  1. ya, and the other point I made is that mistborns are older then awakeners;). So when the awakener came around, they would be wearing them already . Anyway, the mist in mistborn isnt regular mist. so when they talk of it makign them harder to see... In really heavy mist, if a big truck or a train passes quickly, you can see it swirl, like there are shapes, being in it almost. Picture that, but make the mist several times heavier then what we see here, and also couple it with wind(mist here pretty much disaperes if its windy, not so in the final empire) SO you get random shapes, swirls. thats what they cloak is to copy. A manshaped thing jumping through the mist can be made out. A swirls of odd length of cloaks... that looks just like the regular swirls of mists, and while you would see it, it is much harder to process that is is something more then just swirling mist.
  2. Bazillion is obviously an intended exxageration . But point is, thin stripes = easily ripped/cut apart, combined with more breaths, combined with problems recovering breaths from any part of the cloak thats ripped off... dont seem useful. In addition, awakening on Nalthis is a young art. There have been mistborn around longer, and thus, propably(no evidence, but scadrial is conservative, unlikely it have changed) there was mistcloaks around since almost a thousand years before Kelsier. That should be way before Awakening spread on Nalthis.
  3. seems unlikely that the 17:th shard isnt older then Kelsier. Member, even leader perhaps, but founder? If I remember right, Elantris was something in the neighborhood of 300 years before mistborn right, and white sand also one of the earliest, so near elantris. Kelsier just seems to be to late onto the stage to found the 17:th shard. Spec considering the hints that the dragon from dragonsteel is a member, or atleast works with them. Dragonsteel was on Yolen right, and Yolen seem to be hidden. As to why Kelsier got whoped, he was a beginner there, no matter his skill in fighting elsewhere. Hoid have been in that realm much more, and given his comment on pain, if Kelsier had been more experienced he could have just ignored the pain there and kept going at that point - atleast as long as hoid was unwilling to hurt his actual soul.
  4. Why would mistcloak make sense for an awakener? It would cost a bazilion breaths to awaken something like that as compared to a cloak shaped somewhat like a person like Vashers cloak.
  5. Wax is good at discovering secrets, Kelsiers favorite hobby. Or he is just good in helping people survive bad things.
  6. Personally I am beginning to think hoid was involved at first and was intended for one of the 16, but changed his mind and attempted to stop it(and failed). Or possibly, was betrayed by some of the 16(Odium and some more comes to mind) and thus excluded
  7. You dont haveto have a tounge piercing, thats propably not convinient, put it in your cheek on the inside. Or on the top of your mouuth inside the teeth. Plenty places where you could reach it with your tounge. Just trial and error to see where it wont be to much in the way in normal life.
  8. Get a piercing inside your mouth. Have a hole in the piercing with a screwlock smooth enough that you can screw/unscrew it with your tounge. Put Cadmium(or other metal of choice) in your piercing. Voila, Cadmium without anyone being able to notice it, anytime you want, althou it may take 5-10 secs to get at it. Piercings are hard to push, but if you want to be real safe, make it an alluminum or plastic piercing.
  9. Brandon recomends that you read bom first, but I did spoilered it
  10. Saze might have given kelsier a body in return for , and perhaps, investigate things outside of Scadrial where Sazed cant go - or atleast, he cant go without great sacrifices. Kelsier is good at convincing people. Gods even. And its not he and harmony are hostile to eachother as the book ends.
  11. On the first one, actually they are considered good from day one. While desolations are still comon regularily. Not all of them necesserily, they are human. Some will end up being bad, or atleast doing bad things. Also, early on, while the desolations are still ongoing, there are knights radiants even in the periods inbetween desolations, if they caused it, that would be impossible. I´v thought it fairly confirmed that next dosolation happends when the first of the heralds break from torture. with only the herald of stone captured, Odium had to break him, wich took time. Alot of time. On the second, what makes you sure Odium had help? I´v rather thought Aona and Skai was att odds with eachother, and Odium basically blindsided them, or possibly convinced one he would help against the other. Third, peronally I think Hoid was part of the cabal to shatter Adonalsium, but he either changed his mind before and tried to stop it at the end(wich would explain why he didnt get a shard like the others), or he decided afterwards that it was a mistake.

To me it sounds like he havent. If he had and Khriss knew, then she wouldent haveto ask if he knew how to do it... Well, hes been on one other planet atleast (Yolen)
  13. Pathfinder: The guards most certanly did not know Hammond was a pewtermisting, that is soomething I would like a source on. A skaa misting to be known around guards for being that.. no way. When Vin is training with/watching him with the guards, he even specifies he haveto be careful to not let anyone notice. And the "all the time" was just a retort to you saying Sazed used it regularily all over the place;), was why it was in quotationmarks. That Sazed wasent caught when picking win up was likely cause there was plenty pulses going around already, including feruchemy. With several inquisitors jumping around burning it already, it would be difficult finding out wich was Sazed. Combine that with the inquisitors listening after the two mistborn they were chasing and its not odd he wasent caught. Natc: It would seem likely it give of a pulse of a strength relative to what they pull. but yeah, its makes sense that its weaker as its internal. Paradox Actually, I wrote that in my first post. It would make it even less likely noone had ever been caught thou. We never get a comment on if Feruchemy would destroy the geodes do we? Internal things may be less problematic there too. Q then is - is there a new perpendiculary in Scadrial now... are the caves back or are there something else?
  14. Well they can obviously only sense it when its being used(just as you cant sense an allomancer when hes not burning), and Twindyl obviously didnt while being used as a breeder, or atleast not on the rare occasions when an inquisitor may ahve been near.Given how important that was, they wouldent risk it. Hammond didnt get chased, he ran around using Pewter "all the time" Same with breeze, who had an entire crew of soothers/rioters who didnt get caught. None of them used it constantly, all likely tried to be somewhat careful about where they used it. Alof of people did get caught thou. Likely, some feruchemists did too, since inquisitors had spikes(even with the dump them in blood some get lost in the time between, they gotto be replaced occasionally.) Also, Luthadel have investiture all around, lots of legal burning going on. The pits? a single pulse should be very noticeable. Mind you, Im not saying everyone should be caught. Just that if there was frequent coming and going for a thousand years, then at some point TLR would find out, a tiny chance for sufficently many times becomes almost certainty.
  15. Odds are you could get it by the right alloy of atium and lerasium, just as distilled lerasium makes you an allomancer. Since Feruchemy is supposedly a mix of the two.
  16. TLR hunts feruchemists, and he atleast knew that feruchemy could be sensed by bronze. He will have trained his inquisitors, and likely mistings to do so. The inquisitors can even practice on one another since they got hemalurgical feruchemy, so thats not a prob. Might be worth a question at some point I guess, but while they perhaps wont be able to sense what it is exactely, sensing that somehting happends shouldnt be impossible. And once you know how to sense one other type of investiture other than allomancy, it it not logical that sensing a third should be that hard. And since its a prison, there is no way the worldhoppers can get out of there without using investiture(unless they got a deal with TLR wich seems unlikely(not impossible, but unlikely)
  17. Bronze would be a problem for even them. They may not be able to catch them, but obligators recruited bronzemisting specifically and they would sense useage of investiture, even if its from another world. Not all worldhoppers could be as strong as hoid either if ít was an actual economy. Also, wonder if they could use powers down in the pits. Would for example, hoids lightweaving destroye the geodes like allomancy would. If you were a worldhopper with bad luck you might pop out right when TLR was visiting there aswell. And he´d be bad news for alot of them.
  18. It was Oreseur/Lord Reneux who ate Kelsiers body, and he is quite dead.
  19. Cant help but wonder just how incompetent the guards/obligators at the pits were if there was constant travelers going in and out through that hole. Unless they had a deal with the lord ruler somehow, but that dont quite seem likely?
  20. Wonder if the power that lets them not age also diminishes with distance from Elantris, perhaps requiring a glowing jar with investiture as replacement.
  21. Overlooking the other problems to go to just one thing that disqualifies it, would someone who saved all of southern scadrial and was basically revered as a god there then have another southern scadrial as his master? Think not.
  22. I think Hoid is basically the same as Alendi´s first keeper ally. (I have managed to forget the name atm) The one who first discovered Alendi, and put him on the path to the well of ascencion, only to decide it was a mistake and set Rashek to divert/kill him. I think Hoid helped with taking down Adonalsium, he have since begun to regret it, or possibly he turned on the other 16 and attempted to stop them. Possibly he was intended to be one of the 16, and someone else was brought in to take his place as he tried to stop it instead. He is if that is so, now searching for ways to put Adonalsium back together. He considers this important enough that he will not sidestep that even to try and save a planet full of people.
  23. A few things spring to mind. I seem to recall elantrians are close to immortal, agewise atleast, if the work on it(Galladons father died, but I seem to recall its mentioned that was only cause he refused to fix it, yeah?) So while Kelsier´s visit to the IRE are hundreds of years(but less then a thousand) after the reod, its still quite possible that the IRE are pre-reod who havent been in elantris. There are other problems with it, but its possible, especially as Khriss mentions the IRE have been about the cosmere longer then she or Nazh, and white sands are supposedly almsot as early as Elantris in the timeline. That hints the IRE have been there for long. Was mentioned elsewhere that Sel might be the badguys in the cosmere later, a point there would be that even if the IRE are post-reod, there is no real reason to think that they represent a majority of elantrians. There are alot of them. Also.. Ruin is aware of the IRE. That is a (far from conclusive admittedly) hint that the IRE may have been there since before Ruin was trapped. thats atleast 2000 years. That would mean pre-reod for sure. (1000 years since TLR used the well, one thousand before that seems likely to be when ruin was trapped, dont know if we know this for sure) More points, but me dog want me to take him out so thats it for now;)
  24. Re March and eyespikes (unable to quote on this forum for whatever reason) He looses one spike, but its replaced. (it says "iron spikes for eyes" in alloy of law for example, plural, chrushed eyesocket yeah, but twin spikes still) Besides, March didnt have the scars on the arms. It seems extremely likely to be Kelsier who found a new body. Especially with the "survive" comment made by him in Waxiliums flashback.
  25. I´v been thinking hes trying to become a splinter of adonalsium, by gathering a small portion of every shard. We know he gathered Lerasium. Guessing thats just 1 out of 16 pieces of shards he wants;). Only question is how many of the 16 hes managed to gather.
