Do we actually even know that Demoux is originally from Scadrial? We know he's a Worldhopper and part of the 17th Shard, could he have been caught up in the rebellion on Scadrial as a young recruit, on one of his first hops? If he is actually a Skaa and from Scadrial, I'm gonna say he either heard from Kelsier or someone spreading those stories who had heard it from him, or from someone recruiting him to the 17th Shard. jW

When did Shallan break(WOR spoilers)
Jondesu replied to KnightGradient's topic in Stormlight Archive
Oh my, I just had a realization… What if Shallan's mother and her friend were part of the Skybreakers, and attempted to kill Shallan because she was a proto-Radiant? Just because Nalan might not have approved of the method and time, assuming she hadn't committed a crime, doesn't mean over-zealous followers wouldn't have. And then as a follow-up to that, what if Helaran did seek out the Skybreakers, but not to join them? What if he was seeking answers/revenge against the ones who tried to kill his sister? We don't know much about what Helaran knew, but it does seem that would be within his character if he discovered that (though it's at least implied he still thought his father killed his mother and the friend, so perhaps that's unlikely). jW -
Don't forget Kaladin immediately regretted and realized the side carry was wrong once he saw the impact. It's probably safe to say that as a soldier, Kaladin regretted the deaths of both the other bridgemen and of the (dark-eyed) soldiers that were affected by what he unthinkingly caused. It was a mistake, and one he wouldn't have caused had he realized the impact it would have, despite it saving his crew's lives. jW

Using Allomancy around the geodes is what shatters them. Kelsier just had to get close, then burn. There weren't fully formed beads in most of the geodes yet either, it seemed. jW

Theory- Stormlight and Breath Relationship
Jondesu replied to Clockwork's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I assume you've read The Way of Kings and Words of Radiance? Just in case you haven't: We know he's using Stormlight instead of his weekly breaths per WoB (someone else could probably track that down). Btw, for quotes, I just click the Quote button on the post, and make sure you don't remove the very end or very beginning of what you quote. To do it manually, I think you use [ quote ] and [ /quote ] without those spaces. jW -
It wasn't as awesome as I originally pictured, though she was adorable. It was a yellow onesie with a skirt that looked like a slice of lemon. I'll see about pictures. jW

I didn't dress up myself, but my son went as a water cup from Chipotle (he's 3). It was awesome and hilarious (he had a straw hat too, as in a hat that looked like a drinking straw). My 10-month-old was a lemon slice to go with that. jW

Beautiful and just a little creepy. 10/10. jW

I know you must have meant Kaladistick. That's a much easier to pronounce, and much more fun, name for that particular ship. I… haven't really noticed you yet, sorry, but I will not forget that very odd looking avatar, nor the Don Quixote title above it, so now that's what you're known for in my mind. jW

Petition to Make the Name for Copper/Pewter Twinborn "Archifists"
Jondesu replied to DeadFencer's topic in Mistborn
Oh. My. Gosh. That is my new name for them. I cannot imagine any other fitting name that could possibly apply. jW -
Connected to that idea, then, if Kaladin's brand was damaged in some way (let's say part of his forehead was cut away in a fight), would it grow back along with the skin, or would part of the brand stay missing? jW

For the fancy cat. jW

Do we know what the name Sazed means in the Terris language? I suspect we don't, and that Sazed likely doesn't, but it's possible it does indeed mean "Discord". That would be very fun of Brandon to throw in. jW

Now I'm sad again.

Quick note on Willshapers and Elsecallers
Jondesu replied to FirstSelector's topic in Stormlight Archive
You know, I'd forgotten about that. What is money on Roshar? Spheres. What do spheres contain? Stormlight. Maybe he doesn't actually have a problem with money. Maybe he doesn't want the Stormlight anymore. Maybe because he either doesn't want to use his surges, or it reminds him of a Spren he bonded… then killed. I'm not saying that either of those things happened, and I suspect his story is not of a proto-Radiant, but that part could actually point more to that possibility. jW -
I wonder if Denth wasn't even actually lying, but just didn't know. That's always been my impression. jW

So there's been a lot of theories about why a certain sword ended up being given to a certain insane assassin. Many revolve around a plan to destroy Odium or take revenge on the Shin, or some are more nebulous, but the topic about what would happen if Nightblood was used to fight someone with a Shardblade made me think of a much less pleasant purpose: What is Nalan (presumably insane and twisted now based on what we've seen, likely because of the attempt to break the Oathpact) has decided that the Honorblades should be destroyed? What if he plans to send Szeth back to the Shin not to get revenge on them, but because he believes that Nightblood can destroy the Honorblades themselves? He may not be able to do it himself for a variety of reasons, but perhaps Szeth has that ability, or perhaps he's simply a pawn that can be sacrificed, and now has reason to allow himself to be sacrificed (knowingly or unknowingly)? jW

I thought that it was confirmed that Sazed/Harmony changed the people so there were no more Mistborn, and made Ferrings possible? jW
-
I do suspect it's more than just moving them in Shadesmar, or else every time a bead was picked up it would move the object somewhat in the physical realm, and that doesn't appear to be the case. I wonder what it takes, and how Nazh got that ability? jW
-
I suspect the Parshendi relationship with the spren doesn't benefit the spren, though it doesn't harm them either, but the Radiant's offer Stormlight and perhaps other benefits to the spren (like possibly sentience in the physical realm, though I'm not sure if that's exclusive to Radiant-spren), which explains that particular line. jW
-
This. Everyone's trying to apply physics to this, but bubbles work on the Cognitive Realm largely, from what we've been told. Things that aren't completely in them cognitively aren't affected, and I'm guessing beams of light, waves of energy, etc, are some of those things. It's not a purely "physical" time-bubble, there's more weird magicky stuff going on that affects everything involved. jW

That's more because they are now becoming one Shard, and wouldn't separate again. That said, you're probably right that something fundamentally shifts when a Shard is splintered, and it would lose something in the reassembling. If this wasn't so similar to what happened in Mistborn, I'd like the theory even more (and I love it), but I feel there's gotta be something more appropriate for a Brandontwist. jW
-
That's definitely confirmed as Wit/Hoid, yep. How much else have you read of the Cosmere yet, by the way? Hoid keeps showing up in interesting places. jW

I think someone had asked about this before, and Brandon gave them a RAFO and either a knowing smile or a cryptic comment. There's something significant even if it's not the same flute. jW

We know for a fact that Feruchemy is of both Preservation and Ruin. Magic systems tend to intertwine between Shards, so if two incompatible Shards are on the same planet, you'll get one per Shard and one combined between them. There's potential for much more, so on Roshar The way those magic systems comes about is largely not up to the Shards directly, though they influence the way they can be used through their Intents and possibly some more intentional means. jW
