Well I did it. I FINALLY finished WoT. It took me a little over a year mainly because of several breaks I took. There were even a few times I almost gave up (around book 7 I think). I read the last 5 back to back though. As a whole I really liked the series. The scope of the series was amazing. Individually it felt like a real chore just getting through some of the books. If I had one criticism it would be the amount of characters with only a handful being likable at all. I think Brandon did an amazing job finishing it up. That had to have been a daunting task like another painter finishing their inspirations masterpiece. The last book was just WOW! I like how it ended (well an ending) still leaving some question unanswered. Only minor criticism (and man I cannot believe I am saying this after gripping how slow the story was going) is some of the major plot lines/events seemed really rushed in the final book. All in all I am glad I invested the time and did not give up. Now I am starting Red Rising after hearing a lot of praise.

I tried to read Dauntless but couldn't get in to it after a few chapters. I will have to try again. Have you read the Man of War series by Paul Honsinger? Or Black Fleet by Joshua Dalzelle? Both are pretty good if you like military sci-fi.

Finished Towers of Midnight. Was decent but not one my favorites so far. Started A Memory of Light man this one is pretty exciting right from the start. I'm both looking forward and dreading the ending because it will finally be over.

Yes and by my calculations book 10 will be 1,736 pages long

I'm not going to knock other authors by name (I think we all know who though) that I have been desperately waiting for their next book but I wish others would follow suit with Brandon when it comes to updating their fans. I don't care if it is bad news just knowing where he is at with the process makes me feel he cares about his readers.

This is pretty much how I felt about Wise Man's Fear. If the prose was not so good I probably would have liked it a lot less.

Weedle ftw!

Just finished The Gathering Storm. Wow story has really picked up since the last book can't wait to start Towers of Midnight! Also my respect for Brandon has increased (didn't know that was possible) after reading The Gathering Storm. To take over the work Jordan did had to be a daunting task. Honestly had a hard time telling it was a different author besides a few changes with a couple character's POV. Oh and a little less descriptive. Really great work though and looking for to the last two books.

Yes the CP of wild Pokemon goes up as you level to level 30 (max level 40). So a Pokemon you catch at level 30 may be 200-300 better CP than level 20 (I don't know the actual number just that it's more). You can always power them up but you may not want to waste too much stardust on that until levels closer to 30.

I would cry.
-
Yeah that's what I did to level to 20 but now at 125k XP you need 1500 Pidgie candies with an egg to make a level.
-
I'm level 23 now and it's 125k to get to level 24. All I really care about is getting to 30 because there is no more increase on CP but it's going to take forever!
-
Man when you get past level 20 or so it takes a crazy amount of XP to gain a new level.

Finished Knife of Dreams. Things really started picking up. This has been one of my favorites so far. On to The Gathering Storm.

John Carter series is one of my favorites Same here I really enjoyed this series and it's fun to read in a early 1900s language. It's actually really imaginative when you consider how long ago the books were written. Of course the movie was horrible..

Loved The Name of the Wind. Was a little disappointed in the second book but still worth reading. Now I just wish we knew when the third book will be out...

^^ 110% agree! I guess there just wasn't enough room in the book to fit all the cloths washing instructions, straitening of skirts and descriptions of arms under breast for a reaction to one of the biggest events in the series.

I have the luxury of reading the series for the first time after its completed but I can't imagine the frustration of Path of Daggers after the concluding events of A Crown of Swords. CoT is slow but to me it was not a huge let down.

Done with Crossroads of Twilight. Honestly didn't think it was any worst than the last couple of books. Really looking forward to Knife of Dreams which from what I've seen a lot of people rank amongst the best in the series.
-
Halfway through Crossroads of Twilight and the descriptions of washing cloths has me on the edge of my seat!!!
-
Have you tried the Temeraire series?
-
Ah that makes sense.

Took over my first gym today!! For like 45 seconds.... Learned the hard way you can't defend a gym with a Pokemon you used to take it over.

I haven't tried this yet since the update but I was putting my phone in my pocket while playing racquet ball and hatching eggs like crazy. I was moving a lot but only in a small area. I'll try and test this again soon.

I get my best ones from eggs. I've been riding my bike a lot it makes hatching eggs so much easier. We live in a fairly small city and have a classic American Main Street that honestly people did not go to. That has completely changed its crazy. I've been taking my son their every other night it has tons of pokestops. I'd say there is usually 50-75 people walking around playing PokemonGo. A church even grills hotdogs and hands out waters to players. They have a patio there everyone hangs out and uses lures. There's a new coffee shop that would probably not have made it but lucky for them they are a gym. We go there every time and grab a drink. Something I probably would not have done before. We meet other players every time and chat about tips. This game for all its faults really is brilliant and I think actually doing some good getting people outside and being social.
