results would be the alignment and role of the player it was redirected to (let's say you, Stink). Understand why that's a problem?
  11. Well one Snitch (me) is talking to Kip (I'm literally talking to everyone), but I did not send in the order for him to receive my note. It was just random chance that lead to him getting my note. Unless he's lying about receiving it and someone else comes forward to say that they received a player's alignment and role last night. As for the other, I have no idea why they chose to send their note to Kipper, let alone why they chose to scan Meta. I was informed by a third party last night that another Snitch had planned on scanning me to make sure I was being honest about my alignment and role, but apparently that didn't happen unless there's three of us running around. As for your last statement, Stink, two people didn't follow Clanky. Hellscythe followed Meta and was told he targeted Clanky. Meta followed Clanky and was told Clanky targeted no one.
  12. Because it would tell Hellscythe Meta followed someone else, but before Hellscythe announced he was a Beggar Meta announced he was a Beggar too who followed Clanky. Hellscythe got the same result, which means it's impossible for Meta to be a Compulsive Liar. The only other possibility in favor of Meta being good is that this other Snitch is Blind just like me, which means they chose to scan Meta but the coin flip changed whose role and alignment was actually revealed. But even then, the odds of that are so astronomically low because that would mean out of 18 players, the Traitor Beggar just happened to be chosen to replace Meta's information. Unless someone else has an explanation, I think I'm going to have to agree with lynching Meta... though I still think this was too easy, and am concerned that even if Meta turns out to be a Traitor that either Kipper or Hellscythe are on his team and intentionally throwing him under the bus to gain trust.
  13. I can't speak for the other Snitch, but I'm intentionally trying to keep my scans unpredictable. The reason I did not scan Meta is because it was obvious to me that a Traitor would interfere with it if they had the power to do so. Same thing applies for the player I tried to send the note to; before saying this, I doubt anyone would be able to guess either of my targets last night. Therefore if I do end up scanning Kipper it will be at a stage in the game where I'm confident my results will be accurate. As for your plan, I suppose it is sound enough, though I agree with Elbereth's most recent post that there are a ton of things that could be happening here, and acting hastily just because we have some information to work with (from a potentially fallible source) is not wise. At this point I'd rather talk to Meta, Kipper, and whoever this second Snitch is first before I act on this result. Otherwise we might walk straight into a trap laid by the eliminators and set ourselves back. For that reason I will back off of Kipper for now, and place my vote on Burnt Spaghetti for the following reasons. First, like every player in this game, I sent you a PM last night in order to collect data on the item distribution. You answered relatively quick, though didn't express suspicion of me until a couple messages later for asking. What I don't understand with that is why share information with me if you think I might be a Traitor phishing for information? Now, if you lied to me (which I expect nearly every player did), I can understand that. But as soon as I mentioned that other players who were going around asking similar questions to me and that I had already caught a couple players lying to different players, you instantly ask me for their names and if I'd like you to send them a message to see if they lie a third time. All I told you were the three players who were gathering intel (Phatt, Mailliw and Kipper), the first of which posted openly in the thread, the following two already being known for doing just that. I did not tell you, however, the names of the players I caught in lies, as honestly I thought your desire to get involved in that was peculiar. Then, not too much later I hear from another player that you think I'm a Traitor because I was aggressive with you in my PM - which I certainly was not. I sent every player nearly identical message (only altered to fit whether or not they voted or post D1) which I had tailored with the intent to express that they didn't have to share any of their information with me and that I'd ask for no more than numbers. This turn I saw you viewing the thread and yet you still have not posted. Surely you have to have some thoughts on what's happened so far, right? I understand that you're on a vacation with your family at the moment with limited internet and so I won't hold that against you, however, when I see you online viewing the thread multiple times, and know that you're capable of sending PMs, it makes me wonder why you haven't spoken up in public yet. If you're suspicious of me, honestly, confront me for it. Preferably in public, as it doesn't really help to hide that sort of thing behind closed doors. If you're suspicious of anybody, let them know now so that they can respond accordingly. This goes for all the players who haven't posted this turn. Like Orlok, for example; I know it's tough to juggle two games at once, but you have to have something to say about last night, right? Or how about you, Elkanah and Kynedath? Mailliw? Stink?
  14. ... Well, that was close. I bluffed to a couple players that I had found a Bodyguard and even RP'd that I had two, when in actuality none of them claimed to me. I was hoping it'd keep the Traitors from attacking me, much like when I claimed Voidbringer in LG15b. Looks like they called my bluff, but fortunately a Bodyguard did decide to protect me, despite not trusting me enough to tell me ahead of time. Now that they've saved my life, I hope they believe I am what I say I am. If I were a Traitor, having myself attacked without guaranteed protection would just be too risky of a play to gain a loyal Bodyguards trust. Of course, we shouldn't ignore the possibility that there's a Traitor Bodyguard and that this was a WGG - but it appears that since no one else brought it up yet that the general consensus is that's not what happened. It definitely isn't, but I thought I should be the first to bring it up. No, Meta was not my target; that would have been Snitch #2. I almost want to believe Meta when he says the scan is not accurate. I just get the distinct impression that it was too easy, which makes me incredibly wary. I should also inform everyone that Kipper was not who I chose to send my note too. Given I'm blind it's possible he received it, however, I find the following paragraph of his incredibly suspicious, particular the parts I am about to emphasize in bold. I did NOT tell anyone who I was scanning, especially not Kipper. Therefore I fail to understand how he knows the first note is from me. Right now I'm getting the distinct impression that he's just too eager about killing Meta. During a conversation I had with Kipper last night, he told me he expected both Meta and I would receive protection. I'm starting to think that Kipper might be trying to play us; what if he were a Traitor and knew Meta was innocent? He could make up a fake claim about finding out he's a Traitor Beggar and when Meta's lynched and proven innocent he can just blame it on some external circumstances, like in the following paragraph. They're good enough excuses that he might be able to weasel his way out of a lynch. After all, look at Clanky's defense of him. If players think this way then it makes it a great move to make. It puts him in the limelight while being able to have excuses to get him out of it. I just don't know. I'd rather wait a few cycles to scan Meta myself; that way if someone else gets the same result, we know it's true (because if Meta did have the Compulsive Liar side role then it would come back different; also, if the role I learn from it is his actual role and he can prove it to me, then that'd prove that Kipper was just lying outright to get him killed. I also agree with this statement. I feel like this is another 'Wilson outs herself to stagnate discussion' situation. Kipper, why reveal these results so soon? This is a 48 hour cycle. You could have given us at least 12 to pursue suspicions of our own before coming out like that. Also, aren't you still concerned about the Traitors trying to kill you? Last night you mentioned that you expected to die soon, and yet just now you openly claim that you're in contact with not one, but two Snitches, who apparently trust you enough to send them their results? Doesn't that seem incredibly reckless and contradictory of your fear of death?
  15. Oh yay! So my assumption was right. Okay, cool. So we don't really need to worry about that, then, unless there's a lot of Compulsive Liars running around. Anyway, it's getting rather late for me (1:23am as I type), meaning it's only a little bit over four hours from me being awake for 24 hours. I was hoping that I could stay awake long enough to finish gathering this data together, but at least the PMs are sent, so if the remaining few get on before turn over and reply I can fill in the gaps of the follow chart. Began with Item: 8 / 14 players began with an item (57%) 6 / 14 players began with no item (43%) 2 / 19 players would not say (10.5%) 3 / 19 players have not responded (16%) Assumption: 50% players began with item Searched for Item: 8 / 11 players found an item (72%) 3 / 11 players failed to find an item (28%) 6 / 19 players forgot to search (31.5%) 2 / 19 players have not responded (10.5%) Assumption: ~75% success rate Some people might not find this information useful, but it was something that crossed my mind. Since there's little else for us to discuss yet (hopefully that'll change soon) I figured trying to tease out the details regarding items would be a good way to spend this turn, and I would rather everyone have this information available. Another interesting thing to note; one player claimed that they forgot to search (could be a lie) but they're vote still did not count in the write up despite them never retracting it, which means it was either Smooth Talked, placed on a player with the Trusted side role, or the Shadow Leader nullified the lynch. EDITED BECAUSE THE TABLE DID NOT TRANSLATE OVER PROPERLY :[
  16. Hmm. That's a good point. I had assumed that side role only counted if you directly tried to scan them, not if you were scanning a dead player that they visited, but I can see that. @Alvron: Can you clarify? That being said, it's a hidden role, so even if they have a Compulsive Liar it would take one of them getting scanned something they know isn't right to figure that out. I also imagine that Alvron would balance it out by making said Compulsive Liar having a useful active ability so that they have to debate between using it and making the kill themselves
  17. Yawning loudly, Mr. Durbin fell back into his antique leather recliner, happy to finally have a moment to himself for respite. It was a fine piece of furniture, an Arthur Chesterfield original, with a tufted wingback style, milled front legs and a decorative brass nailhead trim; just like his father, and his father's father, had before the Great Transfersion. Prior to Steelheart's reign it required a miracle to obtain a chair not alchemized into steel, let alone one as comfy as this. Needless to say, it took many years for Michael to posture himself among the mortal nobility, earning enough wealth and acquiring the connections needed to get his hands on such a fine throne for his humble abode. Settling in, the elderly man sighed contently, his eyelids finally settling over his opaque iris' as he began to drift towards sleep. It was then, just as he walked along the precipice of unconsciousness, that a great clanging began resonating from his front door. Instantly his mind snapped to attention, any semblance of weariness that remained dissipating like a cloud of mist being blown away by the wind. "Come in!" he called, having anticipated this meeting. It was the last of many he had scheduled tonight; a young man not too much younger than Drake who was in desperate need of a Mentor. Michael did not bother to rise. Though he wasn't nearly as frail a man as he feigned himself to be, it was simply easier that he acted the way people expected him too. They asked less questions that way, and were all the more easy to manipulate. "Kelvin, is it? Please, take a seat. Don't be shy. If you're to be my disciple, then you're going to have to get used to this office, and fast. This, after all, is where all the magic happens." Kelvin nodded his head as he approached Michael's desk, his movements audibly soft; timid. He seemed to hesitate before pulling his own chair out - this one composed of pure steel - and sitting down. "I'm not even sure..." he said dryly, licking his lips as if it might help ease the words out between them. Michael tilted his head inquisitively. After a few seconds of the boy not finishing the older man decided to speak up for him. "You're not even sure if you should be here, right?" Michael asked. "Afraid that the Traitors will find out you're applying to work under me and afraid they might kill you for it, eh? Well let me tell you something, boy. You'll be fine. I'll have you know it's safe here. Hell, this room right here is probably the safest room in Newcago right now. You saw the two guards armed with Epictech on your way in, yes?" Kelvin nodded. "Then what do you have to worry about? Do you honestly think anyone could get at us in here so long as their packing that kind of heat?" The boy shook his head. "Good. So tell me, what about being a Professional Informant interests you?" "Professional Informant?" Kelvin frowned. "That's not what everyone else calls you..." "Son, a Snitch is someone who passes out other people's personal business for no one's benefit but their own. I, and anyone who decides to train under me, operate much more honorably than that. Learning things and making sure that knowledge gets into the right hands... that's my life's purpose. And it's a mighty fulfilling one at that. Sure, every day doesn't always end in glory. I'd be lying if I said I haven't spent a night or two pinned down in a dark alley, fists and feet beating into me from every imaginable angle. But believe me. It's worth it. I can't even count how many innocent lives I've saved - and rotten men I've condemned - doing what I do. And I'm sure you wouldn't be here right now if you didn't want to do it too." Michael's enthusiasm must have been infectious as Kelvin immediately began to perk up a bit, feeling more confident about his decision to come here tonight. "Look," Michael continued. "You're not the only one. Everyone wants to do something - to be something - important. Study under me and I will make sure you become something so much more than you are now. Hell, if you've got enough guts, you might even carve yourself a better legacy than my own among the annals of history. How's that sound?" Kelvin didn't respond, though despite being blind, Michael could have sworn he saw the shine of Kelvin's smile just then. Who needed words when met with a grin as wide and bright as that? "Alright, good. First thing tomorrow I want you to eat a big old breakfast; load up on as much carbs as you can handle, son, cause tomorrow's going to be a rightfully busy day. You aren't the first kid that I've taken under my wing, so don't worry, you won't be spending your entire day alone with a grumpy old man. All three of us will be meeting up in front of HQ at 8; pack light and make sure you're not late. Got it?" "Got it, sir. Thank you so much for this opportunity," he bowed. "Oh now, enough of that. Go on, get. Don't you know it's past my bed time?"
