This page does seem to have fallen through. A while ago, I did make something similar (#blatant advertising). I do intend to keep it up to date. I think a current OP might be better for coherence, though I guess it's up to you to decide.

I just want to know if someone's commented on this before (or even better, if Brandon has), but it's unlikely. In the Words of Radiance Cover flap, it reads as follows. The Windrunner, lost in a shattered land, balanced upon the boundary between vengeance and honor. The Lightweaver, slowly being consumed by her past, searching for the lie that she must become. The Bondsmith, born in blood and death, striving to rebuild what was destroyed. The Explorer, straddling the fates of two peoples, forced to choose between slow death and a terrible betrayal of all she believes. It is past time for them to awaken, for the Everstorm looms. And the Assassin has arrived. Okay. The Windrunner = Kaladin The Lightweaver = Shallan The Assassin = Szeth The Bondsmith = I guess what I'm trying to say is, is there a theory post about this already, or can I claim it as mine. The closest thing I could find was Tempus's hilarious Knight's Absorbent post, but I am sure there's been a lot more discussion about Voidbringer Knight Radiants that I haven't seen.

Personally, I probably wouldn't use this, at least not unless it was in conjunction with something that tells you when Brandon has made a new post on his blog. I usually try to see what's going on with that, seeing as he's dropped important information there. The reveal that he had written Bands of Mourning in the December 2014 State of the Sanderson post, for one. I don't know whether this is possible/plausible, though. I have no coding experience, whatsoever (It's one of those things I've intended at looking at for years, now).

What, the way that it just never ... seems ... to ... end... Or possibly the way that there is that awful person that you just feel like screaming "Get out! I hate you! Never come back again!" Or how about the "original" story which is just the same sad, old, depressing plotline you have seen in everything ever. Also, why did it need to get delayed twice? I'm not familiar with law, but someone had an issue with the June date, couldn't they have just said so and saved everybody the trouble from negotiating a new date again. The only reason I can think that this would be done is if REE knows that it will fall through the moment it hits the courts, so they're just delaying the result and keeping Harriet's lawyers tied up.

Is White Sands going to happen???
Young Bard replied to The Honor Spren's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Brandon has confirmed the first part (of three) would be released in 2015. (source, source) There's also info. on his website, but I can't be bothered looking for it. -
What does Duralumin + Atium or Duralumin + Lerasium do?
Young Bard replied to WayneSpren's topic in Mistborn
Hmmm... I hadn't heard about this. In reference to the original question, it would be cool to see some kind of super Mistborn, but I don't think it will happen. -
I thought a lot of you would be interested in this. There is a suggestion by a user about replacing the term "Half-Breed", as it could be construed as offensive. Here's the link.

Is it from Roshar?

I would be fine with it going either way. I believe there was a similar argument with Rick Riordan's use of the word "Half-blood" in the Percy Jackson series. So far as I know, no-one ever actually took offence at the term, but everyone was worried everyone else would. Personally, I don't think it matters overly much. True, to the average person on the street, if the term "Half-Breed" were mentioned to them, particularly out of context, it could be taken to be offensive, but the average Sanderfan who visits the 17th Shard would no better. And for reference, there are a number of younger people here who have only read 'Alcatraz'. And, so far as I am aware, none of them have had any qualms with the term. Ultimately, it's up to the administrators. I don't think it's as big a deal as you seem to be making it out to be, but if they think that it should be changed for peace of mind, then that's fine too. EDIT: Just to clarify, I in no way think that the term half-breed is appropriate to be used in reference to African-Americans, nor do I think that racial discrimination is something to be treated lightly. I just find it unlikely that someone would mistake an innocent term from a reputable forum to be meaning anything derogatory. Also, maybe you should start a poll, and see what everyone else thinks.

Cosmere City: Saga I: The Timekeeper
Young Bard replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in Inactive RPs
The sirens started wailing at the palace when the Bard was only a few blocks away. Immediately, he raced to get a better look. There would be countless people at his door about this. But, he seemed to have arrived too late. Officers were already closing off the area. Never mind. He was late to his meeting anyway. That Charden really did know his disguises. The Bard had never guessed who he was when he had walked into his office that day. Great. Now he owed the flaming aristocracy a favor. Then he felt someone behind him with his life sense. He heard a click. Without hesitation, the Bard ducked around a corner. Grabbing a particularly nasty concoction he had made from under his coat, he lobbed it over behind him, and ran. He didn't look back. -
Is anyone else pre-ordering Shadows of Self?
Young Bard replied to WayneSpren's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Surprisingly, I find my local bookstore is usually slightly cheaper than Amazon for the hardcover, and it's usually quite prompt. Plus, it helps local business. I think you'll find that most people pre-order here, though, unless I miss my guess. -
Not Sure What to Put As Title Sooo . . . RUTABAGA

I take it you enjoyed Alcatraz, then? Alcatraz vs. the Evil Librarians. -
Wow!!! I'll have to pick my game up. I've got about three unfinished Cosmere-related songs sitting on my desktop (and countless non-Cosmere related songs). Keep up the good work! P.S. If I may make a small suggestion, it's really good, but it does get slightly repetitive. Maybe an ABA format, with a new theme in the middle?

New information (Well, clearer old information at the very least, and updates for times). Edited information: Calamity is being pushed back to Christmas 2016. Alcatraz 5: The Dark Talent due in 'Summer, 2016 sometime'.

Or even better, The Emperor's Soul. It's more... Brandon, won a Hugo award, and is only about 120 pages long. Before the hardcore Reckoners fans come down upon me, what I mean by more Brandon is that it has a solid magic system (which there is still partly unexplained in the Reckoners series). In addition, Steelheart was designed with an action blockbuster movie in mind, which makes it less... original. However, the Emperor's Soul is less action based, so much as character based. It has some of the best characters I have seen from Brandon, and is one of his best books. /rant

First of all, congratulations! There is one small problem I'm having, however. The tops of the words seem to be cutting off. I am using Microsoft Office Word 2013. Changing spacing and/or font size seems to have no effect. Any ideas? Thanks.

Alethi Font and Transliterator Re-launch
Young Bard replied to Kurkistan's topic in Stormlight Archive
Just a quick question. I only just found this, and quickly downloaded it. But there seems to be an issue with the script. The top of the script keeps cutting off. I've tried changing spacing (between lines), and font size, but it made no difference. I am using a Windows 8, with a Microsoft Office 2013 program. Any ideas? -
Many spambots have been appearing lately. I was trying to think of a solution to this, however, my coding knowledge is rather limited. So, if my suggestions are impractical or impossible, then feel free to say so. 1) Post limit I find that spambots seem generally able to post a large number of posts in a short space of time. If there were something in place to prevent new posts from people who had posted twice within the space of a minute (which I think would be impossible for a human to do), then perhaps that account should be temporarily susspended, pending admin review. 2) Report suspension Alternatively, you could just have a checkbox in the report file for 'spam'. If this is checked, then the account is suspended, pending admin. investigation, particularly if the account is less than 24 hours old. Most people here are responsible, and I don't think they would abuse this. 3) Have phone numbers in post titles and posts banned Fairly self explanatory. Even if it's not spam, I don't think it's a good idea for internet privacy to be giving away phone numbers. 4) Have key phrases searched for and banned "Baba ji" and "Horoscopes" have never been mentioned by anyone except spambots and people complaining about spambots so far as I can tell. Again, if there is something intrinsically flawed with what I've suggested, feel free to mention it.

That's 3 spambots I've had to report today, and each without a page worth of content. I'll make a note in the Suggestion Box, but maybe we should have something such as a limit to how many posts can be made at once. If a person can make 2 new topics within a minute, then I find it unlikely they're human.

Is it something unique (i.e. only one of it?) or are there multiple. Does it exist in the real world? (if you're only allowed one question, then the first one.)

Can I join? I play the bassoon (if you don't know what that is, you can look it up on Google, I've had to explain it about six thousand times), and do some acting. I do some composing too. I'll post a SoundCloud link when I have time. I do some writing as well. Mainly original. That being said, I do very little actual art. I am useless at drawing.

worldbuilding Cosmere City: Worldbuilding thread
Young Bard replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in Inactive RPs
First of all, sorry for godmodding. This is my first RP, and I'm still getting used to it. I did make some presumptions, and if I stepped over the line, I apologise. I had assumed that Mist would be burning tin, which may have been presumptuous, and I had no idea that dialogue was discouraged. In future I'll bear this in mind. Can we presume that the king keeps tabs on people with magic in Cosmere City, and move on? Second of all, it seems like all the major characters are heading to this Pottery Exhibit. May I suggest the following: At the Pottery Exhibit, everybody attempts to stop Ven, successfully. However, Ven then explains that he was attempting to stop Arcus from getting the lerasium. By the time they realise he's telling the truth, Arcus has gotten the Lerasium bead(s?). From there, a single official group is set up to tackle the impending doom represented by Arcus through his nefarious scheme (which I have no idea what it is). -

Thanks. I've never had to submit a report before. But it looks like it's been removed now anyway.
