Yeah, when I think about it a big enough bubble would cut through the train tracks and be ripped out instantly even if anchored to the train. Temporal metals are so weird.

Hemalurgy requires flowing blood, IIRC (hence the name), so I don't think bind points would exist on immaterial bodies like Sazed or a sword. There's also the fact that you can't logically staple a scrap of soul encoding physical strength or something onto an object lacking such a concept.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

Yeah, there's the tones. . . Mandarin Chinese has only four though. Try living in Hong Kong hearing Cantonese all the time and figure out all nine of theirs . . . Still amazes me how many dialects they made the one written language work for. -
No, a very very very minor character would be like one of the nameless scribes, or the hypothetical people in charge of helping Adolin with bathroom business in his shardplate. Hoid has been influencing at least three major characters outright and shows up to all the important arrivals in the epilogues. He isn't that minor.

We'd need to splinter a piece of harmony out to find out I'd guess. Chances of it visually looking like god metal are good though maybe? Just that it wouldn't be a viable method of forging one, but simply a byproduct of its origin.
-
This is Sazed we're talking about. Harmonious? He's subdued and more on the docile side like most of his people, but harmonious? He's one of the few if not only rebels in Keeper history, and the Hero of Ages. His name shall be Discord, and they shall love him for it. He's adopting a non-interventional attitude despite intervening in things being what he's done all his life. He helped crush an entire empire. Something did change in him, this isn't really normal (the fact that he still cares enough to try to do things indirectly is normal though). Inaction is definitely not something from the holder himself here. The prophecy itself described him as the very opposite of Harmony.

My understanding was always that they claim the child was born after a baby Returns somewhere and force the God King to do the My Life to Yours thing, then silence anyone who knows the truth. Of course, royal locks implies that Returned can indeed conceive through some unknown method (Vasher says at much) but I don't think anyone related to the God King knows the method.

Bad pun, man. Bad pun. Need I state that again?

Kelsier was the guy who tore down the old nigh invincible empire so Elend could forge his.

Can we stop using unconfirmed names in reference to unconfirmed facts. And I think a lot of people aren't surprised about the dragons here. It's far from the craziest thing even ignoring it being true.

That's just how many years since the character's relationship with Roshar has existed from the the real life perspective.

Pulls can drag you around too. It might be literal. But then if you are heavy enough the effect on your body might be relatively minimized depending on what kind of physical model we are assuming for ironpull physics. But yeah, feruchemy doesn't prevent external crushing so good luck escaping that building you pulled towards you. All that momentum needs to go somewhere right?

Nightwatcher Boon/Bane (Game)
natc replied to killersquirrel59's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
All you get is broken pottery. The Nightwatcher ain't omnipotent nor does she think you deserve it. For the bane you're stuck in a coma where you think your wish worked. Forever I wish Windreader can wish banes away again. What? I wished earlier for her to think she isn't in an endless loop of wishing banes away, and I got bane'd into helping her. Can't have an identity crisis now. -
I wanted to answer that one because I was reading that page right then, but I can't think of a thing to guess lol XD Next person gets to pick?

So Allomancy is getting external power to avoid expending your own: Preservation Hemalurgy is tearing someone's soul and power out and attaching the decayed remains to someone else: Ruin Feruchemy; store own power for later, basically unable to do anything significant while storing: Harmony (in effect), the most inactive shard ever. He literally avoids doing things. It all makes sense.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
natc replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Every "word" as simple as they go quite literally gets its own symbol and pronunciation (ignoring combinations of the characters that can make a more complex idea). The simplest ones actually do make pictogram-esque sense because that's exactly what they are, but not many of those compared to everything else. There's really no way to figure out a pronunciation phonetically. It's basically read purely from memory. Not entirely sure why we invented something so obnoxiously complicated. And as spoken chinese dialects that use that written language come, Mandarin Chinese is simple In hindsight I wonder if Pattern can pick it up quickly. He likes shapes kinda. -

Just past first year, which was a bit too chill for my tastes. As I understand it from friends and whatnot second year onwards is hell.

I haven't tried Arabic. Is it alphabetical or something else? Because I'm Chinese, but between mostly Western schooling and childhood disuse my written Chinese skills are terrible (I speak fluently still of course). And it's really a pain to remember tens of thousands of symbols . . . You'll "only" need like a few thousand for newspapers but still. -
That could easily be a surge or a combination of their surges. I happily await for the appearance of our first dustbringer.

Am I the only one who cried at the end of Elantris?
natc replied to Eiro's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
I liked him. I'm the logic type too. Passion is not something I can describe well because I'm not sure I've felt it. He was doing what he thought would save the populace in his own way, and in the end found himself achieving that by abandoning all he stood for to, of all things a logically minded person could've done, help the losing team. I truly think he finally found something to be passionate about in his last moments, which is what saddened me about his passing. -
Renarin at the Oathgate. All zeroes (don't believe they ever mention how many)

Who seems to be dead on a regular basis I guess our definition of leading armies happened to be different. I pretty much agree with everything else. Semantics are annoying.
