Strawman, are you actually a scanner or is your contact one? Please tell us!!! -

17 minutes until the Day ends! Strawman, please explain what you mean in clear terms. Weirdly claiming like that is frustrating for everyone. I'll move my vote to Sart, because my vote on Elodin is doing nothing. -

He's just basically claimed scanner. If he's village, that means he's a scanner(unless he just did the stupidest thing that a villager could possibly do for no reason whatsoever, in which case kill him with a fury and I don't even care if it sounds mean). I'm waiting for word of Gamma about the PM with a Warder/Channeler, but I don't know about the possibility of starting out with more than one role. It's unlikely, imo, which would mean that Strawman is lying about being a scanner/knowing a scanner and is a Darkfriend. IF he is a Darkfriend, then he'll have to keep up the illusion that he can scan players and we might possibly be able to glean information from that, plus the 3 Cycle time limit means we'll kill him eventually, which is a fair compromise imo, because there's the possibility that he's a village scanner. Strawman, can you please claim your role right now? No more vague hints, you've already made too much confusion. -

Strawman, nooooooo! There's not any PM's yet dude. :/ So either Strawman is a scanner or if he's a Darkfriend, one of his Darkfriend teammates is. Or I guess this could be a lie to make us not lynch him, but the lynch isn't even on him right now... We've got about 40 minutes until the end of Day 1 I believe. Not 3 hours. Elodin, I said your vote on Sheep was eliminatory because you did something similar in the first game you were evil. I said you and another player were suspicious for some reason or another(like I did with you and Sheep for voting on me sorta) and then you had a complete change of opinion and voted to lynch the player you were just agreeing with(similar to what you just did with Sheep). I'm moving my vote to Elodin. Sheep. Here's what we can do. Let Strawman live for 3 Cycles. He will give us his scanned targets(which he chooses and tells no one of) and then we kill him to get accurate results(if he's village) or he'll turn up to be an evil and that's just as good or better. Anything else and he'd probably get converted by Padan Fain. Since he has a time limit for how long he can live, Padan Fain probably won't convert him. Edit: Gamma, if you are a Warder/Channeler, do you start the game with a PM with your other half? -

Still leaning village. I originally suspected him because I thought his suspicion of me wasn't justified(same with Sheep), but his follow up reply to my voting on him made me read him as village. That, combined with Wilson saying she got the same feeling makes me more inclined to trust that read, but it's still Day 1 and I believe Meta is a good enough player by far to fool me and even Wilson if she's village. His big post about every single player I also thought was more of a village!Meta thing to do, but given he hasn't been an eliminator very often(and only once when I've played with him), I'm thinking it's definitely possible he'd do all that work if he's a Darkfriend. So basically, small village lean, with paranoia. I think I understand what you were saying earlier about Meta misinterpreting your posts, but I think that was due to him misreading rather than him purposefully trying to twist your words. Gah, so many ninja's. I think the Day ends in 1 hour and 15 minutes. My suspicion of Elodin is rising. His vote on Sheep gave me eliminator vibes. -

Edit2: If you didn't notice, if Lomion is elected Mayor, her vote will count as 2(unless she says otherwise), so Sarah will actually have 6 votes on her as it is. -

Yes, I said why I downplayed it and even said I wasn't sure who I was gonna vote for, but then my earlier vote on myself was made official and I was like "what the heck, why not" because I don't think it matters very much. I'm not sure how me downplaying the importance of the Mayor role will make players vote on me. And the reason I don't think it matters very much is that it's a public vote manipulation. Public. Everyone knows how it will affect the lynch. It's not even close to being the same situation as LG21, where the eliminators had like, 2 or 3 hidden vote manipulations. If the eliminators want to use it to try and control the lynch, they have to take responsibility for their Actions to every single player. Also, I already explained that "defense." It wasn't really me defending myself as much as me asking Meta if he really thought that or was he just trying to cast doubt on my alignment by suggesting something like that. It's possible for an eliminator to vote on one of their teammates for Mayor, but in that situation and for how early it was and how much suspicion Sart was under, I thought it was unlikely Meta would genuinely suspect that me and Sart were eliminators together based on that. That's basically how I search for eliminators. I ask "does that suspicion of so-and-so seem genuine?" or "could that person logically get to that conclusion from the evidence we have so far?" It's why I have a any kind of read on Wilson. She previously called out a player for starting the "should we have a lynch" discussion in a different game as a villager and I agreed with her statement that Meta was acting like his normal self and had reached the same conclusion about Meta just before she posted that(and so had removed my vote from him). Along that train of thought, you saying my defense was "incredibly" suspicious doesn't seem genuine to me. Although of course I'm biased, but I just don't think it is suspicious(mostly because you misconstrued what I said) and Meta is the only one who commented on it and said it was a bad defense to which I already replied and explained, but you seemed to ignore my explanation on that point. So, Twei. Sheep. I'm also getting suspicious of Elodin, who's moving his vote around quite a bit, plus the point that Meta and Twei brought up were valid and I agreed with them(plus I don't like his voting on me directly after Sheep like he did ). There's been a lot of posts since I last posted and I just skimmed over them, but I'll try to comment on anything I think is out of the ordinary once I read through more carefully. I just wanted to comment on this since it related directly to me. Edit: I'll try to get a vote tally up. Give me a minute or so. -

Even though there's been a good amount of posts since my last post, I don't feel like my reads have changed all that much. Meta posted that large post up above, which is pretty similar to how I feel. Something curious to note, me, Meta and Wilson have all noted that Nyali seems off somehow. I don't really know what that means, since it's only Day 1 and D1 reads are almost always guesses as much as they are logical thinking(at least, in my case ), but it surprised me a little that both Wilson and Meta agreed with me that she seems a bit off. Hael, while you did post already, I'm wondering if you've got any reads yet? Specifically, I'm wondering what you're thinking about each of Sart, Wilson and Meta. Edit: Saw Sheep/Llewella on just a bit ago. I'm surprised you have posted yet. Any reason for your silence so far? -

Well, it appears that the voting is neck and neck between myself and Meta. Who will be the winning candidate? Stay tuned! Anyways, if I do get voted in as Mayor, I'll make sure to do a bit or RP to commemorate the occasion, but don't expect too much. >> I don't really expect to be voted in, since hardly anyone has said anything positive about me so far(for as much as I've posted, no one has really said much at all about me), but I have 3 votes on me, so it could happen! -

Ah, I think that would explain it. I was thinking your posts seemed a bit different somehow, but not really in a suspicious way. And Stink, I meant that I personally can't read you very well. Remember LG17? It took a lot of convincing to get me to think you were a villager even though you'd posted quite a bit in that game. So while I do have a small village read on you, I'm not sure how much weight to put behind that read. Eryn, the Ta'veren role is in blue because it was a secret role we unlocked and so Gamma edited it in to the OP once we hit a specific number of players needed to unlock the role. It's not village only as far as I'm aware. -
Long Game 22: Corenne al'Daishar
TheMightyLopen replied to Gamma Fiend's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Yeah, Eryn(Nyali), my reads aren't all that strong yet. To give a little more insight, on a scale from 0 to 100(0 being evil and 100 being good), I'd say Meta is around 65(pretty high for a Day 1 read, but I feel like Wilsons endorsement of him makes me more confident in my read, since if she's evil, she'll know if he's good and probably wouldn't say that about him unless he really is good(insert paranoia here) and if Wilson is good, I think her opinion of Meta is worth a fair amount), Wilson is around 58-60, then every other village read on there is like, 54 or something very close to being neutral. I don't give a lot of weight to my reads on Day 1, because they are waaaay more often wrong than right. I figured I'd just get my initial thoughts out there and see what others thought. As for my suspicions, they're similarly weak reads. Even for Sart. While he could be an eliminator hiding behind a topic of discussion that's not very useful for the village, I'm not very confident that's the case. I think I'd put him at about 40. You're around 47 or 48 I guess, so still very neutral(Mailliw is basically the same). I don't have any logic for suspecting either of you, but I just feel like you could be Darkfriends(or Padan Fain). Twei's probably about 40 as well actually. -

Dude, come on... >> Do you have nothing else to post? Nice! Well, that does actually make me happy a little bit. Haha, you have been GM'ing a ton lately. I thought I'd change mine over to a picture of Mat, since he's my favorite character in WoT so far(only on book 6 people, no spoilers). Hey, I'd just take the votes if I were you. But I guess if you don't vote very often, it won't really be of much use and so it's kind of pointless to make you the Mayor... -
Long Game 22: Corenne al'Daishar
TheMightyLopen replied to Gamma Fiend's topic in Sanderson Elimination
No problem. I figure you'll post when you've got the time. Here's my reads so far, since I'm around: Village reads: Meta - like Wilson said, I think he's acting like village!Meta does. I'll stay wary of course, since he's Meta, but it feels like a true read. Wilson - also reading as village. Probably because I've agreed with everything she's said so far and her suspicion of Sart seemed perfectly justified as well as her reasoning for trusting Meta(because I feel exactly the same way). Hellscythe - gut read as village. Honestly though, I'm not sure what his evil playstyle is, since he's hardly ever been evil, so that's a shaky read. Young Bard - might sound a bit weird, but him saying he's suspicious of me seems more like something he'd do as village, since I was so on point in LG21, which might mean he'd be less likely to confront me like that because I might catch something off about him. Tentative village read. Would like to hear a bit more from him. Jaimeleecee - since she's new, hard to really say, but she sounds like a villager to me right now at least. Orlok - gut village read. He's pretty hard to read though. Stink - kinda thought his posts sounded like village!Stink. He's not someone I've been able to read too great in the past though, but figured since he'd posted once or twice, I had to put him somewhere. Suspicious players: Sart - Wilson explained why he's suspicious. I agree with Wilson. Might move my vote over there if I don't see any better suspects by the end of the Day. Nyali - totally gut read. No reason to think she's suspicious at first glance or even if I read what she posts , but I'm feeling paranoid about her. Twei - posted a short post. Kind of felt like an evil post somehow, like she was just trying to post something rather than actually searching for an eliminator. Mailliw - more paranoia than actual suspicion for him. His posts seemed really neutral to me, like, he hasn't joined in much lynch discussion, but posted a couple times. Neutral players: Winter - not really suspicious of her. I remember her being extremely against lynch trains before she left, so I think I can understand her voicing that concern if she really thought it was turning into a lynch train. Elbereth - maybe one day I'll take a wild guess at her alignment. So far, I'm getting village vibes I guess? Really, my inability to get a solid read on her is funny to me. I thought it would change as we played together more often, but it feels like it's just gotten worse. :/ Nice color change for your profile pic though El. Really cool looking. I'm thinking of changing mine to a WoT one, maybe. And I think I'll just put my RP character name as my member title, so everyone can see it that way. I think that's all, since those are most of the players who have posted so far. -

TheMightyLopen replied to Gamma Fiend's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Hmm, well, I did comment in the LG21 dead doc that I felt I was too arrogant in that game, so that could factor in. Both DC and Aman were a bit upset at me for how I voiced my suspicion of them(edit: DC in LG21 and Aman in MR14), so I'm trying to be careful with how I word stuff. I think the main thing is though, that I was actually very confident about most of my suspicions in LG21 and so far I haven't gotten any solid reads like that, since it's so early. -
Haelbarde had the Shard of Hatred in LG14(of which this game was the sequel), but Mailliw had already claimed the title of Odium(due to him Holding the Shard during LG10, of which LG14 was the sequel), so Haelbarde, having made some brilliant parodies in LG14 as Odium, rightly took the name of "Parodium."

Long Game 22: Corenne al'Daishar
TheMightyLopen replied to Gamma Fiend's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Numbered to respond easier. 1. I guess I made it into a bit of an IKYK, but my point was that I thought your trying to connect me and Sarah like you did was a bit too much of a stretch, given how early in the game it is and how I personally think it probably wouldn't be a good idea to connect like that just to try and get me an extra vote, which I don't view as good enough of a reward to try something like that. So you saying you didn't think it was coincidence that Sarah Mayor voted on me felt more like a play to get me suspected so that my voice/opinions in the thread wouldn't be as effective. As for my defense not being very good, I don't think I have much to defend against. It was much more of an attack on you than it was a defense for my own actions. 2. Yeah, lynches have been pretty close lately I guess, but the Mayor role is completely out in the open and we'll all know how it will play into the lynch and so will vote accordingly, making it a lot less useful for the eliminators to use imo, since they'll have to take full credit for their vote(s) if they used it in a seemingly suspicious way. I'm downplaying it because I don't think it's worth as much as lynch discussion, because I don't believe the eliminators will care about it very much right now and so we won't be able to use the interactions about it as evidence as accurately as we could interactions about the lynch. I view it as more of a late game role, because that's when numbers start to become that much more crucial and so electing a village Mayor will be of more importance. 3. Well, I think I did overstate how suspicious you were of me, but I do tend to get defensive/suspicious when players cast any sort of suspicion on me. 4. That because I think it's a perfectly logical thing for you to do(vote for yourself as Mayor) and I didn't think that your reasoning for suspicion against me was very logical(because, obviously, I think it makes perfect sense for me to vote for myself as Mayor as well). I guess I could have pointed out that it was a bit hypocritical of you for doing both of those things in the same post(cast suspicion on me for voting for myself/vote for yourself), but I don't really see that as being the suspicious part(just the logic behind your suspicion of me). And I don't care if you cast suspicion on Sarah, I'm a bit suspicious of...her too. >> So I don't feel the need to react to the suspicion in any other way than as if it's an attack solely on myself. Honestly, I've changed my opinion on you due to this last post of yours. The last time you cast suspicion on me(MR12), it didn't seem genuine, but this feels a little different, I think. Mezal(Meta). I'm not sure why avoiding definites is suspicious. We don't know anything at this point and there's only been a handful of posts and no PM's, so I'm very hesitant to make any kind of definite statement. -

TheMightyLopen replied to Gamma Fiend's topic in Sanderson Elimination
No problem Gamma, I'll leave my vote on myself for now. And thanks for the clarifications. Really, I'm not sure how important the Mayor is, since it's only an extra vote/cancel a vote power. I'm thinking I'll likely either vote for myself or another player that participates in the lynch often(like Wilson, Meta, Aman, Hellscythe etc.) to give their vote extra weight in the thread. Another thought I had was that we could make a newer player Mayor to both get more insight on them by seeing how they use their power and to possibly get leads by seeing who might try to control where their vote goes(because if a new player has the power of 2 votes, I imagine players might try and convince them over other players). Either way, I don't think the Mayor mechanic is very crucial at this point in the game, so Meta trying to draw conclusions and cast suspicion on me just for voting on myself when I did seems off as well as him trying to draw a connection between me and Sart due to Sart voting on me for Mayor. Do you really think 2 eliminators would do something like that just to get an extra vote? It feels like you're trying to cast doubt on my alignment more than you really think that would be an actual possibility. -
Long Game 22: Corenne al'Daishar
TheMightyLopen replied to Gamma Fiend's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I did ask Gamma how many votes were needed to become Mayor in my PM with him right after I voted on myself. And I think you're overstating how much I "want" to become Mayor. I was actually thinking about voting for someone who actually is gonna do RP this game, since I'll be on mobile and don't generally do much RPing throughout the game. Still thinking about where I want to put my official vote. I think I'll hold off right now since I don't know if you can retract that vote or not. I might vote for myself just for the power I'd get, but I'm not sure if we can elect a new Mayor each Cycle or not, so I don't know what I plan to do at the moment with my Mayor vote. Gamma, can we elect a new Mayor each Cycle, whether the old one has died or not? And can you retract Mayor votes somehow? Haelbarde, okeydokey! Edit: okay well, mod power was used and I'm voting for myself as Mayor now. I'll roll with that then! It does feel right to have my name be in orange! -

Yup, Day 1 lynches are definitely worth it, imo. And I figured I could go the "Don't roleclaim you fools!" route, but eh, figured El would do that soon enough. Also, I agree with all of Wilsons points against Sart. I remember her calling out an eliminator on Day 1 for suggesting almost that exact same thing in an earlier game. Might not be the case here, but it's something to look closely at, I think. Edit: Just realized Burnt's not even playing in this game. *facepalm* Edit2: Oh yeah. Vote Jak for Mayor! -

TheMightyLopen replied to Gamma Fiend's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Loved the write-up Gamma! First thoughts: I think we should have a lynch on Day 1. I've been pushing for using the lynch(especially on Day 1) more often and I really think using every single lynch is the most productive way to go. Let's see, everyone should be wary that Padan Fain can convert anyone(besides Forsaken), so we need to be much more careful with roleclaiming than usual as well as bandying about that you have a lot of roleclaims. I haven't looked over the abilities too closely yet, so I have no suggestions or anything like that right now. I'll put a vote on Haelbarde, since I think he'll be around sooner or later. He's been online since roles went out, but he hasn't posted, so there's my reasoning. He could be in an evil doc as we speak! I also saw Wilson online and would be glad to hear her thoughts. Edit: Actually Bugsy, I just take forever to post. And I'd originally voted on you for lurking, but then you posted so I had to look at the player list to find someone else to vote on, lol. Edit2: Ooo, Burnt and Orlok are around too! Heyo! -

Ah, sorry about that. It seems I've slipped into the habit of tunneling occasionally now(DC in LG21, Joe a bit in this game, you/Araris a bit as well). I'll work on it. Although to be fair, I did have major doubts about you being evil once the lynch was set on you. I even told Maill as much in a PM. I just was confused because SD and Maill thought that their Actions were blocked by a phantom Wood T1 player and you were the only one left I didn't have extremely good reason to trust.- 537 replies

Long Game 22: Corenne al'Daishar

Maybe that's what he wants to happen! -
Well what I was thinking was that we could lynch DC to find out if he had Ruin/was a 17th Sharder, use Night Actions to find Ruin if he didn't have it and then use UP on the next Day to lynch Ruin/a 17th Sharder(not Aman, probably Rae, who was Hoid, so we'd catch her unawares so she couldn't give herself an extra life) and then UP would end on a Day Turn again and we could lynch Aman using Hael's Puppetmastery. But that it didn't work out like that, sadly. But yeah, this game there was actually a situation where not lynching a known eliminator was actually a valid strategy given he wouldn't die right away/would kill a villager with his death and we could just roleblock him and half the village was gone in 2 Cycles and the 17th Sharders had 2 kills and a planet wide roleblock and tons of vote manipulation, so we needed to find and remove/restrict some of their power immediately. So I'd say I disagree with you.
