  1. Two I would suggest are Written in Red and A Darker Shade of Magic.
  2. Nose bleeds (I don't even know why.)
  3. DOES THAT MAKE ME HARRY POTTER?!?
  4. "Well you see miss, we were trying--" "I see, OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!" ". . . Are their heads off?" "Their heads are gone, so please your majesty." "That's right. . . . Do you play croquet?" "Yes, your majesty." "Come on then!" You might be able to tell, but I have that entire scene nearly memorized. #PerksOfBeingInAliceInWonderlandForDrama Did anyone else learn the definition of a caucus race from the pool of tears scene?
  5. The way I get names for most of my fantasy characters: Take a word that is thematically appropriate to your character. Lightning. Put it backwards. Gninthil. Change spelling so it makes sense/looks cooler/sounds okay. Nithgil. Tada! Other names this has produced: Eneless Erif Reta Thiglena And names for worlds and races: Aemudi Dedu Wodas Eripman
  6. I've started listening to Hamilton, the broadway play. I can feel an obsession starting to bud. I'd recommend it to everybody, but if you want to stay away from explicit content (like me) skip the song labeled "Say No to This"
  7. Hmm. I'm an inexperienced weakling. But I want to offer help. I hope this motivational penguin helps you to smile.
  8. Lyra swung herself back up so she was perching on her branch. "As if I'd tell you." She sniffed and stared at the dwarf for a moment be fore asking, "What do ya mean by 'snooty elvish accent' anyway?"
  9. Agh! Why are you asking me?! Umm . . . Cecelia Redfern. She took over muggle studies after the battle of Hogwarts and her sweet temper made her very popular among both the teachers and students. Students started taking muggle studies just to be taught by her. She became the new headmistress in 2013. She is currently 36 years old. She has light blond hair and brown eyes.
  10. Yeah, it definitely depends on the church. I'm LDS, and while it isn't common for people to take notes during normal talks, it isn't unheard of. Plus there's enough little kids there that there's plenty of background noise. I don't think it would be disrespectful for other churches either. And if you're looking for worship services, may I recommend General Conference? It's a semi-annual broadcast where our religious leaders give sermons to the church all over the world. There's one next week with sessions from 10-12 and 2-4 mountain time (whatever time that is for your timezone) next saturday and sunday. It's a great oppurtunity. You'd just have to look up the nearest LDS church near you. And nearly everybody takes notes there. (I promise, I'm not trying to convert you or anything. Just thought you should know.)
  11. It would depend on the common room. I can see Gryffindors having games. I don't know about Slytherins. Probably some state of the art equipment, as long as the games and tv shows were only wizard made. Ravenclaws might have some documentaries in store, but keep the tv off most of the time as it disturbs studying. And I know next to nothing about the Hufflepuff commonroom, but I can see everyone piling onto a bunch of cushions to watch an MLP marathon together. And I am aware of how much I'm stereotyping right now.
  12. Lorelei's eyes widened as Eleanor's wand lit up. "Woah. That's neat." Then she frowned. "Just a second." The music had changed to some sountrack from a broadway show. Pretty good, even if there was a lot of American bias. "I am not throwing away my shot. I am not throwing away my --" "Sorry about that." Lorelei smiled. "It can get kinda distracting." She glanced to the side. There was a boy sitting on the ground out there. "Are you sure you don't want to come into my compartment?" she called, "I'm sure it's more comfortable than out there." ~∮~ "You want anything?" Michael asked, holding a licorice wand out. "Just a chocolate frog." Paloma replied, reaching out to take it. "I wonder if it has a good card. . . . Oh, it's just another Harry Potter. I have dozens of these already." They turned and got to the compartment Michaelhad picked for them. "Hey, I think there's more than one kid in here."
  13. Heh. Your pain. It amuses me. . . . Mostly because I felt the same way . . . It's on Amazon Instant Video, if you're willing to pay a few bucks. (It's worth it.) Edit: Memes! Yay!
  14. My jumbled thoughts about this in the most coherent way I can manage: But McLaggin was a little different in his haughtiness. The sorting hat isn't random, it does judge you by your personality. I voted Ravenclaw, because he might turn out to be an extremely talented magic user, which in turn would make him a bigger pain I guess. There's no way I could ever see him in Hufflepuff. Even though everyone says Hufflepuffs are loyal, I've always interpreted it as friendly. But in a lot of ways I guess Gryffindors and Slytherins have some similar attributes. So I haven't really reached any decision, really. I still think Slytherin sort of, because I could also see him being a bully to Lorelei, but I'm sort of just talking (typing) myself out of this. And I have no clue what I'm saying at this point. So don't mind me, I'm going back into my corner now.
  15. Why are there not more wizarding robberies? I know you can't rob Gringotts, but why not just use "accio £100" and go by anything your little wizard heart desires? You have to ask yourself these important questions.
  16. Maggie shows up looking excited, awkwardblade in hand. "I knew there was time travel involved in the Elantris 25th edition!" Then she actually reads the thread. "Oh. I thought this place would make more sense . . ." Maggie slowly shuffles away.
  17. While I see your point in making him any other house, (He might work as a Ravenclaw) it could also be fun to see the way he interacts with Shannon as the only other muggleborn in the house. Something like this? : "Welcome to Slytherin! Since I'm the only other muggleborn, I might be able to show you the ropes if you--" "Oh good, you're here. I need your help looking down on these spoiled purebloods with me." "Excuse me?" "You are excused."
  18. Well for us it would be the streets or our neighborhood and we'd want to be female so it also gives us milk, but yeah same thing. But now I'm afraid we've derailed this topic. Please go back to informing us of your woes everybody.
