    @Quiver What about Monsters Unleashed, which is bloody fantastic! Honestly, I'm more peeved at DC's slow burn with the Rebirth deal. Marvel's events are mostly localized to certain series and you get one Big Ol' Event which you have to know about. I've ignored the Inhumans X-Men kerfuffle and am perfectly fine just following what I have been purchasing.

    They are, generally, personifications of forces and events we do not/did not understand. They are best used as plot devices because while they can generally resolve a lot of problems, their fey nature makes them unpredictable. That leads to some interesting humor or suspense.

    Yep. If a story can only be narrowly defined or applied, it does not have much staying power. It's better for a work to open up your world viewpoint than to close it.

    In which case, how is the first something more than anxiety and/or stress? I posit it's because popular parlance believes incorrectly that PTSD is only the purview of war experiences.
