I'm still finishing Morning Star (got started because of the Elimination game), but they're amazing. Absolutely believe the characters and while there's almost as much death as some GRRM books, it doesn't feel random or purposeless.

I'm reasonably confident Assassin is (ironically) not a Forsworn assassin. I'm still suspicious of the inactives, which are mostly jefry and Mordse, but of course we have a replacement for Mordse now. I'm not eager to risk a repeat of last night if there's a more convincing candidate, but I'm not convinced about Burnt. Bard, Stick, I'm a bit suspicious of each of you.

Welcome, @Doxis! Kinda glad we didn't lynch Straw now. Mage, why exactly are you going after Burnt, and why shouldn't we think you're Forsworn (not that I'm going to challenge an Arcos)?

Oh, and Aman, thanks for writing the lisp so well! Editing so I don't triple post: Is there meant to be significance to us in The Carved Red? Red Rising spoilers: I didn't remember a mention of that part in the write up.

So I was figuring out that Elenion was Forsworn, but I don't know who else did and had a way to take him out. Well done! Sad our suspicions about Chaos were incorrect, and with Elenion and Mage being big parts of the discussion that led me to that path, I'm concerned we're being backed into a corner despite this victory (really not a good deal for us, though). Did anyone find out anything else useful based on your items or anything you were able to do? In fact, anyone wish to claim Elenion's death (publicly or privately)?

Don't worry, yours is on the bottom, so it's okay.

That's implied by Rock, but it's also implied within the book that he might have just been making that up, or that there's more to it. I get the impression he was able to do that without harm by virtue of something about him, which may or may not also be the reason he can see the spren.

Kaladin and Syl Question (Spoiler)
Jondesu replied to AnAirSickLowLander's topic in Stormlight Archive
My impression is that the bond was strained nearly to the breaking point, and when he tried to draw in a lot of Stormlight to save himself and the others, it was too much for the weakened bond to sustain, and while he managed just enough to save himself, the bond snapped like a rope with too much weight on it. -
I know this is a necro, but this topic contained some of my inspiration for this, so I figured it'd be worth making a Lifeless in the Warbreaker forum for this. I just took these ideas and my own image in my head and tried out a quick version in Pixelmator (like Photoshop). Let me know what everyone thinks!

I haven't ever tried making artwork before, but I realized I hadn't seen any good depictions of Nightblood and decided to give it a shot. This one is Nightblood unsheathed, without the scabbard. I'll probably try one with it and just a bit of smoke leaking out from the hilt at some point. Obviously had to take some artistic license with the blackness or otherwise it'd have been a very bland image.

Unfortunately, we don't know enough about the squires yet, but we know Bridge 4 is becoming Kaladin's squires. While they were all different and uncooperative originally, they have all come around to mostly the same attitude as Kaladin when it comes to protecting people. They've taken very enthusiastically to their bodyguard roles, and we see that really clearly with the ones who protected Adolin. I have a feeling they do have to follow the ideals to a degree as well, even if not as strictly as the Knight.
-
Yeah, I'm not convinced by the reveal of roles. That confirms she's almost certainly a Lune (though those roles are already known, one by death and the other admitted here, so it could be a false claim), but being house Lune doesn't clear her. I don't know how much use a scanner would really be anyways, with as many houses out in the open, and I'm going to keep my accusation and the duel open.

Quintus narrowed his eyes at Tenebrum's weeping defense of her silence. He wasn't convinced, but perhaps she wasn't much of a danger anyway. On the other hand… "Your brother, you thay?" He swung the razor in Jefry's direction, next to her seat. "Perhapth your thither's life ith held ranthom againtht your cooperathion? Or perhapth you hail from a thimilar family, and Darrow's unorthodoxth methodth appeal to you ath well? Jefry…" Quintus rolled his mouth around the uncommon name. "Another unuthual name, like Darrow. Maybe you found appeal in your thimilaritieths?" "Do you therve Tiberius, or do you hold allegienth to Nero au Auguthuth." He practically sneered as he said the name of the ArchGovernor's rival, making no effort to avoid the lisp as he did with Tiberius' name. Wow, that lisp is weird to write. I don't think I'll be using that character trait again. Let me know if anything I wrote is too tough to interpret through the lisp and I'll interpret. I'm not retracting my accusation against you just yet, Chaos, but I want to see how others feel. We can try the other inactives if we're convinced, but I still feel the reasoning behind choosing Chaos over jefry or Straw is relatively sound. It feels like a bit of a shot in the dark either way, though (and perhaps Chaos would truly be grateful if we let her step away from the game. )

Favourite Stormlight Archive qoute
Jondesu replied to Asasasyn in White's topic in Stormlight Archive
I always treated this one as being about Rayse as well, but what if it's both? Prophecies in the Bible often are considered to have meaning in two or more ways (sometimes about multiple people, often about the immediate time, as well as a future time, and sometimes a third meaning that isn't constrained by time). Brandon could have taken inspiration from there, and designed this passage to be a message about both Taln and Rayse. The only thing I don't know is that since this is from one of the Letters (right?), if the author of that letter truly knows what's going on with Taln. They seem more familiar with Rayse and the Shards overall. -
I've got a chance to log on quickly and read over this, and I like the conclusions we're heading towards. Mind if I do the honors, fellows? I'd like some merit so I can more successfully work on tactics to challenge Mage, if he's truly Forsworn, or if there's another Arcos out there. --- "Tenebrum au [redacted], you dithonor your liethge by thitting quietly while your fellow lanthers die around you. Your loyalthy is unclear; anthwer my challenge or fall at my feet." Quintus strove to keep the lisp at bay, but the surges of emotions during the last few days had cost him his self-control. He knew of only one way to bring these attacks under control. All lancers must prove their loyalty or face him in battle. His razor lay coiled at his side, but he lifted it towards Tenebrum as he spoke, punctuating the challenge so it's meaning couldn't be missed. "Do you therve Tiberius, or nay?" At least I managed to say Tiberius' name without the lisp, he thought.

I'd forgotten about that post from Lopen. I think the most reasonable option would be a stunFist and then ionBlade combo, but I don't know who has a either. Feel free to PM me if you have one of those. I have enough merit for a stunFist, but not for an ionBlade even with the sale.

I'm not sure. If there's another Arcos, what happens if one of them targets the other tonight? (Obviously I'm not asleep yet even though I planned to be. )

I'm not sold on lynching Lopen, nor quite convinced of Burnt, though I'm suspicious. I'm mostly becoming more suspicious of the very quiet people, with everything going down. They should be speaking up more as the population dwindles, knowing that they need to make some effort, but we have a number of people who haven't really said anything in a while. Can they chime in? Stick, Assassin, Chaos, Straw, and jefry, I'd like to hear something from ya'll. EDIT: Tomorrow's a busy day for me and I'm heading to bed already, so I probably won't be on much before the cycle ends, but I will make sure to drop in at some point.

Quintus wasn't even able to act surprised at the latest developments. Pierce hadn't even put up a fight, dismayed by the current state of affairs most likely, and had let his childhood friend decapitate him. Quintus didn't see Danii around either, and he realized as they reached Tiberius' door that Rylos hadn't joined them. He hoped the lancer would catch up with the group soon. As Khazad pounded on the door of Tiberius' chamber, Quintus stood back with Stick and Tenebrum, waiting to see what would happen. Edit: @Elenion, that's your cue if you want to RP this.

Just picked up Morning Star, and finished Earth Awakens. I'll write up a review of the whole Earth At War series (my name, I'll have to look up an official name for the trilogy) instead of one book at a time like I originally meant, in fact.

Quintus slipped back into his room to sleep that evening, unfulfilled and with nothing to show for his day. Tiberius had once again remained absent, and the lancers had bickered amongst themselves endlessly. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
