  1. What jacket do you own? Is it made by Timelords?
  2. I personally hope Heaven's Feel never gets an adaptation. It was so incredibly mature, I don't even know how it would get anything less than an Adults Only rating. Certainly wouldn't be capable of airing on television, because cutting the rediculously mature sections out (like they did for Zero) would result in a story that makes no sense.
  3. Watch Gungrave. Great anime. If the first episode turns you off, stay with it for one more, as the first one is different from the majority of the show.
  4. 9mi radius my friend. Totally engulfs a good chunk of Albany, according to Google Maps. It's 9mi so the Arboretum, 8mi from OSU campus, is within the bubble for Cornucopia. This also means Philomath is completely within the bubble, and half of Tangent too. It also allows for ample farmland for all of Cornucopia's crops.
  5. Clop clop clop clicked her heels as she strolled down the corridor. She missed these college campuses, the way they made her feel. She hadn't attended OSU, but she had owned the academics in her school. Those halls had been her halls. Now these halls were hers too, though for a different reason. Turning a corner, she walked a few short steps before opening a door and stepping into a class room. "Ready to move?" she asked the two women before her, "Rainmaker has summoned us. She's summoned all the Queens." "You couldn't have said that on the phone? You're such a drama queen!" Buttercup complained. Blossom and Buttercup had always had a tense relationship, what with Blossom often leading her sisters, but Buttercup thinking she could do a better job. "I figured an extra Queen for security could do Bubbles some good. I had to come here from Albany, thank you. There's a riot on that side of the bubble, and I wasn't sure how safe Bubbles's route would be." Blossom ran a few fingers through some of her hair, offering a small smile to her sister. Buttercup's face went from surprise at the mention of the riot, to anger at the jab Blossom had made at her job. "You're lucky we're related. I'd kill you otherwise." Buttercup rammed a finger into Blossom's ribs, the force causing her to take a few steps to keep from falling over. "Oh shut up you two! I finished my drawing, let's go." Bubbles rose from her seat, pushed her pencil down into her hoody, and made for the door, leaving her drawing on the desk. Blossom walked over to look at it as Buttercup checked the hallways for danger. Bubbles's had drawn Seattle. Burning. Blossom allowed the corner of her lips to rise momentarily before leaving the room after Bubbles. Bubbles walked liesurely down the hallway. There was no sense in rushing, Buttercup never let her rush indoors. Too many corners, with too few ways of escape. Without finding a window, Bubbles would never make it out of the building without Buttercup's help. She should be grateful of her sister. Afterall, it was Bubbles's own safety Buttercup was worried about. "Buttercup, can we not move faster?" Blossom complained. Buttercup ignored her though, the insult earlier souring her mood. "Give her a break, Blossom. She's been upset ever since Euphoria's attack two weeks ago. She had handpicked Bulletproof, and Decoy had been very useful. She's just doing her job, which you know she's the best at." Bubbles didn't bother turning to see her sisters response, but she did hear the audible grunt Blossom made as they reached the exit. The sun was setting beautifully, as always in Corvallis. The familiar sights of the OSU campus were painted orange in the waning sunlight before the sisters, everything clean and inviting. An outsider would never even guess the school had been turned into a headquarters for the Queens. The Epic guarding the entrance, GasMask, nodded to Buttercup as the girls took flight, light streaming behind them as they zipped to Rainmaker's office. Buttercup led the way into Rainmaker's office. She was used to being the front of a group. That's how things were when you were the Queen of Security. Looking around the office, she noticed Chase and Cornucopia already there, though Cornucopia's guards were not. Idiots, I'll have to scold them for leaving her alone. Even if she dismisses you, her safety is priority! Buttercup tried to hide her rage from showing, but it was proving difficult. As Bubbles and Blossom got into the room, she took up position by her sisters. "What's the ruckus about?" Blossom asked. "I noticed a riot outside of town on my way here from Albany." Albany, a city torn in half by Bubbles's bubble. People living inside the bubble were regular citizens of Corvallis. Those outside the bubble, though, were not. Buttercup had spent much time up in Albany getting security well equipped and in the right mindset. Shoot first. Don't bother asking questions. One could never be too careful when any of your targets could be an Epic.

  7. All right. Here's the updated, and hopefully final, forms of the Girls. I did leave the whole "they feel remorse and guilt" bit in there, but I'd like to note that they only felt such things right around the time after their Rendings. As time progressed and they used their powers more, the corruption pushed the remorse out of their minds. The negative feelings associated with the event, however, have somewhat remained, such as blaming each other for it. The only "positive" emotion that is really left is Blossom's aversion to using her lightning powers. Everyone seems fine with that, but if you haven't voiced your opinion yet and really think they shouldn't have those feelings let me know before tomorrow when I plan on setting these profiles in stone (by posting them in the profiles thread and making a debut post). Blossom: Bubbles: Buttercup:
  8. That's because it is.
  9. Though it is important that the player should enjoy their characters, given this is an online RP, and therefore collaborative, you all enjoying them is important too. Making these alterations is really no big deal, and doesn't really alter the characters too much So, instead of being afraid of the death of her sisters (and thereby binary in terms of losing powers), the event of them almost dieing wound up linking to ice skating in her mind. So she's now afraid of ice skating. Whenever she is ice skating, she loses her powers. I'm also thinking I might just make it being on frozen bodies of water, as that's more doable (getting her to ice skate against her will seems rather difficult in comparison to the weaknesses in the novels). I was under the impression that Megan was using them during her time with the Reckoners (wasn't there a point where she goes out in public with Steelheart?) though I must admit it's been quite a long while since I read the novel. In addition, Megan's powers are actually incredibly powerful, and I'm surprised Brandon hasn't showcased them in such ways yet like he has with his other magics. That all being said, I wasn't trying to imply a large percentage of Epics were that way, but certainly a larger percentage than 2 Epics total. I am confused by your last statement. Do you want me to change their profiles in such a way, or are you okay with it? To be honest, the only reason I included it is because it allows room for doubt between the sisters. This way it is more than feasible that they be turned against each other given the right circumstances. That might not happen, but it allows room for such things.
  10. From what I understood of the book, Obliteration works with you when you benefit him. Regalia enhanced his powers, so he is postponing her death. David, in that last scene, gave Obliteration the knowledge to not only discover his own weakness, but also those of other high epics whom his powers cannot kill. Now, I am also of the opinion that Oblit left David immediately because the revelation of his weakness needed immediate tending to. Also, I understand discussing this now, but shouldn't we wait to introduce Oblit until Calamity comes out? That way we have all the Reckonerverse info from books we are likely to get, and Brandon should stop RAFOing questions (unless he plans to return to ReckonEarth).
  11. All right, simple solutions are simple. I'm going to alter the girls so that Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup are their codenames. In addition, Buttercup's weakness will be iceskating, given the same backstory. I'll re-adjust Bubbles's weakness to solve Voidus's issue with it, but I want to say that just because a fear is childish does not mean someone can't have it. I am afraid of Wasps. Kobold is afraid of spiders. Though I will admit that wasps are not my greatest fear, they very well could be were I not so afraid of my parents dying (which itself could be viewed a childish fear). Though her fear is childish, that does not mean it isn't true. As for the girls feeling guilt or remorse, Phaedrus isn't the only one we see. What about Megan? With two of our major Epic characters exhibiting "positive" feelings towards vanillas, is it so hard to believe there can't be others? Do you all really think that both Limelight and Firefight are unique, that they are the only two, and that they both just so happened to run into David during their lives? Particularly when you consider the fact that Megan was actively using her powers during all of Steelheart? If the consensus is still that the girls shouldn't feel guilt or remorse about it then I'll simply remove such feelings from the profiles, there's no reason to argue. I just don't understand your points of view.
  12. For the ice breath, here's my basis for her having such a power: VIDEO!!! Watch for a minute or so. I suppose this shows that she's simply cooling, albeit rather quickly. I made them guilty because these girls are quite attached to their father. They commend him for raising them well as a single father with three daughters, and had the utmost respect for him. I put his death at the end of their Rending because it seeded doubt in the girls' minds about whether his death was actually during the Rending or after it. Moreover, we know Epics feel positive feelings after Rendings because Limelight was a rather pleasant guy. I didn't think it was too far of a stretch, particularly when you consider the respect that Regalia showed Prof even while using her powers almost constantly. She even showed some respect for David, as did Obliteration. In regards to their names, several factors influenced it. The main factor is that their situation in Corvallis is the perfect situation to not use codenames. The Queens' hold over the city is rather secure and the power that each of the sisters have in the structure of the Queens is secure. The minor factor being that their names were given to them by their father. They see no need for codenames, so they ditched them (and to be honest, Brandon's inclusion of every Epic having a codename is a bit silly. Even Steelheart's past was discovered, making the use of a codename pointless, and he actively tried killing people who knew him if I recall correctly). Weaknesses:
  13. Alrighty. Here's the profiles for the Girls. Give me some feedback on anything you feel deserves it! Also I apologize for the length of the profiles. Blossom: Bubbles: Buttercup:
  14. Man, you people sure know how to populate a thread. I was gone for 2.5 days, that's it! Anyways, I love the Corvallis post Comatose! I'm going to spend today trying to get profiles for all three Powerpuffs done and hopefully a post. I'm feeling a bit under the weather though, so please be patient. While I'm posting, is there a specific format for Epic profiles, or just the basic name, powers, MO, appearance, and bio?
  15. When something similar happened to me a few years ago, the thing that made me feel better was to let it out, even if I was just alone. If it helps though, the phrase "time heals all wounds" is true in this instance.
  16. It was bugging me too... Well, as I've said in other threads, Nale couldn't go get Nightblood, as he's bound to the Greater Roshar system. I personally think Vasher went to Roshar with Nightblood, and Nale found out about the sword and its similarities to Shardblades, and then stole it. Vasher knows Hoid, so it's possible Hoid informed him after seeiing the personal dilema that Vasher undergoes when taking Breaths. It's also possible another worldhopper informs Vasher sometime after Warbreaker (and possibly before or after Nightblood). There's easy explanations.
  17. Granted. It smells like rotten eggs, and your face morphs into this: I wish to know the secrets of the universe.
  18. This discussion has been had plenty of times, but you should know that you can't Return unless you are born on Nalthis (or do something very whacky to get Endowment to notice you and want you to Return). We also separately know Vasher is a Nalthian native ( I can't remember if this confirmation also confrimed the 5 Scholars are all Nalthians or not). I personally disagree with this theory, that the Heralds include the Scholars (in any amount). It's unnecessarily complicated, and like you note does not have any supporting evidence other than the hopes of fans. Plus, it's a little early to be knitting the books together so closely. Edit: Ninja'd
  19. Content within the MAG is considered canon until Brandon says otherwise. It's a sort of pseudo-canon. I'm pretty sure that relates to the narrative and the rules.
  20. I'm dieing. That's hilarious. Particularly the terse-ness of Mufasa.
  21. On the bright side, buying the book a second time means getting Brandon just a little more money.
  22. Are we seriously considering the energy required, or are we just discussing for fun? If we're really serious about this, I can perform the calculations when I get some free time. After all, this is essentially what I got my degree in. I think the evidence points to him absorbing the energy from the sunlight, specifically the UV rays, as there is no mention of a killer sunburn when David confronts Obliteration at the end of the novel. As for whether you're right, Voidus, and he's connecting to the sun itself, his rate of absorption needs to be capped somehow, otherwise it wouldn't have taken weeks, but rather seconds.
  23. You summed mine up pretty nicely for me!
  24. How are you converting from temp to heat without a unit of mass involved via specific heat? Moreover, where did you get the 1C=33.80F? Why are you not using °C x 9/5 + 32 = °F? I understand plugging 1C into that gives 33.80, but the way you converted is not how that works. Like at all. Maybe I've missed something you've done?
