That's really up to a person it's not like they have a strict guideline they enforce. In some social circles they're OK, in others not.

Those that can afford it remove them surgically. Those that can't try to hide them. If it's too big or from some other reason not hideable, they live like people with body deforming diseases, as social outcasts.

The Good News Thread: I'm So Excited! And I Just Can't Hide It!

I found some music I listened to 8 years ago and it's still as good as I remembered ^^ -
Dawn of War, the Warhammer 40k one? I played it and it's veery good. The combat animations between troops are very cinematic

@Oversleep it began as avoiding marks that had sharp edges (like tattoos). A smudge of dirt was fine at first. Then, as technology moved on, world became cleaner, farming was done using machines, the taboo expanded. That's a bit like in our world, women in some Arfican and Sout American tribes walk freely topless, with their breasts visible to anyone, while it's unthinkable for a woman from Europe to do so. Even if she's surrounded only by people from this tribe, she'll still wear her top. Some cultural taboos can be quite weird, like covering your left hand

Poland has no such problems. Nobody wants to come here, they go to Germany

I believe that those that are more open to immigration are just forced to idealize it by their opponents. If they admit that there are security risks, if no precautions are made, the xenophobic side will say "see, they agree with us", implying that the middle ground agrees with everything those against migration stand for. Same mechanism works the other way I guess. This discussion is very polarized, but I think most people don't have such extreme views on the matter.

@TwiLyghtSansSparkles I think this emote describes my reaction best: That's a huge amount of things to consider. I'm impressed you analyzed it so deeply, thank you! However, if I decide to share the results of Camp NaNoWriMo, you might be disappointed... the post you've just written is probably more interesting than what I'll create I've never written anything longer than a RP post here on the shard

They want to strike the iron while it's hot. The whole administration is going to be turned upside down anyway, so they might as well do both things during one reorganization... I wonder if they'll succeed. Scotland being more loyal to UE than to UK... very interesting.

I'm preparing to write something for the NaNoWriMo Camp and I have an idea I really like about the world I'll write in. I don't want to write too much about the world itself, as it's still under construction, but there is one thing I want to consult. Technology in this world is, more or less on our current level. They have airplanes, they even have means to send first humans to their moon (if there was one, haven't decided yet). They don't have anything like Internet however, but that's not that important. How do you think it would affect the world, if having any marks/tattoos/signs/dirt on your skin was taboo? You play with a pen, you accidentally draw a line on your finger -> you have to go wash it as fast as possible. You'd feel like if you weren't wearing any pants in public. Woman cannot wear any make-up, how would they enhance their looks? Would the fashion evolve differently? Bullies in school would chase others around with pens and draw something on their skin. Jobs, that are often dirty in our world, like coal miner wouldn't really exists in this culture... or would be delegated to slaves/workers from other cultures... or would require full body suits to protect from the dirt. What do you think?

I'm upset that UK voted to leave. UE was doing such a good job of integrating nations, allowing for easy travel, easy investments. I understand that British people may be afraid of immigrants, they may feel that their jobs are being stolen... Also there is this obvious thing that UK pays a lot cash to UE funds, while it doesn't receive as much in plain cash back. However, it receives other benefits. Easier trade with all other UE members, cheap work force, laws shared with other UE members that make life simply easier. There are many Polish citizens that want Poland to leave UE. They're currently not in majority, because wherever you look in Poland, you see something that is build using UE-money. They are however rising the same arguments. Some even yell that Poland is giving UE more money than it receives, while driving their car on a road funded in 90% by UE to work in a building that was build with 80% UE funds To me, this fight for "independence" from UE is wrong. Can someone tell me what UE laws were harmful for UK or PL citizens? What is the UE doing to you that you don't want? British say that immigrants take their jobs... well that's not that simple. The plumber from Poland is gonna need to eat something, live somewhere, have fun somewhere. This one person is going to help create couple of other work places for one he/she takes. It's not like there is a limit number of people that can work in given country. Number of jobs will grow with number of people. Besides, it's not like there were that many British plumbers, nurses or builders willing to work for the money the immigrants are being paid. If in the next couple of years a Ukrainian or Lithuanian will try to get the same job I want, I'm not gonna whine about it, but do my best to present a better offer to the employer. Isolation is not a way to go. Now I wonder what will be the impact of this decision on British economy, I don't know much about it, but I guess it will be interesting. What will happen with Polish workers that are currently in UK. I'm also afraid that we'll have France exiting soon... A nice video about immigrants:

Isn't there this option to make a file available offline? It's done using parachute icon I think...

I think that has more to do with your browser than with the website. What browser do you use?

@Erklitt Yeah, I have troubles with that too sometimes. This time it took me 3 tries to get the suggestions to appear after typing @. Try waiting a few seconds after typing @ or @ followed by the first letter of username you want to reference... If it still fails, backspace the @ and try again. It's clunky but it's working

Well, there are materials that work with touchscreens quite well. I have such gloves for winter, they're not perfect but very practical. Anyway, we're derailing the topic, time to complain: I feel tired, I have to stay at work till like 7:30 PM and Chaos isn't replying to my PM... Looks like I have some serious first world problems... Edit: @Delightful wanna see my Shardblade? -
