  1. That seems too similar to the 3rd Ideal to me. I think it'll have to be something a bit more different.
  2. We don't really know that unless there's been a WoB I haven't seen, and I'm not entirely sure Szeth sees himself as evil. See, he at least perceives everything he did to have been forced upon him, the blame at someone else's feet. He's been used, and he knows now it was all for a lie, but it wasn't his lie. I agree that it's a danger, but it's not a fore gone conclusion to say he's definitely going to have trouble using the blade because of that.
  3. See, I couldn't stand Mat, but Perrin and Rand I loved (I know, I know). Fun to see how much personality they bring with them.
  4. I'm pretty sure that Brandon has confirmed that Pattern pretty much vanished as soon as he was placed in there (and therefore released by Shallan, essentially). Not completely certain, but I feel like I remember seeing that.
  5. Was he, or was he just heavy enough to break through the floor? I can't remember exactly how it was described.
  6. Stormlight spoilers:
  7. Actually, I'd say that leaves that possibility very wide open.
  8. I jumped over to reddit because of another thread, and started looking through Brandon's answers to questions, and I found this very juicy tidbit (spoilered for length and formatting: The highlighted response isn't the one I was really trying to show, but it was highlighted when I copied it so it stuck and I can't figure out how to remove that. The shape of the scepter is most interesting to me. Here's an image of what a Ruyi looks like: Imagine the end of that made out of moon rock, or just shaped like the moon maybe, and without the rust, and it becomes quite interesting to me.
  9. There's another response on there that's quite interesting: permalink Interesting that it's not relatively new, he's had that name in mind for over 10 years. And @Pagerunner:
  10. Interesting idea. There's no Atium around for anyone to use right now, so any Seers would have been undetected and useless, but if they discover a source of Atium, she'd suddenly become nigh-invincible, and the cubes would make that exponentially more valuable (though possibly relegating her to a behind-the-scenes factory for Atium cubes, useless again except for the "product" she supplies, rather than being out on the front lines herself, which she may or may not prefer).
  11. Actually, I doubt that would make as much difference as you think (for modern ships). Yes, they're mostly metal, but at the same time, it's far too much metal for an Allomancer to really effect. They can't push more than they weigh or can anchor, and if they tried to anchor themselves on their own ship and push or pull, they'd just move both ships, until they're crushed or ripped apart by the forces (assuming we're talking about Mistings, and even a Mistborn with Duralumin would have trouble having much of an effect).
  12. I'd be curious how much of an impact the Kandra will have on those possible religions. We know many of them will likely still be alive throughout all of the eras we see, unless there's some type of mass extinction, and they remember the truth, even if a lot of those alive (almost all) don't remember Vin, Elend, Kelsier, or Sazed personally. Harmony also speaks directly to them, so it's not like they'd twist or forget him too easily, (spoilers for Era 2 after Alloy of Law): I suspect, however, that they will continue to somewhat separate themselves from the rest of Scadrian culture and therefore not have a huge effect. It's possible they'll end up moving the other direction, though, with some of them nearly forgetting they're Kandra and trying to just live normal lives. They could even appear to age if they want, to avoid a Dorian Gray type scenario (in terms of other people coming to realize they're immortal).
  13. Upvoted just for Shardpool skinny dipping. I don't see any reason to change the term for world-hopping either, but at the same time, it would be nice to have some clarifying terms that could be used for the methods. At this point, though, we don't know enough about any methods other than using the pools or Elsecalling, so that's probably impossible to do.
  14. Sounds like the curse from the Sword of Truth series where people forgot Kahlan as soon as they saw her.
  15. Yeah, I'll finalize my cheer for Elenion now. I would have to assume that a vigilante kill happened last night, even though no one's owned up to it, or maybe someone killed someone else who killed someone else, so most of the people involved are now gone? Do we know how many ionBlades have been purchased by villagers? I know the elims get one per night, and at least one of those kills was probably from them, but I'd be surprised if all 3 were. It seems like it's too early for anyone to have saved up enough merit from posts to get one, and no one got merit from Wonko's kill, but someone got it from Bugsy, right? Looking back, I see it was Rae, so maybe she made a kill, and then there was either a Telemanus or something else I'm not thinking of involved that resulted in a second one, but I'm honestly not sure exactly how all that could have happened in the one night. I'm guessing most or all of those who do know won't or can't tell us, unfortunately, though, if my little bit of a theory is correct.
  16. I can't tell if I'm more suspicious of Bard or Dankness right now. I know, I cheered Bard last round, but we all know Wonko was Forsworn, so there wasn't any downside. Can a Lune scan Bard tonight and let me know? RP! Quintus wearily rose the next morning early enough to head to the war room. Tiberius had been absent the previous day, but Quintus knew better than to assume that excused him from attending again, in case Tiberius chose to appear. He'd heard that Gregor had found and killed the traitor Sanis during the night, which he was grateful for (as much for his own safety as for his liege's), but he was still sure there were more traitors amongst the lancers. There was no one he could trust, though. Entering the war room, though, he suddenly realized there was one other he could probably assume wasn't a traitor. Nyanah lay draped over her chair, blood drying on the ground underneath her. Not again. Quintus was getting very tired of discovering bodies. Sevro's severed head [heh] sat beside her still, gaping almost humorously at her dead body. Quintus just felt sick.
  17. Yikes, that didn't end well. I'll want to see Dani's write up, but Aman won't give anything away there unless it's intentional. I was wrong about Rae, it appears, though I was reasonably certain Doc and Dani were clean as I had mentioned last cycle. Not sure what to think of the lists of who Rae and Doc trusted and suspected. I'm mostly suspicious of the people still playing it quiet, but any of the top RPers other than the dead could have gotten the Forsworn ionBlade to do one of those kills. Did anyone make one of those kills based on a mistaken read? It'd be nice to know so we can figure out if there was coordinated misinformation. Also, I was PMing with Dani, so I'm sad she's gone. I probably need to PM someone myself.
  18. Thanks, Doc and Dani, I do need to contribute more, but I've only had the energy to RP mostly. Trying to adjust that now. :-) I've got a good read right now on Dani, and Doc's been fairly well cleared pretty much since the beginning. Looking over the list of players again, I think there's been a decent number of inactives this past cycle that I'm mildly suspicious of, but I just don't have much to go on. I passed on one reveal privately, so if the person I told wants to confirm they can, but I'd prefer it stays private for now. Edit: anyone want to play off my RP earlier, btw?
  19. You know, somehow I'd totally missed that it was Elbereth that tried to kill Rae. Rae's been gunning for me for a while, and now someone we know is clean says they didn't trust Rae, so I'm very suspicious of her. Does anyone have a way to try to clear or confirm her tonight? If not, I'll probably challenge her next cycle, since this cycle we've locked in on Wonko.
  20. I can attest that this would be a curse of near-fatal magnitude. I've had a constant headache for almost 3 years, and I've been suicidal several times in that period.
  21. That's amazing, I never knew those existed. That's precisely the image I had in my head, except with them slanted and even maybe having sections like the crests of waves (reaching out into the air a bit). That part may be untenable with the highstorms, though.
  22. From what I can see, it's not just that it's soft, but that the aluminum would leave behind a small amount of trace inside the barrel (every metal does), and while that's not a problem for most metals, aluminum gets sticky when it's hot and could really cause problems jamming the barrel. In addition, it's much lighter than lead, so the bullets wouldn't have as much inertia, making them less accurate because they'll be more susceptible to wind resistance and tumbling.
  23. Weird, the bold must have changed the color too much, because it didn't look at all teal on my monitor. Thanks. :-)
  24. Alright, RL distractions are mostly over, so I can RP and discuss a bit more now. My medical issues (see the Bad Day thread if you're curious) will still mean I might be a bit erratic in when I can get the energy to post, but I'll do my best. Quintus still reeled from the unexpected turn of events. Of course, he wasn't that surprised that Sanis was prepared enough to have a pulseShield, but seeing Lumina's blade shatter against it, then immediately finding his dagger buried in her neck, had still been disturbing to say the least. Spartacus had scooped her up almost immediately, and when he shouted for someone to wake the Yellows, Quintus sprinted towards the medbay. He considered himself to be proficient with the razor, but he had no illusions about what would happen if he was the one to catch Sanis; pulseShield or no, Sanis would cut him to pieces without much effort, even winded. At the Yellow's quarters attached to the medical facility, Quintus banged on doors and roused the doctors. One groggily rolled over and tried to go back to sleep, so Quintus bodily lifted her onto his shoulders and carried her to the surgery room where Lumina was already being placed on the table, and injected her with a stim to wake her up promptly. He then slipped out of the room while they worked, heading back to his room to lock the door and barricade himself inside, then figure out a plan of action. Tiberius was threatened by assassins; not unusual perhaps, but certainly concerning when they involved his own lancers, and now the effort to root out any remaining conspirators had to become the top priority. Hours later, with little in the way of a true plan worked out, Quintus finally worked up the courage to leave his rooms and head back to the med bay to check on Lumina. Instead of finding her synthSkin healing and her resting quietly in the bed, however, he found a pool of blood underneath her neck, her body cold and long dead. After confirming she was truly gone, he stumbled back out into the hallway and gasped to the first person he saw, "Lumina's been murdered! Again!" He hoped Lucius would jump to action as he blurted out the words, but Quintus himself had little strength to move. Lumina had been skilled and brave, but she'd had no chance as her throat was cut, probably still asleep from the sedatives administered during the surgery. He nearly collapsed from the realization, leaning heavily against the wall. No one was safe, not unless they were constantly on their guard, and his own defenses would be ineffective against an assassin would could so easily penetrate the med bay without being seen or heard. Perhaps they have a ghostCloak, but even so, that would have been a difficult task. He doubted Sanis was able to take on such a subtle attack, so there was certainly another lancer loyal to Nero au Augustus instead of Tiberius, and Quintus would need help if he wanted to protect his liege. But who could he trust? Alright, there's some RP from me. As for game discussion, I already cheered this round, but while we have that pretty much wrapped up, I like that we're attempting to continue some discussion about what next. Most of my feelings on players is just instinct and growing feelings, since I haven't had much discussion with other players (only a few PMs so far, with little in the way of reveals, though I've passed on some of what I've learned privately). I find myself agreeing with some of Rae's instincts, about Lopen and Sheep in particular, and I'm also nearly completely certain that Doc is clear. Bard challenged Wonko, but considering there was no doubt at that point, I honestly don't think that clears him. In fact, it seems like a smart play if he's Forsworn, since it would imply that he's not, and it was a very quick reaction. I'm not confident, but I'm leaning towards thinking he's either a Forsworn or maybe a serial killer who needs to take them out or some other group (I had the serial killer role explained to me privately, though I understood the basic concept, so that's fresh in my mind). Also, @Dankness Ascendant, that cheer should be in Teal.
  25. Szeth won't be able to unsheath Nightblood unless he gains a way to draw in Stormlight again (I think Brandon confirmed or implied Nightblood won't grant that ability, at least not right now for Szeth), so he'll have to fight sheathed if so. I suspect that he'll still block a sprenblade, though I don't know what the sheath itself is made of or how it would fare (a crack in that could be very bad). Both Szeth and our Radiants should probably hope to avoid that fight anytime soon.
