  1. Do I dare Disturb the universe? In a minute there is time For decisions and revisions which a minute will reverse.

  2. An excellent quote, applicable for all true book lovers!
  3. The 90s and thereabouts was a good decade for angst. Much like how the 80s are a good decade for silliness
  4. Yeah, real family does not treat their own like that. My mother's side of the family is all over the United States, we are easily separated by hundreds and perhaps thousands of miles (since my aunts do love to travel). When my grandmother had hip surgery, my mother and aunts did not pull a "ah, gee... we don't live close enough to help!" There were plans dropped and schedules made so someone would always be around to help my grandmother recover. That's how sane, well-ordered loving families work: you let everyone live their lives and distance is not a limit on what you can do to support.
  5. There are a couple questions you can ask to initiate conversation. Since you're new, you can ask where a good place to eat lunch is at. After that, the conversation could be about what you liked about it do you have other suggestions? Another thing to do is be on the look out for activities going on around where you live. There's actually something online called MeetUp or something like that where you can find out specific things going on that you would be interested in.
  6. Yeah, I am now only starting to get over a cold I've had all week. Makes me somewhat irritable, especially sense I had to go and get some Alka-Seltzer Cold and Cough. I don't like taking medicine, which is going to suck as I get older and have to take a bunch of pills
  7. It's a new experience, and as such it is frightening... But that has nothing to do with your abilities our whether your mother is right. I can't say "don't let it bother you" since in my experience, the apprehensive certainty of my impending doom just happened and I could not control it. But I can say that it is not an indication of failure and it will be all right.
  8. To add to the discussion about the Lord Ruler:
  9. You might like it, I didn't personally care for it. Won't get into specifics for obvious spoilers reasons.
  10. I know sometimes (at least in other forum) someone wishing to take a break will request to be banned so as to remove the temptation. Not sure if that's the case here, but it might not be so bad, I hope.
  11. The effects of your identity being hidden will surely ripple across the cosmos
  12. Yeah, I've run into quite a few people like that...sometimes it seems everyone is like that and you have to somehow knuckle down, grin and bare it.
  13. That's good that it's coming out "soon", I'll have to start reading The Judging Eye soon.
  14. Boy, you're not kidding. I have not read Aspect Emperor yet, I figured I'd start it once the Unholy Consult comes out, but Prince of Nothing was fantastic.
  15. Particularly because of what he ends up doing in the comic... Which was also kinda dumb... Frankly, I hope they keep so little of that event, we'll wonder why they bother calling the movie Civil War.
  16. It took some doing, but I deduced the identity of the young Ookla the Incalculable.
  17. No worries, I edited my post above where I responded to you with your True Name. That way, no one can dash to your identity!
  18. That's how I figured out most of them!
  19. This story does my imperceptible heart good. When I went to my first Iron Maiden concert, a couple had their baby with them who was wearing a tiny Number of the Beast shirt. That's true parenting there
  20. Makes it rain (and will also on occasion turn into a bug to whisk away the chieftain's daughter)
  21. Here is Gone is a great song.Other necessary Goo Goo Dolls songs for the Fierce would be Name, Iris, Slide, Black Balloon, and Big Machine. Haven't really followed their stuff after Gutter Flower, though.
  22. Hyperion by John Keats, though I'm using as it's quoted in the song Hyperion by Keldian which is about Hyperion by Dan Simmons which quotes and is extensively influenced by Hyperion by John Keats
  23. Could be series fatigue, I'd suggest taking a break, but I think you'll need the break between Fires of Heaven and Lords of chaos (that one was slow for me, but the ending is very good and important)
