Long Game 36: State of Being
Orlok Tsubodai replied to Ecthelion III's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Locke Tekiel was rather bemused by the… interesting events that had occurred over the last forty eight hours. He'd seen a great deal in his dozens of lives, but nothing quite this ridiculous. Intentional suicide, single minded automatons, a trial involving Odium... at some point, Locke was going to settle down if he could convince Atiela to stop her constant body-hopping, and perhaps open a legal practice. He'd always been adept at spotting loopholes, and certainly enjoyed the practise of law. Perhaps he'd offer himself to the Hooded Man as a lawyer pro bono. Fighting Odium in court would build him quite the reputation. He looked at the chaos still surrounding him and sighed. Whatever would Kiireon have thought if she'd known that this was happening during her reign? She'd been distracted by other matters, he supposed, but it was still quite the oversight to miss such chaos. An alternate timeline, or some other kind of invisibility to the people of Sel? Something intriguing was occurring, at the very least. He would stay long enough to investigate a little further and see if he could make anything of the chaos. Assuming he wasn't killed yet again in the confusion, at least.- 684 replies

@Aonar Faileas, thank you very much! I hadn't realised that (clearly). Araris Valerian. @Roadwalker, you never responded to my asking why you considered Alv and I cleared. I'd still like an answer to that.- 684 replies

It's highly unlikely to be a plot - I'm merely paranoid. I think Drake can be trusted, but want to verify it regardless. I'm definitely not advocating a lynch of Drake today, though.- 684 replies

Long Game 36: State of Being
Orlok Tsubodai replied to Ecthelion III's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Apologies all. I've spent the day with El, and so haven't had time to finish looking through the thread.. I intend to do so during the night cycle, before I sleep tonight. I'm with Aonar on this, and think that there must be some sort of catch. I'm not going to vote on Yitzi tonight. I would like to see a lynch of Drake tomorrow. I can see a play where if there is a catch, such as everyone involved in the lynch of Odium losing a life, a thug eliminator leading the lynch to become a cleared villager, and causing a host of deaths. Unlikely, but I want to see Drake confirmed village.- 684 replies

Long Game 36: State of Being
Orlok Tsubodai replied to Ecthelion III's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Of course. I hope everything is ok for you, and look forward to hearing your suspicions as and when you produce them. In light of your response Drake's post (and yes, I have just spent 10 minutes trying to get the shard to cooperate with my deleting the RP in the quote), do you have any other suspicions? Well, congratulations, Drake. Yitzi. I admit to being a little surprised at an unkillable, confirmed good, scanning role being in the game, though, and will make my customary point that I abhor dictatorships, and very much hope you aren't minded to create one. @Drake Marshall, what would happen if you were lynched? Although your claim is very plausible, and it would be a brave move to bus Odium, if you can regenerate, would we theoretically be able test your claim by lynching you on D3?- 684 replies

Why do you consider Alvron and myself cleared? I'm suspicious of Alv, and am uncertain as to why you'd consider me cleared. Your logic would be interesting to see, to ensure this isn't just "pocketing".- 684 replies

Long Game 36: State of Being
Orlok Tsubodai replied to Ecthelion III's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Given how little information Ecthelion has revealed so far, that seems to me to be quite the stretch to make. In my mind, it's far more plausible to have been something revealed in PMs, given the lack of PM safety that now seems to be prevalent. At the very least, that's a scenario that doesn't rely on assuming GM intervention.- 684 replies

Long Game 36: State of Being
Orlok Tsubodai replied to Ecthelion III's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Whilst it is suspicious, the doctor is more likely to be a village role than an eliminator role, if it exists. Knowledge of it isn't something that's likely to come from knowledge as an eliminator, but from PM contacts. Before we rush to judgement, I'd like to hear from Asterion. @Jondesu, I'm terribly sorry, and acknowledge that it could have caused you difficulty.- 684 replies

@Clanky. Very well. Good to know, and self-consistent, but your actions are still uncontroversially suspicious. What are your thoughts on Alvron, Manukos, Drake, Brightness and Asterion. @Drake Marshall, I'll look through N0 and D1 shortly, but would be grateful if you could pull this post up. @Yitzi2, I presume you know the post that Drake refers to? Would you defend yourself? Really glad to see you do some analysis, Manukos. Following your analysis, are you now suspicious of any of the players involved in the lynch? Going to put some pressure on @Araris Valerian, to answer Manukos' post. @A Joe in the Bush, any thoughts, given you appear to be present?- 684 replies

Long Game 36: State of Being
Orlok Tsubodai replied to Ecthelion III's topic in Sanderson Elimination
@Alvron, to be clear, I have no issue with your initial vote on him. My suspicion comes from leaving the vote on him, and then the sudden materialisation of votes for Straw. You acknowledged in the thread that Straw had reason for inactivity, but left a toe there, which presented Straw as a choice for the lynch. @Drake Marshall, I certainly don't have a problem with items being discussed, but sought to call out that you were avoiding alignment indicative topics, and to pressure you on it. I know that it's one of my own tells as an eliminator to begin by discussing something unrelated to players, and NAI, so thought it worth questioning you. @Clanky, would you explain why you did break the tie in that manner, claiming it was for the contribution crusade, when it had already been made clear in thread that STraw would be away for some time? @Manukos, I'd draw attention to two things you've said, and ask for an explanation. "I wouldn't call him the most suspicious", and "I have not anyone else on my list". If he isn't the most suspicious player to you, who is? This reads to me like an attempt to avoid over committing to something, or hedging your view. I do agree, though, that lynching Cloud would give us a great deal of information. Equally, we want to avoid a bandwagon on Cloud on D2, which would be significantly reduce the information available to us to consider during N2, and on D3.- 684 replies

Long Game 36: State of Being
Orlok Tsubodai replied to Ecthelion III's topic in Sanderson Elimination
@Manukos, do you think that Asterion remains the most suspicious player it the game to you? Who else do you find suspicious, and why? Wat do you think of the speed with which the bandwagon sprung up on Straw? I agree that Brightness definitely isn't cleared, but do think her confusion is more likely to have come from a villager. I have three main issues with this post, @Roadwalker. The first is that my cases for voting on Manukos and Cloudjumper were not "convincing cases". They were observations of behaviour on D1 that needed an explanation, and were deserved of pressure, not a flawless case for their lynch. Secondly, if you are going to join a bandwagon, explain why you find it convincing. What part of the argument made you believe the player you are voting on is evil. If you're a villager, you want to be able to be analysed, so we can determine your innocence and move on to looking at other players. Lastly, and most importantly, everyone is capable of analysis. Your case may not appear to be the most certain, nor written in persuasive language, but you're capable of thought, and of working out what doesn't seem right. Be confident in yourself. You'll either be right, show your innocence through demonstrating your thought process, or you will learn how to better analyse future games. @Drake Marshall, I would ask, then, why you dodn't want to discuss the lynch, yet. The lynch gets more and more useful the more information we generate, and we generate information far better through a lynch discussion than a discussion on items. Trying to guide discussion onto items not only prevents you making incriminating statements, but also undermines our attempts to get reads on other players. I would argue that Straw's actions didn't constitute any evidence at all. Would you be able to tell me why you consider replicating the exact behaviour Straw has carried out in twenty games previously, whilst simultaneously announcing that he's going to be inactive on the site for a period of time covering the entire lynch, is worthy of being killed? Why is that more suspicious than the statements made by Cloud or Manukos, both of whom actually made a positive action increasing the likelihood of their being evil, whilst Straw was inactive, as he had declared himself to be? Checking in on the thread is hardly reason to lynch someone. There have been many times when I've been away, either having only a minute of time, but trying to keep up, or with very sporadic internet, and so have checked the thread and not posted.- 684 replies

Long Game 36: State of Being
Orlok Tsubodai replied to Ecthelion III's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Apologies all for the long post below. I'd like to hear responses to the below questions, and thoughts from other players on the issues I've raised. There's no point ceasing discussion simply because this is a night cycle. @StrikerEZ, what was interesting? I don’t see any useful content in this post. Was it merely to give the impression of activity? @Alvron why did you open with a vote on Straw? You’ve seen the number of times that his playstyle has got him mislynched on D1, and he’s an easy way for eliminators to prevent useful D1 lynch discussions. @Roadwalker, why join this vote without reasoning of your own? This, along with your second bandwagoning vote later in the cycle, which required significant pushing to get reassigning out of you for, does make me suspicious of you. This has been addressed before, @Manukos, but isn’t sound logic, and feels like avoiding suspicion from, and involvement in what is typically a mislynch on D1. If you were suspicious of Yitzi, why wouldn't you vote for him? @Manukos, would you rephrase the above post, and explain it? @Drake Marshall, how do you propose we gain more information for the D2 lynch if we only RP today?[/quote] You continue in that post to talk about items, which seems to me to be a very safe topic, not risking controversy, but appearing to create discussion. What did you hope to get from a discussion on items? @StrikerEZ, what advantage did you seek to gain from claiming a role? Why rely on the opinions of others? Do you not agree that that sounds like a decent way to hide behind other players? @Sami, the other votes on Alvron appear to me to have been joke votes. Where did you get the impression that “everyone else” seems to think he’s evil? Even if they did, why are you voting on him without thinking he’s evil yourself? @cloudjumper's post here has attracted a lot of attention, but it reads to me like an honest mistake, not an IKYK. @The Flash, whilst I’d now like an explanation from Alv, I agree that the votes on him weren’t justified. That said, are you not capable of coming up with an alternative lynch target yourself? @Alvron, highlighting this post too, I’d reiterate my earlier question, and ask why you think that this playstyle is remotely alignment indicative for Straw? If you don’t think it alignment indicative, why waste the D1 lynch on him? Village reading @BrightnessRadiant from this post. Her confusion as to the player who made this statement, and so is suspicious, feels genuine to me. @Araris Valerian, you’ve played 48 games, now, and have played a not insignificant number of them with Straw. Given this is very usual behaviour for him, why did you think a lynch on Straw was of more use than a lynch on Cloud? @Drake Marshall, why the significant turn around on D1 lynches from earlier this cycle? Something to do with the players currently up for the lynch? You, too, have played a large number of games with Straw, and I can’t see you really thinking that his D1 inactivity is remotely alignment indicative. Orlok Tsubodai replied to Ecthelion III's topic in Sanderson Elimination
The IKYK doesn't have to exist - you interpret it as existing. Another entirely plausible explanation is that Cloud, being a elatively new player, simply made a mistake. Now, I will continue to consider what he said, but don't like that you're drawing a conclusion from it that doesn't have to exist. Your argument feels fabricated, to me.- 684 replies

Long Game 36: State of Being
Orlok Tsubodai replied to Ecthelion III's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Elantris was on fire, and Locke finally felt at home. It had been a long time since he had been at this place in this time, but at last everything was starting to make sense again. Memories and names flashed through his mind, overwhelming him. The pendant, the Jeskeri, death. Kiireon, Edaan, Kaian. The Shaod, the return of Elantris, and fire. His second life. An age ago, almost lost to memory, with a thousand faces seen since, and many long forgotten. So much learnt, so many mistakes, but still progress. Forty-one steps, forty-one lives, on a journey searching for who knows what. Locke was trapped, lost in memory. Kaian’s admonitions, arguments with Mainem, death at the hand of Kae. Back then, Locke had been young, naive, helpless before the storm. How things have changed. He had hardened, become callous, no longer moved by the presence of death. He barely heard the words of Phil, but the voice managed to break him out of his reverie. He looked down at the fire, determined now. He would journey into Elantris himself, and face the Dakhor, as he had done before. It would not be the first time nor the last, he was certain. @little wilson, @Alvron, @Kasimir, @Mckeedee123, @winter devotion- 684 replies

@The Flash, would you care to explain why you've voted on Cloud? What about his actions and thoughts makes him a better lynch than Alv to you? @Roadwalker, would you please identify these sentences that "really trigger [your] bogey-sense"? Whilst I remain critical of Cloudjumper's view, I'm not sure it's deserved of a lynch, and don't like the bandwagon that has sprung up without people explaining their votes. For now, Roadwalker. Saying that he's suspicious, and not identifying why, seems deserved of a vote to me.- 684 replies

Manukos. Cloudjumper, how do you propose additional evidence is obtained, if we don't have an active lynch discussion today? Lynching a villager isn't something to be scared of. It happens 68% of the time. We have the lives available to generate information, so why are you seeking to minimise the information available to the village?- 684 replies
