  1. Happy birthday, @TwiLyghtSansSparkles!
  2. The key is to learn from the experience. What about your statements was offensive? Ponder this, and you will learn something and have a more extensive viewpoint, even if preferences don't change.
  3. Verily!
  4. I, however, have no such qualms, mwahaha! 1) Then don't wear makeup. Whether other people wear it and how much of it is none of your business. 2) A girl does not choose her outfit for your benefit. It's not a cry for your attention, it's not implicit permission for you to stare. Accept that and deny what entitlement you feel you have (hint: you have none) and you'll fare better. 3) To paraphrase the Buddha: get over yourself. Your self is getting in your way of emphasising, understanding and interacting with humanity. You really ought to deny yourself and look at other viewpoints without simplistic preconceived notions and with a principle of charity.
  5. I'm sorry I've summoned a wild kitten to help fight your birthday blues, hope he doesn't cause birthday allergies!
  6. Weeeellll...It does seem like his sayings fit the ravings of a mad man...
  7. I was thinking the same thing. Someone should have him read inspirational quotes as the Joker!
  8. Irrelevant to what I'm talking about. To give an example: I've been sitting in the coldest part of the restaurant, away from any place desirable and these jerks will choose to sit next to me even though there is an entire restaurant with sufficient sitting and table space to choose from. It's not about whether they can be in/use public spaces, it's that they purposely/instinctively choose to force me into their spaces. It's similar to if I decide to drink heavily in a restaurant away from the bar in a table next to a family (with the associated drunken shoutiness). It shows an inconsideration for the people around you fueled by one's narcissistic selfishness.
  9. What if one likes kicking puppies?
  10. Part of the reason is because we pay so much! We're paying for part of your education!
  11. I get irritated about how, almost always, parents with screaming, snot-nosed kids will almost always choose to sit as close to the reader as possible in a restaurant. Seriously, the rest of the restaurant will otherwise be empty and they will choose the location closest to the reader! This is one of many reasons why I support child-free restaurants.
  12. Finished NW by Zadie Smith. Next up will be some short fiction by Jean-Paul Sartre, Michael Something-rather-or-another and Ted Chiang. Next week I'll start Temporary Kings by Anthony Powell
  13. I sometimes really hate polite people on the road. A lot of the rules of the road are there so that there is no doubt as to who should go first, politeness is not only unnecessary in those cases, it's a bloody waste of time!
  14. Woo-hoo! First Moon Knight of the New Year!
  15. Critics would be comparing it to the original one, which also had Jesus in it. So, you know, probably has little to do with that.
  16. *Taps and lights tobacco in pipe* Well it seems to me *takes a puff from the pipe and blows three smoke rings* that none of you have been to prison. For you see *gestures with pipe* restriction does not equate with imprisonment. And neither do security measures equate confinement in a penal system. *smacks lips*
  17. Hmm...I have not had Turkish brew, but it should be just fine. It sounds similar to French pressed without the pressing.
  18. One should only drink French pressed, black. Absolutely no sugar or cream. Roasted is acceptable. Drip coffee is garbage....once you've had the good stuff!
  19. It's a new year! Time to try new things! *After a bit of trying new things* Culvers sucks and 2017 sucks! Seriously, just stick with Smashburger.
  20. Jumbucks are friends, not tucker!
  21. Incidentally, I hope you Aussies start the New Year right and quit stuffing jumbucks into tucker bags.
  22. @TwiLyghtSansSparkles *hugs* Well, it seems to me that you now got a good idea of what you want and don't want... At least with regards to family, friends and locale. With your hard won independence, you can now plan and strive for those desires! Though the parting is painful currently, you can also frame it as temporary. As a "See you later" rather than a "goodbye."
  23. Well yeah, but it'll be an invisible narwhal! In 2017, I will write three short stories that have been brewing in my mind. The person below me will awaken the Eldritch God of Rabbits.
  24. 2016 giveth and 2016 taketh away. Blessed be the name of 2016!
