I don't think regular rock can hold stormlight at all, uncut gemstones can, I think what Kykeon is remembering is that uncut gemstones don't hold it as well as cut ones. It's nothing to do with regular rock.

and really, you'd need another planet hopper to supply the data necessary to do the math to figure out how to get to whatever planet you were trying to get to.

I wanna see Harry Potter vs Raoden. Edit; Jasnah vs Dilaf would be philosophically amusing given their totally opposite character concepts. But it would depend on how far apart they started if they started far enough apart for Jasnah to pull off the soulcasting-laser beams she did against those thugs before Dilaf got close enough to hit her then Jasnah would win, if they started at close range Dilaf would clobber her into next century before she had a chance to do anything.

Harry Potter is good for what it is, a series ultimately aimed at children/teenagers but I wouldn't consider it the height of great literary accomplishment.

I agree. Maybe Brandon could publish it in three books published at the same time, then we cold have 16 books and not have to wait....but the WoT fans that aren't into Brandon's personal works would probably be annoyed.

the only clue we have to what the Dawnshards might be is the epigraph about "said to bind all creatures voidish and mortal" or something to that effect. Only thing I can think of is magical handcuffs. Which is just silly.

I don't like the UK covers for Brandon's books. Much prefer the NA covers.

Westminster Abbey is cool. It has the graves of lots of famous people.

I should be starting Name of the Wind within a day or two, less then 40 pages left in Academ's Fury. Actually technically I've already started it read the first chapter, already know I like the writing style.

I visited London for two weeks a few years ago, went to see the Tower,and Westminster Abbey and all those cool places, went up to Greenwich for an afternoon and got a picture of me with one foot on either side of the meridian line.
