  1. @Wyrm, Alvron's vote on Ripple wasn't because of her typo. He said it was a gut feeling based on her first post(s). I can't decide if I'm suspicious of Joe or not. While his proposed plan turned out to be a simple misread of the rules, I was willing to go with it simply because I think we should try to use our abilities as a whole. It's going to be extremely difficult to do that without some type of plan. I couldn't see what Joe was trying to do with his plan, but I thought, 'hey, if I can't figure it out, maybe that means the Skaa won't be able to either.' Joe also assured us that he had worked out any flaws in it. While I still thought it might be a gamble(which, even if he was right about the rules, it would've been), I'd rather take a risk than simply sit back and everyone just uses their abilities with no particular aim. I think his vote on Ripple is more suspicious than his plan, but even that doesn't seem very suspicious to me. It seems like a majority of people were for a lynch rather than against it, so I don't really see a problem with it. I guess I'd say I'm not particularly suspicious of Joe. I don't trust him mind you, it's just that his actions so far seem villageish. I'm not sure what to make of the kill and lynch, so I'm gonna put a vote on Phattemer for now. You were called out a few times last cycle, and yet you still haven't posted anything. I would still like to hear from Deathclutch, Honey Badger, and Shallan as well, because, as Kasimir pointed out, they haven't given us much information regarding their thoughts or opinions yet. And that is going to be the primary way to catch the Skaa. One thing that I would like to ask the more experienced players about the roles. Do you think it would be a good idea to give some advice on how to generally use our abilities? We can't really make effective plans without PM's, but I think it would help to give an idea of what situations or what reasons we would use certain abilities. As it is right now, it seems like we would have to just get really lucky to catch an eliminator with our roles. Some roles just don't seem particularly useful. Any ideas? Here's my basic thoughts: Coinshot: Use your own gut feelings. Lurcher: Hard to say, don't want the Skaa to know who would most likely be protected Gold person user guy: Depends on what roles everyone thinks the Skaa has. Like, if we think they have a Rioter, then if you get rioted, there's a good chance that person is evil. Especially now that a villager rioter is down. Seekre(Bronze): I don't know, same as Gold I guess. Rioter: Not sure how to use this either. Soother: Yeah, nothing really comes to mind. Copper: If you have a feeling someone is a lurcher or Coinshot, would be a good idea to copper than to protect from Skaa messing with them. Pewter: Use your gut I guess. If you think you've made yourself a target, better safe than sorry. Atium: If your out there, please be careful. One thing I would like to warn people of is that we should not give out or even hint at our roles. I probably don't even have to say anything, but again, better safe than sorry.
  2. Hm, I'd have to agree that lynching Ripple because of a typo is a pretty weak reason. I don't think lynching a new player on the first day is a good idea either. I'm fine with a tied lynch I suppose. No one really sticks out to me yet, so I'm fine with keeping my vote where it is. Clanky, if you want a lynch, why didn't you vote? Or if you don't want one of the two candidates up for the lynch to be lynched, push for someone else? @Maili, you're referring to my post about the Coinshots right? I think that the Skaa already have an advantage because of the lack of PM's, so why would they get two kills as well? Maybe they could have a Coinshot since there are limited uses, I don't know. I was just stating my opinion and my thoughts about if they did have one.
  3. I don't think his plan is to waste Lurcher metals either. Waaaaay too much risk, for not enough reward. Also, he said that after this cycle, he didn't care what the Lurchers did, which implies his plan doesn't need for them to protect him afterwards. So I think if it was a plan to waste the Lurchers metals, it would have them more involved after this. While I am still skeptical about his plan, I suppose it's better than nothing. While we do have the lynch discussion, I think we need more than that if we're going to catch the Eliminators. It's gonna be hard to come up with a plan that will actually do some good without the Eliminators blocking it by knowing what it is. You mention that his intentions are murky. But don't they have to be? I don't like being in the dark about stuff either, but what choice do we have? It's either that, or the Eliminators know the plan as well. Sure, we might lose some protections from Joe's plan that might help us later in the game, but if Joe's plan works like he wants it to, I'm guessing he thinks the benefits will outweigh the losses. Now, onto my vote. I don't really see any evidence against anyone yet, but that's to be expected Day 1. I'm just gonna go with one of the newbies, since I think Sart is right. We have quite a few in this game and we need everyone to be active in discussion. Deathclutch10, do you have anything to add to the discussion? What do you think of Joe's plan?
  4. I asked Wilson what your role was, and when she said you were probably a Poisoner, I thought that at least you had been honest with me. So I know he wasn't trying to trick me or anything! Yeah, brilliant, I know. Although I did guess that you hadn't actually poisoned me. And I did eventually guess that you were Survival. So that's a small comfort at least!
  5. I had 19 PM's from the game. 5 or 6 of those was from Worldhopping though, so I didn't actually have that many I guess. Mostly I just talked to Wilson(10 pages) and Mailliw(6 or 7 I think? Which was probably not a good thing, seeing as he was leaking info to the Eliminators). I talked to some other people some too, but not nearly as much as to those two. Maill started out with the poison lie to me, so I really shouldn't have blabbed as much as I did. Oh well, not too much harm done!
  6. Hm, a pretty good amount of discussion so far! Hopefully we keep it like that. In MR8(I think), we had a lot of discussion day 1 and then after just a couple cycles, the game went very quiet. While it's good that there's been this amount of discussion, we have to keep it that way. Especially since there are no PM's. As far as Day 1 lynches go, I'm always conflicted. I think I agree that we should have a lynch, but I just don't know how we pick a target. There's so little to go off of. I don't want a completely random lynch, as that's unfair to that person. @Clanky, I don't know about the skaa having a Coinshot. Since there are no PM's in this game, I think the Skaa already have a pretty large advantage. I'm guessing that Gamma would counter that somehow, and adding a Coinshot to the Skaa ranks would just give them an even bigger advantage. I do think there might be two Coinshots given that they have limited uses, but I think it would be plausible for TG to have gotten both of them to balance the game a little. If the Skaa do have a Coinshot, I would guess that Gamma counteracted that by making the Skaa team small. With 26 players, I would say that 5 or 6 is most likely. But if they have a Coinshot, I wouldn't be surprised if there were only 4. Granted, in the past I haven't been too accurate with my role analysis, so I'm not confident that would be the case. I do think I agree with you about not using the village kill roles this early, with the limited uses. The only problem is that if the Skaa get lucky and kill one of them, then we're down a kill role, which wouldn't be crippling or anything, but still not good. I guess that's always a possibility though, so I would push for the Coinshots to be conservative with their kills. We don't want to do the Eliminators job for them. I say wait until we have a little more information to go off of. Now, about Joe's plan. Clanky and STINK bring up good points. Maybe I'm missing something here, but I fail to see how it would benefit the village at all. I'm gonna hold off on voting at the moment since I don't have any suspicions, and everyone has been pretty active so I don't really see anyone that merits a poke vote either.
  7. Your not helping me move on. It was night 7. I just checked. I made a lot of assumptions that cycle I think. Mostly that Raven was good. @Maill, it was really Phat and Raven that killed me, so I'm okay with how I died. It would've been nice if some of the good guys had voted for Raven and saved me, but they didn't have much reason to suspect Raven over me so....meh.
  8. Well, good game everyone(especially Wilson for that great kill streak)! Even if Kipper and STINK did take forever to kill Raven. Also, good job Raven for surviving so long! This game was really awesome and fun, so thanks Joe for running it! Even if you laughed at me while I was being killed. I almost survived even with you faking out TG with TE's roles. Nice one, BTW. I almost pushed for PK to get lynched a couple times, since even I thought they would have some sort of protection. But, I knew that if he died and turned out to be innocent, I would probably be close behind him. I had Wilson almost convinced I was good, so that was a small victory for me. Also, it didn't really help my team out that much, but I did vote for the remaining Champions with my last two votes, so that's something too. I really wanted to survive this game, but winning is more important to me than surviving so I'm happy! Also, Joe, why did you go GAAAAAAAAAAAH(about assumptions being made by TG) in The Void doc? (since you said to remind you at the end of the game)
  9. Lord Owain Nohr sat in his study, thinking deep thoughts about justice and other such things. ...But if he was a friend of mine, would I have been so quick to mete out punishment? Justice can only be attained if the judge is unbiased in every situation, not just when it is convenient, or when the mood strikes to be fair. Consistency is the key. And yet, I cannot be so proud that I will not admit to a mistake, if one has been made. I am but a human after all. Of course, I must take great care in my decisions as they can affect hundreds, if not thousands, of lives. Yes, if I can just... His thoughts were interrupted by a quick knock at his door. Must I be bothered every 5 minutes? "Enter" Owain said roughly, a little upset at having his thoughts so rudely cut off. A man of indeterminate age carrying a large book quietly entered the room, closing the large brass doors behind him. "Ah, Virion, my good friend and advisor, is something wrong? You know how I feel about being interrupted when I'm thinking" Owain said. "Pardon me, my Lord, but it is quite a while past our appointed time to discuss the affairs of the House, so I came to ask if you would like to discuss matters now or if you'd like to wait until tomorrow" Virion said in a low, calm voice. "I didn't realize that so much time had gone by" Owain said. "Now is as good a time as any I suppose." "Very well, my Lord" Virion said as he opened his large book and began to inspect the contents. "I am very pleased to inform you that our hospital has just been completed." "Ah, wonderful." "There is also the matter of the message we received from Lady Tamsa Wilson pertaining to her newfound status as Stewardship of Arranged Marriages. She would like to know if you accept her terms and fee." "Ah yes, I've heard about that. An interesting idea. Accept her contract, as it seems it will benefit House Nohr greatly." "As you say, my Lord. We have received another message, although the delivery was quite...unique, to say the least. House Urbain is hosting a ball for all the Lords and Ladies, House Nohr included. It could be a good opportunity to mingle with the others and possibly show our wares." "Hm, I suppose it is at that. I do need to make more contacts and a ball seems an excellent place to do just that! Hopefully I can make some good allies as well as show off a bit" Owain said with a small grin. "Anything else that needs my attention?" "I believe that is all for today my Lord." "Wonderful. Now, I would like to get back to my ponderous ways, if you don't mind." "Of course, my Lord. Good day and pleasant pondering" Virion said as he shuffled out of the room. Curious man, Owain thought as he watched the quiet man leave. I've known him all my life, but I still don't think I understand him. What makes him work as hard as he does? Ah well. I don't believe I have time for such heavy thinking at the moment. Too much to do.
  10. Lord Owain Nohr leaned against a window overlooking Keep Nohr, thinking about the role he would play in this, The Final Empire. Lord Owain Nohr. A man of power. I may not have as much power or respect as some of my peers, but I know I can make a difference with my position as House Lord in The Final Empire. I can help change things for the better! Not just for me and my House, but for all! I may not have a big enough influence to have as large an effect as I would like, but whatever power I do have, I must use it for good. I cannot squander it by using it purely for my own personal gain! I cannot succumb to the temptations of greed and power as so many have before me. To do so would not only be a betrayal to my own personal beliefs, but also to The Lord Ruler who has so graciously allowed me a place in his Empire. I will not, cannot, fail him! It is my duty to further expand and improve his infinite rule.
  11. My signature last-minute sign-up here! Lord Owain Nohr of Keep Nohr joining the Empire! (If I'm not too late.... )
  12. Mistborn returns!!! It feels like Ages since the last one!

  13. Okay, well I'll remove my vote on Phat I suppose. A lot of my thoughts were based on an assumption of a certain persons innocence. I have just been informed that that person is not cleared, therefore I am now analyzing the situation with the new facts in mind. Edit: I'm putting my vote on Raven for now as I don't want Culty and Hoid to secret vote me to death and she is one of my suspects.
  14. Well Seonid, I'll try to explain a little better. Wilson told me that Phat was getting roleblocked last night. Then there were still two attacks made. Which means that either Ruin is good and therefore Phat is good, or Ruin lied to Wilson and didn't block Phat. Now, Wilson trusts Ruin for reasons that I understand, but I disagree with. The other situation I was thinking of was if you were bad and blocked Ruin like Clanky suggested. I can't say which of these situations is more likely, and I'm not positive who has Ruin, so I voted for Phat, who, in both of these situations, is evil. I'm not convinced that he is evil anyways. There are still a few other scenarios where he isn't evil, but I did want some more discussion, or maybe I should say I wanted some discussion since, as you said, it was very quiet.
  15. I don't happen to trust Ruin. It seems unlikely he's bad, but right now everyone seems good. Discussion is what we need right now, and yet Phat has said pratically nothing since returning. Even if he's good, that seems like a good enough reason to call him out.
  16. Yikes. That's a testament to how good a player he is I guess. But still, that's gotta be frustrating. I think I'll put my vote on STINK. He's been one of the most vocal players this whole game, but he's been very quiet lately. Any reasons for that? Hey Nico, I see you viewing the thread right now. Any suspicions or thoughts you'd like to share?
  17. I know exactly how you feel. I've been checking on the progress every day since it first started. I think checking it so often makes it harder to wait, but I just can't help myself!
