I dont mind, I just laugh, but it did my me wonder why that was ok, but the opposite isnt ("Good thing you've got some meat on your bones so the wind doesnt blow you away") I dont know where I am going with this It is early and I need to go to work now.

Like I've said before: Im just pretending everything after the last chapter, including the epilogue never happened. Rowling hasnt done anything good with the series since then. The books are canon, everything after is slightly more official fan fiction.

I think those are more cases of "Theres a bad guy, someone needs to stop him." Elantris is a better case of "The setting broke, now someone needs to fix it... and there are insane, religious extremists."

Not really. Stories need conflict, having something go horribly wrong in your setting is a great way to create conflict.

If you have a setting you just need to make something go horribly wrong in said setting and you more or less have a plot.

There is innate investiture, which is in all living things and kinetic investiture, which is the magic. Life sense senses the first, seeking senses the second. At least that is how I understand it.

I really like combining weather with mind stuff for the sapphire. Like Oversleep mentioned: literally storing memories in a cloud, maybe surveillance through clouds, a literal brainstorm... 'weather' reports? Seeing the future and all that. Maybe some fire or light stuff for the emerald? Politicians need to be seen, light helps them be seen, fire could also power the automotons, if you are going that road.

There are good and bad kinds of disturbing, Leto is the latter. Nothing is wrong with being entertained by dark things.
