My understanding was always that they claim the child was born after a baby Returns somewhere and force the God King to do the My Life to Yours thing, then silence anyone who knows the truth. Of course, royal locks implies that Returned can indeed conceive through some unknown method (Vasher says at much) but I don't think anyone related to the God King knows the method.

Just past first year, which was a bit too chill for my tastes. As I understand it from friends and whatnot second year onwards is hell.

Because I'm Chinese, but between mostly Western schooling and childhood disuse my written Chinese skills are terrible (I speak fluently still of course). I liked him. I'm the logic type too. Passion is not something I can describe well because I'm not sure I've felt it. He was doing what he thought would save the populace in his own way, and in the end found himself achieving that by abandoning all he stood for to, of all things a logically minded person could've done, help the losing team.
