  1. Also last time I checked (which was fairly recently) the kindle version is also the original scene. I also choose to ignore the new scene. I never understood what was so wrong with Kaladin killing Szeth. He was protecting Dalinar from an assassin.
  2. Is he really siding with the Voidbringers though? The Singers yes but not sure I would say he is siding with the Voidbringers/Odium. He and his Skybreakers did not join either side in the Thaylen battle.
  3. Just dropping off this WoB. Does not specifically say Jasnah but I think she one of the really good candidates.
  4. On top of what has already been said one thing I do not think Brandon will do even if he decides to bring back someone that is apparently dead is leave if for another book. In the case of Jasnah and Szeth both were seen alive again in the same book they seemingly died in. I think that is one consistency we can expect form Brandon.
  5. I'm sure I missed several things in WoK and WoR but since Ive re-read them so many times it is hard to remember. The thing that drives me crazy though is not figuring out Azure sooner. I mean I suspected EVERY single new female character but her. I knew she was going to be in OB... It wasn't until she made the white on black comment that i figured it out. Brandon literally named her a color and I still didn't catch it..
  6. I'm not sure exactly what we are voting for. If it is the antagonist we lest liked I have to go Amaram. Largely because his story and motivations were so underdeveloped and he is dead now so that is probably then end to that. Similar to Aesudan built up and then dead meh... Actually I am surprised not to see Aesudan on the list. If it is my most hated antagonist I'd have to say Moash at this point.
  7. Very possible. I'd suspect Nightblood of the two. I've read the scene like 8 times since OB and Lightsong does not reference the size of the painting.
  8. Only thing I'd say about this is Felt says she doesn't like foreigners which he means world hoppers.
  9. Man I thought for sure it was the same painting except the "white" it is pretty much a perfect description. One thought though could the "white" Kaladin sees actually just be a really really light shade of red that Lightsong was able to distinguish as red because of his heightening? I know this is a stretch and I am grasping at straws here. It seemed like it was very rare for a painting to not be burned though and we know this one was. I'd say it at least has to be the same artist. I also think it is weird that if it wasn't why would Brandon RAFO it in the WoB? We know from OB that it was from the Court of Gods why keep it a secret? #rafo
  10. I pretty much agree with everything @Calderis said. The big difference is we really understand Mistborn magic and still have a lot to learn about Stormlight magic. I actually like the magic in Warbreaker over the both of them but I am probably in the minority there. I also somewhat agree with @Patrick Star that magic systems are better when they are not inherited. Of course with Hemalurgy and what the Southern Scadrians are doing there is still some non-inherited magic in Mistborn. I agree with the general sentiment though that magic is better when people have the ability to gin it beyond being born with it.
  11. Yep thats what I meant when I said a splinter. Of course I am not sure is an avatar a splinter of the shard? I have also seen it called an "aspect".
  12. Man they have a way of making the books come alive.
  13. Yeah that’s a little bit of a heavy handed review. I actually feel bad for new authors that get compared to the apex authors of thier genere. It’s easy to then compare them to those when you read the book and they will almost never live up to those expectations. I actually had zero expectations for the book. In fact I got the audio book first soley because Michael Kramer was the narrator and didn’t know anything about it. It’s a tough one to follow completely in the audio format so I read it this time. Hopefully you will like it more the second time. I do that sometimes too. I duck as I say this but I didn’t like tWoK the first time I read it.
  14. I'll admit if you are a WoT and/or Sanderson fan (which most of us are) it will feel pretty familiar. That may be good or bad depending on your own opinion. It is also a debut book so there are some things that are not perfect.
  15. Finished my re-read of The Shadow of What Was Lost. Even better the second time. Not perfect but a pretty dang good debut Fantasy novel. I get the comparisons to WoT and see Sanderson's influence but it still had enough original elements to keep me interested. I'd highly recommend checking it out if you havent read it. Really excited about starting the second book!
  16. Well dang now I want to know what the major word-shaking foreshadowing was we all missed in the ending of WoT..
  17. “We lift the bridge together, Teft,” Kaladin said. “And we carry it.”
  18. There were several in this book for me. Pretty much all the Bridge 4 pov and of course a lot in the Dalinar flashbacks. Dalinar and Jasnah after Gavilar's death when she reads tWoK to him. Renarin giving Dalinar the bottle hit me hard in the feels being a dad. Kaladin telling Teft "We lift the bridge together" after Rock killed Amaram. The scene when Lift shows up to help Dalinar in Thaylen City even with the jokes it was just a special moment.
  19. That is just one of those things you can never un-see.
  20. This show was a very pleasant surprise to me. Of course the fact I had pretty low expectations may have helped. I'm not a huge Seth McFarlane fan so didn't know what I'd think about this. Is it goofy at times? Sure but in a fun way most of the time. Only episode I didn't really like much was the one where Rob Lowe secretes the pheromone that makes EVERYONE want to hook up with him. That one was a little too over the top for me. Other than that one I enjoyed all the other episodes a lot. I think my favorite one was the one they snuck on the alien ship and Scott Grimes kept making the rental car jokes. It is not Star Trek and not a complete spoof like Galaxy Quest (which was what I was expecting) but some where in the middle. Oh and the visuals/special effects are really good and not done in the cheesy way I was expecting. Looking forward to more!
  21. Yeah but The Storm Father was the one that explained what the Everstorm does so how is he disproving his own conclusion? As far as I know his explanation is correct on the Everstorm so we choose to accept this but not what he says about Taln breaking? I agree there is a possibility he is wrong but I think he should be given the benefit of the doubt and assume he is correct without any concrete proof to the contrary.
  22. I think it makes more sense to put more weight in what is written in the actual book by someone that knows more of what is going on than any other on screen character (besides Odium and Cultivation, possible the Heralds none are countering the point though) than pure speculation.
  23. For what it is worth according to the Stormfather Taln did break.
  24. As far as the color change everyone knows red is the new gold.
  25. Agreed. I would assume it is in Ialai's possession as Sadeas was not wearing it at the time of his death. I think she should wear it @RShara He should have dual wielded the plate too then maybe the crystal stuff wouldn't have broken through
