  1. That would be very nice! I want this book now!
  2. @Puck @Chaos I'll admit, books 8-10 are very downhill compared to the rest. I do assure you, however, that book 11 marks the rebirth of the series and 12 and 13 only get better. If you have time, it's worth it to trudge through. (And you will never get me to admit that I read more chapter summaries than actual chapters for books 8-10, although I don't discourage it).
  3. I love shadows!
  4. I'm starting to believe it. The first few days were my highest traffic days, what with all the new excitement. HOWEVER, I stand by my claims and will see them through one day, if not so soon.
  5. Okay I see what you're saying. I was referring to him planet hopping in the first place as opposed to him changing form. I only read snippets of comments. My bad.
  6. The only reason is if he was somehow tied in with the others that were (e.i. the Seventeenth Sharders). Maybe he was offered something he wanted and thought is was worth the time and effort. Or maybe if someone he cared about was involved. Hell, I dunno. I'm just grasping at straws trying to make one of my favorite characters even more involved in the Cosmere.
  7. Oh fine! lol. Works for me!
  8. Hm, a wild guess indeed. I won't discount it yet, however.
  9. Very good point about the sheath and one I was going to make. If something as powerful as Nightblood, which can drive men to kill, and be stopped (for the most part) by being fully sheathed, is the sheath a separate Awakened object, part of the same object somehow, or a different magic entirely? Also, as for a Lifeless viewpoint character, I think it would be very similar to the monster, Hunger, made of earth in Servant of a Dark God by John Brown. It was sentient, but didn't really have memories or feelings, only a hunger for souls. It acted very much on instincts and didn't have much humanity. I won't go into further detail for fear of spoiling a book which we aren't even discussing. Just my thought process.
  10. She's in the lead! Keep it up!
  11. Just started Name of the Wind today!
  12. Gotcha. Twilight Princess was like a not-as-good version of Ocarina of Time. Except darker. But I liked it okay.
  13. Which titles have you tried?
  14. Ok. I'll accept that.
  15.  Gah! Best game eveeeerrr!!! You neeeed to play it. Beg borrow or steal to get that game. For real.
  16. Thanks for being awesome, 17th Sharders! I like this place a lot. Also, anyone have handy a link to the letter (possibly) written by Hoid?

I'm glad you're enjoying the site!

  17. YES! That's exactly what I was thinking! You rock! I knew someone would find it for me if I didn't get to it first. So True Desolation, eh? Yeah, that souds terrible. I wonder if it will affect the rest of the Cosmere noticeably...
  18. I would like to announce that I am working on a theory which has implications that far exceed my current knowledge of the Cosmere. Looks like the Brandonothology is my only hope.
  19. So, Harry Potter marks the beginning of my true intro to fantasy reading. When I was in middle-shool, one of our teachers read to us from the Narnia books, but I don't count that because I forgot most of it. My journey really started my Junior year of high school when my wife (girlfriend at the time) started reading Harry Potter outloud to me. Yes, my girlfriend read to me outloud. Because I was too lazy to read. Anyway, she made it till about half-way through the third book before making me read outloud. After the thrid book, she'd lost interest but I had only just begun. So I started reading them myself and then finished the series shortly after. That was my first time finishing a series and I felt almost as mad about being done as I was happy. It took me forever to get over my I-wish-there-were-more-books-in-this-series phase but once I did, I started reading Wheel of Time and then Sanderson. I've been a fantasy junky ever since.
  20. Wondering if anyone else thinks the possible upcoming Desolation is much more than we think it will be.

well of course it is, or else it wouldn't be so bad :P

Exactly. I mean, I know it has to be, I just can't find enough about it to decide why it will be worse.

  21. Yeah, I can see it. It lacks the terrible syblings aspect, but I can see it. With Brandon's religious background I'm not surprised, whether it was intentional or not.
  22. I think this is a very good explanation, given the relatively little info we have in terms of the series as a whole. It would make sense that the cycle is preparing mankind for another Desolation, or something even worse. Edit: I like the "something even worse" option.
  23. Maybe that's what you're supposed to think. I am on the verge of supporting this theory of Vasher being a planet-hopper. I don't really know why. More of a feeling than anything. I think I'll pull out my handy e-book copy of Warbreaker and see if I can convince myself.
