When you consider the scope of the series, it would make sense that Brandon would not only leave many things out, but that he would also hint at these things so that everyone would want to find out in the next book, or the next, or the next, etc. @lordofsoup I think this is a pretty good theory. Something tangible left from the broken body would make sense. But when did he say he gave up part of his body? My WoK is a little rusty at the moment.

I think you have some good points, Wonko. Were the Shard shattered in the West and reforming, it could be posible that the storms are being drawn to it, and the spren are as well. Assuming this is the case, for the sake of discussion, what are the storms themselves? The spren are Spinters that follow the storm, but why the storm? For the sake of discussion.

I am currently an English major with a concentration in Creative Writing. I finally chose this after switching from Art then to Communication Disorders and then Psychology. A couple years ago I decided I loved reading so much that I should write so I could read the stories I wanted to hear. If I wrote, I could make a world become anything I wanted it to be. And so I started writing and fell in love. I never took seriously being an author as a career so I didn't pursue any education for it. Somehow though, I thought Art was more likely? I don't know. But anyway, I finally chose to take my chances. I plan to teach and write. Maybe I can live off of my writing, maybe not. Either way, writing makes me happy so I'm going to learn about it.

Name of the Wind is shaping up to be quite amazing. I honestly went in expecting to be dissapointed but I am very, very happy. If Rothfus can keep up his momentum, he will be a short step below Brandon in my book. That being said, I am pretty inexperienced as far as reading multiple authors so, I know I am missing out on some amazing people. They will be read in time.
