  1. Should be fine. There's even a "What do you look like?" thread if you are concerned about the "proper" place.
  2. Moon Knight! Favorite non SF/F novel?
  3. Another merry Christmas meme
  4. You can determine if you want my style of sympathy & support
  5. Whatever I want to.
  6. The Scalzi book? I haven't read it yet due to...pretentious reasons. I might give it a shot, Scalzi has certainly earned it...but I can't just turn off my pretentious switch.
  7. Morzathoth wishes he could dive to the nihilist depths I have achieved!
  8. Central American Red Bean. What's your favorite nihilist phrase?
  9. Then fill the void of meaning in your being with a Beef and Cheddar sandwich from Arby's!
  10. *obligatory snark about how we all die alone and will be forgotten, so you might as well get some jalapeno poppers from Arby's*
  11. Yeah, much like Freudian theory or Campbell's Hero's Journey, it sticks to the public mind even as the actual experts have disavowed them decades ago.
  12. Blasphemy! That's like saying a lager is the same as an ale, or that chardonnay is the same as champagne! I'm so shocked, I'm spluttering tea all over my work space! As a quick definition, Earl Grey uses an oil to give it a orange citrus flavor. Breakfast teas tend to be stronger black teas. Tea does need to be brewed right to avoid the bitter tannins. Particularly with green tea, people brew with waaay too hot water. A bit of sugar/honey and/or milk helped me to recognize tea flavors to begin with. Now, I usually drink it straight.
  13. That sounds interesting, where did you get it?
  14. @Deliiiiiightful Don't listen to the non believers, tea is the way to go! Earl grey, breakfast, it doesn't matter, just get that delicious tea in you!
  15. Essentially, your job would be to empathise and support, not provide answers. As they work out what being gender fluid means to them, you can best serve them as a trusted confident who, over the course of several conversations, helps them organize their thoughts and feelings about the matter. And sometimes, being a "safe person" to confide in is by far the most useful thing you can be.
  16. The idea of a Silverlight novella (or two or more) to tide over ravenous Cosmere hungers is an attractive one! I knew Dynamite would storm things up with regards to releasing White Sand installments. They can still prove me wrong, but they got a reputation (and this State didn't really contradict that reputation). The rest of it seems to be intent on lowering expectations, due in large part to what we got last year and the frustration of and optimistic Stormlight release schedule.

  18. "Do I contradict myself? Very well then I contradict myself; (I am large, I contain multitudes)" -Uncle Walt Whitman
  19. Or you run into a Bugs Bunny type creature who is determined to humiliate you with slapstick!
  20. That's good to hear! I probably should have waited, but I didn't know how long it would be in theaters. I'll definitely have to give it another go, probably when it's been released for home entertainment.
  21. I tried to watch Arrival. But my body decided to get really tired and sick and I couldn't stick around to finish it. And Amy Adams being the worst does not help matters either
