  1. Were you gifted the power, or told you now had that ability? If it specifically said gifted, I’m guessing it is a Gifter Epic rather than Calamity, though he could be in the game too.
  2. I had an idea for a Reckoners game before in which the town could either help the Reckoners kill off the Epics, or the Epics kill off the Reckoners, and could win either way, but I never worked it out to exactly what their win con would be. Just eliminating one side or the other didn't seem like it would be enough to me, not if they were going to truly have to choose for non-flavor reasons.
  3. Just that there could be either or both. An Elim team specifically would be one that has to kill off villagers, while a faction could have a different win con and could win alongside other people or factions. It all depends on how everything is set up (part of why the blackout game is so tricky, since we don’t know who has to do something to win, and since there might not even actually a traditional Elim team, though there will almost certainly be kills useable by either people or teams/factions, since this is SE).
  4. Even little old me?
  5. Jon sat back on a bench in an out of the way section of the park, typing up his latest manifesto on his laptop, and tried not to look at the people around him. Or the lava lakes. Definitely not the lava lakes. Okay, so we don’t know anything yet except our own roles, unless you’re in an Elim team or a faction that has a doc, and we don’t know which of those exist. Anyone with a PM role, can you please make sure you use it, so communication can begin? I’m open for PMs, but I can’t start them.
  6. The whole idea of Adam's first wife is something I can't even fathom where it comes from, though I haven't looked into it. The serpent and the devil being the same is something I know has been around since the early days of Christianity. There's old carvings and paintings depicting Jesus stepping on a serpent's head (fulfilling the prophecy from Genesis of "and I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed: he shall crush thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." Satan is referred to as the "ancient serpent" or just "serpent" a number of times in the New Testament, which appears to be a reference to that, though admittedly that could just be because serpents are seen as dangerous and crafty.
  7. So you didn’t get to ride the storm?
  8. That’s actually fairly clearly said, albeit not in a very specific “The serpent is the Devil, also known as Lucifer” phrase. I think most Christians would agree or even just assume that the serpent in the garden was Satan. Lucifer’s fall from heaven is actually much more up for debate, considering it’s only mentioned in allegory or poetic sections, but I think it’s pretty safe to say it would have to have been before or during Creation, and prior to the Fall and Adam and Eve being cast out from the Garden. I like Tolkien’s version, in which Melkor (his version of Lucifer) wanted to outshine and replace Illuvitar’s (God’s) plan for creation, so he tried to make something on his own. That’s very definitely fantasy and fiction, but it’s based on one version of how it could have actually happened, and one I think is at least metaphorically accurate. I suspect Lucifer’s fall happened during the time of Creation.
  9. We usually give you a few rounds of your first game before we do that. Unless you make it obvious you're an Elim, you'll be safe until probably Day 3-4.
  10. That isn’t a very convincing defense. *has flashbacks to his first game* Definitely not convincing. I had almost no trouble as an Elim, and was only ever in danger because of a teammate. I’m confused. You think DA and Megasif are linked (which I don’t really understand), and that DA is Elim, but then you think Megasif is village? You said if DA was Elim so was Sif, but then give very opposite reads (and a vote).
  11. That second one is the one that stood out, but you're right, it's less than I was taking away from it. The tone of that post in particular felt off. The vote on Eternum seemed a little odd, too, though good enough reasoning, and then being suspicious of DA for also wanting to go for Medium baffled me. It's simply not logical. I do realize this was a second vote on you, but I promise it wasn't a bandwagon. I just went down the list of the players who aren't inactive and went for the one that stood out to me. I'll consider changing it if I get a good enough reason, but right now I don't have any stronger suspicions. Also, for the record, I was partly joking when I put myself forward for Medium, though I'd do a good job if I got it, but since I want us to have a good active Medium, and one I don't think is an Elim, I'll put a vote for Eternum. I hadn't remembered that being Ysengrin didn't clear him, but even so, it's more than we've got for most players, so I feel alright considering him soft-cleared for the moment.
  12. I’m not tunneling on him anymore. And I know a lot of what I’ve posted has been noncommittal and NAI; it’s not intentional, I just haven’t really been able to pick up on much this game. I will say that I agree with Araris about the inactives: if there are kill roles that want to get rid of them, great, but let’s not lynch them unless we truly have no other candidates. I don’t consider most of that discussion indicative of alignment, but it is distracting us from finding real targets. I’m going to place my vote on Megasif for now. The way you’ve been discussing the Medium vote and the Zeta zone feels like someone trying to maintain the appearance of activity without being suspicious or implicated by what they say. It’s not working very well if so, but that’s the feel I get from your posts.
  13. I'm gonna guess that's why STINK said that. The more active a player is, the more it hurts the game (not necessarily even the village or Elims specifically) when they're killed off. Not that we should keep people around solely for that, but we should consider it.
  14. This post includes the explanation of the Cosmetic Roles themselves: And here's the announcement of the winners and their prize:
  15. No arguing about the pizza, please! We've still got more important things to worry about. Like what I'm going to do with all these wonderful cookies I made for everyone! Kintas for Medium!
  16. Where are the instructions for starting a game ourselves? I’d love to play more often, but I should be asleep or busy at the times you start then usually.
  17. Always a positive! What book is that? I don’t recognize the names.
  18. I’m getting the impression it’ll involve lots of randomness.
  19. You’re not the only one! Other people might have used that as their example, but it’s amazing. I did not see the discussion about the MEB affecting the numbers for the Zeta ability (the rules just say random number), so that’s interesting and maybe good. Disappointed they got so many from the Forest, intentionally or not.
  20. I'm more worried about the razor blades than the lasers. You're probably better off without the pizza from STINK. He probably put mayonnaise and peas on it. (Yes, that's a real thing.) Zeta was random, though, so you're right that there's not much point discussing it. They'll come back (or not) and it won't affect us for this turn. Then again, it's night, there's not that much else to talk about at the moment.
  21. Yes, I know I'm quoting myself. No, it wasn't a mistake. No, I won't be getting to this tonight after all. Yes, I know that isn't helpful. At least I'm honest?
  22. Yeah, that's always a possibility, though I didn't have any strong reading either way on him. I'm not surprised you're suspicious of me, and I've been apparently totally out of it this game, but @Eternum, you got on my radar in the last game and I can't seem to stop wanting you to be evil. I promise I won't vote on you again this game, unless I completely forget again.
  23. My bad… Obviously this is common for me to mix stuff up. So it's Flash who was targeted by the Elims, and while he's somewhat new still, he's been very active and eager (bad idea to attack him early, Elims), but could have maybe been onto something the first day? Probably not, I know I wouldn't target someone for that since it would give people clues, but I'll see if I can spot anything. More likely, they just picked someone who doesn't yet have a history of dying early, but isn't brand new either, and who they felt would end up being a threat at some stage in the game. That makes me think it's someone who's been around a while, though perhaps not one of the really long-time players. I could see that logic being used by HH, cloud, Doc, Araris, Arinian, DA, or Stick, more likely than the other players in the Forest. Myself too, I suppose, for the sake of honesty. I'll look through the posts by those players more carefully when I can.
  24. I don’t know what’s going on, but I feel like I should vote... Jon
