Well I'm on my way to Forbbiden Plaent. I'll be there in like half an hour to 40 minutes. I think. I wanted to be there a lot earlier but I overslept. Storms! I hope the queue isn't too crazy. I'll see you all - those who are coming at least - there.

ETA: @readergirl7, I got an email newsletter from Brandon last night, sent to those in/nearby the London area, and in it he said there's gonna be a reading and a Q&A as well in the London event.

Update: Ok I asked the staff at Forbbiden Planet and they say it's only gonna be a signing, so I'm not sure anymore. Also there's no queue as of yet.

I plan on arriving about 5-5:30, depending on tubes. Will be leaving just before 4

Hey, guess who’s an idiot and forgot to type out my WoBs after uploading the audio? (Spoiler Alert: It’s Me)

Anyways, here are some of the questions that I asked and the answers that I got.

      Hide contents

Q: Also, is there anything that we don’t know about the expanses right now that you’d be willing to tell us?

A: Uhh... I think I’ve told you about all of them. Is there one I haven’t told you about yet?

Q: Um, I don’t know, I’ve checked the words of Brandon before I wrote these questions. I think we know that um one of them is Mistborn, and, um, not Mistborn, Scadrial, and [trails off]

A: So Densities is Sel. We put that one on, right, Expanse of the Densities? So, if we didn’t you now know, Desnities is Sel.

WAIT...Sel is the expanse of the Densities?!!!!!!! That blows the idea of it being the Broken Sky out of the water....

  3. Newcastle will probably be less packed than London. The SoS signing was pretty busy but I got a fairly close spot in line (and this was years ago so I can't remember what time I left for). I'll be in a TeeTurtle t-shirt and a slouch beanie so feel to drop me a fistbump/high-five or even a yarn/chat cause Harmony knows i need more Cosmere-versed friends/acquaintances!

  4. I recall a line from the later parts about the "of the Spren, the Wind and the Stone". (can someone with the e-book check this please?, my mind is still reeling from finishing the hardback) I took the Wind and Stone part to mean the Stormfather and Nightwatcher and the Spren to mean that the Sibling was representative of them. I originally had thought it was located in/under Urithiru but I'm liking the idea that it IS Urithiru more.

Rlain is our parshendi aquire. Not a Knight. He hasn't shown the distinct characteristics to attract a Radiant Spren. As of yet

True, but we can't be sure that the comet spren is a major or minor Order spren (flimsy I know) only that it is important to an Order. Although I could see Rlain being a Windrunner; a rather quiet and brooding one but he seems like he would suit falling in style.

I want to say that the spren sticking around Eshonai's corpse means she's not really dead, but I don't know if that's just my personal love of Eshonai speaking. Maybe the eyes seemed dead to Venli because they were no longer glowing red? I don't want to get my hopes up, but that spren isn't sticking around her for nothing.

And what do you mean listener ancestors are in charge?? Did they become Cognitive Shadows?

What Ulem/im talks about near the end, when it's sarcastically berating Venli for her lack of knowledge and her assumption that she thinks she's going to be Queen. It mentions the Parshendi ancestors are the ones in charge so the only feasible way that any of Parshendi ancestors could still be around is if they managed to stick around after they died (i.e. becoming a Cognitive Shadow is one way).

  7. Wait...so the spren that the Parshendi bonded for stormform, is to ?Ulim/Ulem? as Windspren are to Honourspren? Did I hear that right?

And wow, talk about a sucker punch, I wasn't expecting that :(

So the Parshendi ancestors....any bets on them being possibly either Cognitive Shadows or secretly hiding? It doesn't make sense for the Unmade to be them, as the ancestors are apparently the best strategists in history whereas the Unmade have very little sapience

  8. I would say Brandon interpreted that as the system and not the planet. Lets not forget, that if the questioner doesn't really specify and kind of expects Brandon to make the distinction, then more often than not he'll probably assume otherwise (cause of timing, line etc., not to mention wiggle room).  Nor the fact that we've had via WoB that only 3 Shards are present in the Rosharan area :D

What is the Arcanum you speak of @The Invested Beard? I'm intrigued :D

  9. Given the Unmade are Fused/Parshendi/Listener Gods, I would venture that perhaps they may be the OG Dawnsingers (once known as kindly spren) as @Calderis suggests and were eventually Unmade by Odium (it would explain Tanavast's comment about not having the Dawnsinger's any more) or that they were first bonded to a Listener and then Unmade. (It all depends on how you interpret the Listener song)

  10. I loved Korg! But I love Kiwi humour :P Also, looks like there's room for one more in that hot tub. Loki, despite how muc of pain he is, I will always have a soft spot for. Especially if they bring in the fact he can change his gender too.

What kind of engineer? What are you finding difficult?

Mechanical/Electrical. So, I return to the UK just after the College term starts and miss the start date for the course. Then the Job Centre tells me i'm unlikely to get an apprenticeship due to my age being just over the age range they give apprenticeships out to (18-24). Who knew? So my only option at the moment is to find some entry level work placement that trains you on the job, however...the employment system moves a lot slower here than what i've become accustomed to* in Australia, especially* as a backpacker. So i'm disheartened, but i'm not letting that stop me :D

EDIT: damnation my English was hella terribad yesters

    Hey all,

It will also be my first signing and I want to ask a question about the interaction of magic systems across the cosmere - so would love your help wording it/letting me know if it has been asked before.

Essentially I'm interested in the used of Hemalurgy on Roshar. We know inquisitors can have 9-11 spikes (I believe) and Hemalurgy is of Ruin, the only other Shard, apart from Odium that seems that have directly try to kill/splinter another Shard.

Given there are 10 surges in surgebinding, and 10 is an important number on Roshar, it might well be that there are 10 voidbinding surges. We also know that Honor was pushing Dalinar towards forcing Odium to chose a champion.

So my question I guess is made up of a few parts. Firstly will we see hemalurgy on Roshar, secondly could either a radiant/voidbringer hold all the surges through spikes, thirdly would Odium be able to use hemalurgy to form a direct connection to someone like ruin, and fourthly, if so, could these be viable champions for each side?

    Thoughts/is it a dumb question?

First question; I don't think this has been asked before so go for it!

The second one may be a little trickier as the only way we've seen anyone wield the surges is through a Spren bond or an Honourblade, so perhaps ask if there's a way to wield/use the Surges without the use of a blade or bond, and if so, could it be spiked away

I cannot really answer this one as there is still too much about Haemalurgy we don't know. I would say Odium would be able to provide the Intent for Haemalurgy (not certain of), as well as control a spiked Rosharan (or someone with a lot of Connections to Odium)
