  1. At his current rate, assuming he writes the same amount each week and takes no breaks for holidays or goes on tours, we would have the First Draft by the end of April. I am assuming we'll have to add at least a month to that, so First Draft would be done in May. It took Tor three months to publish Words of Radiance after the final draft was finished. That would mean that to get a release of Oathbringer in December, the drafting process would have to take at the most four months (I can not find how long the WoR drafts took). In other words, I would say it's time to come to peace with seeing Oathbringer come out in 2017.
  2. For potentially being the receiver of my malevolent chuckles.
  3. For grossing out half the Shard in an attempt to help Morzathoth sleep
  4. *Continues to chuckle malevolently* Man, it's almost like my malevolent chuckles are timed!
  5. Well, maybe a befuddled cat will raise your spirits!
  6. Oh, I'm just being silly and cynical (The two usually come together for me). I hope your familial conditions improve and that most of the recent conflicts are due to the stresses of selling a house, moving and job searching. In that case, things will get better even if they presently suck.
  7. Unconditional betrayal... Family: Isn't it about time?
  8. Well, since I'm not the first one... By itself outside of any context out story, it does seem a little clunky
  9. You could always tell her that Planned Parenthood will always be there to help her avoid getting pregnant. Just be sure to take cover, because your mom will explode.
  10. Chaos can never be defeated entirely, you can only change the venue of battle.
  11. An oldie but a "arguably one of the best albums ever". The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd
  12. I don't know the time period, but you can probably take comfort in the fact that Jack London came up with his plot independently, either because he wrote it first or because Moby Dick was such a commercial failure, we only know about it today because someone after Mieville's death in college "rediscovered it" and brought it to academic rock stardom. Thus proving that whole "test of time" deal is hokum.
  13. Biochemistry, huh?
  14. Well, Kaymyth, at least your issue lasted only day... whereas I've been trying to get an issue resolved FOR OVER A FRIGGIN YEAR! *Orlion hyperventilates for a bit, forces himself to take deep breaths and "calms" down*
  15. He was a Greek Philosopher, one of the "first" (as far as recorded history goes!). I believe he posited that everything was made of one type of indivisible particle (he did not call it an "atom", but it was an atom).
  16. Ugh, I hated teacher's comments on my report card when I was in high school. Here's an example: I got an A in a class and a comment which read essentially "isn't using full potential." Incidentally, I got lectured for that comment as if I got a bad grade in that class. It was confusing, annoying and tedious.
  17. No problem, I kinda beat around the meaning for a bit there, and my first post from my phone was confrontational, so I apologize for that. Oh, and just so others don't ignorantly click on the video Kipper posted and have to call in sick tomorrow, So yeah, if you watch it now it's your own fault!
  18. I did not mean to say that introvertism is psychosomatic or diet related, my point is that extroverts experience the exact same things as well. My main point is that a lot of experiences being labeled as "introverted" happen to "extroverted" as well.
  19. Good for you, fruits and vegetables are important Now, to clarify (since I'm at a computer and not posting from a phone) the list seems to contain experiences common to everyone, not just "introverts". For example, the desire for sleep has been expressed to me by many people across the spectrum. Sometimes it's because they've done too much, they're stressed, or they have not been eating a balanced diet! In either event, it isn't a characteristic of introvert to be "sleepy" or have the desire to stare out into space devoid of thought. I add the social awkwardness criteria to be common because you know there are people who like interpersonal interactions and yet are frustrated because they can not navigate the social sphere. It's actually a very common plot point in TV Shows and movies, I suspect because a lot of the audience can relate to it. As a result, I don't view social awkwardness as a characteristic of an introvert (in otherwords, an introvert may be socially awkward, but being socially awkward does not mean you're an introvert) As far as "extroverts" getting energized by social interactions/parties? I think the actual word is "enjoyment". They are enjoying themselves, and as a result might take as much of the experience as they can before they physically exhaust themselves. It's like if you're reading book, begin to really enjoy it, and read it until the Piper Pipes at the Gates of Dawn and you realize you've lost a good night's sleep. You're not "energized", but you just enjoyed something... perhaps irresponsibly so. The "lack of energy" or "sucking of energy" is probably more conducive to not enjoying where you are at/doing rather than your introversion. Can introversion contribute to this? Sure, but not necessarily. For example, you might enjoy an hours long session of Reckoners RPG with Brandon Sanderson and Peter Ahlstrom while someone you view as "extroverted" would feel "drained" after fifteen minutes of it. It's relative! Note: I'm not going to doubt anyone's word that they lean towards being "introverted" or are "introverted", I am merely criticizing the various characteristics that have been attached to the introverted over the past few years.
