  1. I know, it can be kind of strange to have a character that is so capable in so many ways . . . And then you remember that he can't read. :/ Welcome to the forums!
  2. I was asked a question in the previous thread and thought I'd just answer it here: Oh yeah. I spend about 23 hours at home on a normal day. I was pulled out of school halfway through 2nd grade for a variety of reasons. One of them was that I was in the gifted program, but the gifted class was at the same time as my math class and I was expected to do all of the stuff for math, but they didn't teach me anything on how to do it. Another reason was that my mom had just bought a book on homeschooling and wanted to try it. Sometimes I wish I could have just finished the grade, but overall I've been pretty happy with my education. I've been doing it for 7 years now. Why stop?
  3. Good bye 5! Adieu! Adieu! To you and you and yoouu!
  4. I couldn't create something that perfectly ugly if I tried. It's from Google Images. This was another one of the search results that I was rather fond of:
  5. I tend to be behind the times . . . One of the perks of homeschooling.
  6. GUYS. GUYS. I JUST FOUND OUT: DUMBLEDORE WAS GAY AND WAS IN LOVE WITH GELLERT GRINDLEWALD. Why didn't I know this before . . .
  7. But . . . How will you know if you hate a book if you haven't read it yet?? Now I'm confused . . .
  8. Here's another one that you really should have seen coming:
  9. I get a little wet eyed at some scenes, but honestly the only book I have genuinely cried for is the Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulaine.
  10. I can't believe I haven't made this joke before, but you had better get yourself some horn rimmed glasses and watch out for Smedrys, because you are about to become a Librarian!. . . That sounded a lot funnier and less desperate in my head. Edit: wow, ninja'd. Great minds think alike, Stormgate?
  11. It even has a spike in the front.
  12. Noooo. Don't take that cookie. Most cookies around here are hemalurgic and are not safe to accept.Have a bookie from The Knights Awkward, instead, dearie. They're cookies shaped like books and taste like characters. 0% chance of being spiked! (Unless you take a Marsh, or something. ) Here, this ones Lift, it tastes like awesomeness, and has a side affect of making you belch rainbows, you'll be so storming pure!
  13. Sure. Ven, did he punch her hard enough to knock her out, or just enough for her to call security/draw a gun on him?
  14. I knew it! Hoid is a time lord!!
  15. Annoyed.
  16. Cold metal chairs.
  17. I used to do tae kwon do, and one of the self defense things we were taught was to get out of a headlock while someone is punching you. The way you do it is, first, use your hand to grab the hand that's punching, or just block it or something. Get that hand away from your face. The second thing to do is, with your other hand, reach from behind and chop them in the groin. Twice. Thirdly, you reach up and grab their face, it doesn't matter where, but I think the best way is to pinch their nose. There isn't much that they can do against that. And then pull/push them to the ground, using the hand hold they've got on your face. . . . I actually have no idea what that has to do with what you just said. That's just what I was reminded of, for se reason.
  18. Why . . . Wouldn't they include her? she's sort of the main protagonist . . .
  19. Well . . . She was kind of elderly. And the music was loud at the time. I don't blame her for not understanding. It was dark, but I think she might have been old enough to wear hearing aids.
  20. it was so fun to read. Seriously, I want more. It was awesome. In other news, I have an awkward story for you all. So there I was, watching the new Star Wars movie. (This story contains no spoilers, I promise you.) It gets to a good part and I, not realizing what I was doing, adjusted my position in the seat and ended up with my knees resting on the back of the seat in front of me. The lady in front of me felt it, then turned around and asked me politely not to put my feet on the seat. Sorry, I said, but she thought I was saying sorry in the sense that I hadn't caught what she said. She repeated herself, than I repeated myself. We each repeated ourselves 3 times before she gave up and turned back to the screen. When the movie was over, I got out as quickly as possible, just so she couldn't turn around in time to see me.
  21. We can be triplets!By the way . . . I may have gotten the Elantris 10th edition today . . . (Spoiler that isn't really a spoiler, but you may want to leave as a pleasant surprise)
  22. There once was a girl from Roshar Who wanted to play the guitar. As she started strumming, Pattern started humming, And made her a rock n' roll star.
  23. I'm sure the tears made them very nice and salty.
