  1. This may not be what Illwei was getting at, but I too was confused by your Mat stance. Just to clarify, you're mind-melding / agreeing with Mat, but not reading him as Village due to paranoia, right? Follow-up question if Yes: do you believe E!Mat would be able to say things V!Stick thinks?
  2. Since it's a popular enough topic, I might as well say a lil more about why I straight up am village reading Archer. Even knowing that he has a history of being a bold, gambit happy elim, I'd be extremely surprised if that were the case here. An elim claiming to be a village Epic without knowing whether or not village Epics really exist is insanely risky. Maybe not in the short term, but after enough flips without seeing another one, it'd undoubtedly come back to bite him. Based on tone and direction alone, Archer's approach reads like a Villager with minimal information sharing what little he does know with hopes of gathering more info. I'd probably do the same thing in his shoes.
  3. Oh, don't worry about pushing me I'm going to be relaxed no matter what y'all do, the main thing I'm focusing on is how I play and reply to peeps. Shorter, more concise posts, less involvement and no leading. Perfectly happy to receive questions, though I may not answer them fully. Because I believe he's an Epic-- and not the village kind of Epic. If you want my specific reasons, I'm keeping it between Blink and me for now.
  4. Teaching Assistant, duh. I should have got that one Mat has stood out to me a few times, yeah. I'm trying to figure out if the reason I didn't understand why people sused Coral Swan on our last game's D1 is only because I had Elim TMI (Mat was Coral, right?). As of right now, he's my preferred exe, though I'd also be cool with Dannnex for lesser reasons. Fair enough.
  5. TA mode? I believe Archer is a Village Epic, though I don't necessarily believe what he's revealed about his role. Probably won't think more about it until we have more info from the exe (or a lack of info, which is info in a way). I also believe The Unknown Aon is a Regular Villager, but that's it for my reads on people involved with the discussion. Other things have caught my attention more. Very curious about this if you ever figure out why. Hi Ash! NGL, when I made that vote count, I was tempted to @ Archer myself to ask if he'd join us
  6. Sadly, Blink is shy, so he and I will be chilling out and observing from the periphery. I'm trying to convince him that you're nice people and won't try to hurt him because of his... you know. Condition. But for some reason, the boy has a history of being hunted and kidnapped, so it may take some time for him to gather the courage to introduce himself. In the meantime, I'll mostly be watching rather than talking while I keep him company. I'll gladly respond to direct questions though. Here's my vote and a vote count. (3) Matrim: Ashbringer, Araris, Amanuensis, (2) Illwei: Striker, Archer, (2) Archer: Thaidakar, Karnatheon, (1) Dannnex: Matrim, (1) Ashbringer: Devotary, (1) Tani: Stick, (1) Araris: Experience, (1) Stick: Illwei, (1) Karnatheon: Kasimir,
  7. "Justification is just so much cleaner, isn't it? Spacing can become a problem if one uses long words too frequently, but for the sake of beauty, the effort can be afforded to strike a balance. Good to know at least one person on this ship has some good taste." 'Genis! Are you bonding with someone right now? I'm so proud of you.' "Save your pride," he whispered. "I'm only pretending to bond so that this other Kanvar might trust me enough to slip up in my presence. Friendship is for the weak-willed, and my will is anything but weak. I don't need anyone." 'You don't... need anyone? Not even me?' Hearing the simulated emotion in the A.I.'s voice, Genis was nearly taken aback. "Well, I certainly don't need you. But I do want you, I suppose." '...Really? If so, then couldn't you want a friend too?" "Nonsense. They would only drag me down. Drag us down." 'I think you might be surprised how much good a friend can do. For our mission, and for you.' "Bah! I will play nice and remain open to allies, but that's it. Got it?" Instead of responding, an electric hum caressed the boy's mind. G's way of saying, 'We'll see.'
  8. "I'm not so certain about that, Kanvar. Why do you feel the need to go by two names? That suggests to me a duplicitous nature. Almost like that of a Traitor." 'Genis. My friend. I know you realize this, but I feel a need to point out the game has not yet begun.' "Bah. Doesn't mean I trust him. I haven't even seen the man before, and I've studied every one of The Survivor's personnel files extensively. You know this. And so I ask: where did you come from, Kanvar? If that is your real name."
  9. Signing up as Genis, a too-smart-for-his-age, much-too-haughty, too-antisocial twelve-year-old and prodigal son of the late, great computer scientist, Turing, who invented many of the computer systems that run The Survivor. Before his father died (seemingly from natural causes), Turing managed to finish his life's work - a pair of computerized glasses equipped with an artificial intelligence named G.E.N.I.U.S. - and hid them somewhere only his son could find by solving a complex series of riddles and puzzles scattered around the ship. Upon their reunion, Genis learned his father was, in fact, murdered. Together, they are now on a mission to locate the culprit and bring them to justice. Character traits include: Thinks he's smarter than everyone and confidently acts like it, despite the fact most of his skills, observations, and knowledge come from his father's AI, not his own talents. Doesn't often bother explaining himself or his actions because "You just wouldn't get it," or, "I'm playing 5th Dimensional Chess and you're playing on a 2D computer screen." Despite all that, is still an insecure, lonely, and grieving orphan whose only remaining connection to his father is the A.I. he created for him. Fortunately, G is a pretty great role model, often responsible for reigning back his unfounded arrogance and unintentional rudeness; inadvertently teaching the human boy empathy, of all things. "I will be playing this game entirely in character. As Genis, I will address posts that catch my interest, or people who directly speak to me, with simple and straightforward dialogue. Should I ask or answer any questions, it may be terse and direct. The goal is to have smaller, more frequent interactions with players or provide commentary rather than excessively large essays. As such, I may not be entirely open with all my thoughts." 'However, G will engage Genis with my own more accurate, more reasonable opinions in purple text. This will help differentiate my perspective of the game outside of RP lens more clearly, both to ensure there's little confusion and make it easier for players to find the important details.'
  10. I'll sign up as Blink, a ten-year-old Epic who can only be perceived while he can see you, named for the way he pops in and out of reality every time he flutters his eyes. Sometimes when he falls asleep, Blink wakes up in random places around the world. He's very shy and hasn't found a way back home in years. Much like Kas, I'm aiming for a chill game, so none of my usual giant posts or anything more than minimal analysis. I'll be moving back to the U.S. in the next week or two so my activity may be low or sporadic during the transition. When I can be around, I'm mostly hoping to vibe with casual RP and friendly banter.
  11. Sun be praised, I have a lot to catch up on. Sorry for my absence, everyone. My internet has been giving my fiance and I severe problems lately, and two more of my uncles are unfortunately not in good health because of the pandemic. Life seems to be normalizing for the moment, however, so I'm going to work on reading through everything I missed.
  12. Upon looking at LG56, I believe that you've proven my point for me, Ventyl. That's the game where I claimed Kandra and lied about an alignment scan to keep myself alive, yes? As an eliminator, parity means victory, therefore losing a single elim makes winning significantly more difficult for their team. I would not put my life at risk so carelessly.
  13. This feels like fearmongering, which is one of the reasons I stopped playing in the first place I understand why you may feel the need to double down on me, Ventyl, since you're on your way to being lynched, but it should be fairly obvious that I'm not an eliminator. If I was an eliminator, I would have kept my vote on Illwei or Bearing for self-preservation's sake. I did not realize Bearing was a new player, but once that became apparent, I decided to sacrifice myself to keep them alive. Not to mention that no one attempted to save my life; only illwei changed their vote, who was proven a villager, and Somebody, who was voting for me initially.
  14. It's fairly common for eliminators to hang out in the background when their ally's lives aren't on the line. This is why it's important for villagers to actively contribute as often as they can, in order to give elims less room to blend in and hopefully force them into speaking up. It's our responsibility to figure out who's only interest is getting villagers killed.
  15. To clarify, by "quiet players" do you mean those whom were present for EoD but didn't speak up? ED1T: EoD means End of Day, in case you're not familiar with the term; i.e. the final stretch of a turn before the new one
  16. I've received a PM that indicates a player was roleblocked, so I'm inclined to believe said player is an Inquisitor. The likelyhood of Reading being TLR is very small, and I doubt the elims would be so bold to falsely accuse someone. Said player did not post a lot of analyzable content the previous turn, however, so I would like to see how they approach the game from here before lynching them. One of the problems of getting rid of elims too early is that we have no leads from there, and it becomes very easy for their allies to bus them for village credit.
  17. Well that was certainly an eventful cycle. Knowing that yesterday's lynch was a V/V between myself an illwei, I'm a bit suspicious of people that were present at EoD and didn't vote. More so, I'm surprised that Ventyl was present enough to comment on Illwei's voting for Vapor, but not enough to remove his poke vote off of me, let alone comment on the lynch at all.
  18. Do you have any suspicions? Even if it's myself or Illwei. We don't have much time this round, so if you're here and can post, it's best to share your thoughts on all the candidates
  19. Bearer. I wasn't happy with how quickly they attempted to join my vote on Illwei the first time, and I've become increasingly uncomfortable with this lynch as more people have chimed in. ED1T: Neither of these posts tell us why you're voting for Illwei, Bearer.
