  1. Ah. I see what you mean. Not really. When we have enough players for the games, we try to run multiple games at a time. LG's run back-to-back, with a QF running in the middle of a LG and a MR running between the QF (so they typically start toward the end of a LG and run through the LG sign-up period and end after the next LG has started). We try to make it so there's almost always a game to sign up for. But we're currently trying to get back on track with that schedule, since we had to run the games single file from about September-January since we didn't have the player numbers to support double games.
  2. The Quick Fixes (QF) are the shortest games and the Long Games (LG) are the longest. The Mid-Ranges (MR) are in between the two. Sometimes, some of the games will be longer or shorter depending on the circumstances in the games, but that's typically how it is. You can read more about the formats here (it's toward the bottom of that first post).
  3. I do not envy you people on the east coast. At all. We've had a very warm winter. One snowfall in December and since then, it's been pretty nice. I thought spring was coming early, what with the temps being 40-50 F on average, and sometimes hitting 60-65 F. It turned cold again over the weekend and the rest of the week is staying cold, though nothing at all like what you guys have been experiencing. I'm a little worried for this summer though. The last few years have been record-breaking wildfire years and with the lack of moisture thus far, it looks like this is going to be another one. And as for the climate change/global warming thing. Climate change is quite evidently a thing. However, like Snoopy, I do not believe that man has had much of a difference. The earth has always gone through varying weather cycles quite naturally and without man's involvement. This is just another one of those.
  4. I really want to say 12 Angry Men but I'm pretty sure that's not it.
  5. .......and apparently it was easy enough just knowing the medium.
  6. Hint #1: It's a movie. I'm hesitant to name the genre just yet, because I know once I do, it'll be easy-peasy from there.
  7. It is not Finding Nemo.
  8. It was the vegetarian bit that got me thinking towards dinosaurs. And after that, it was pretty easy. It's been ages since I've seen The Land Before Time movies.... Let's see..... Two enemies become friends after they're forced to work together to defeat a sociopath intent on blowing them up.
  9. Land Before Time?
  10. No, they don't feel the eyes burning into their skulls because they didn't say anything that would warrant burning eyes. Unlike you. Die, you fiend. : P
  11. You answer your question and then ask another question.
  12. I'm going to step in here for a PSA. We all know about the editing policy with posts: editing for grammar is fine, but changing more than that--reasoning, argument, angle, etc--isn't. One thing that I don't think we've addressed in the past is hiding posts. Don't do it. If you're hiding a double post, that's fine. But all other posts should be kept in the thread. Even if your logic is mistaken and you realize a vote should go onto someone else, that's where a secondary post or an edit for additional information is used. Editing/hiding is not. Thank you!
  13. This is a pretty cool idea. I can't add anything to the current discussion on Shallan since you've got it pegged down to the results I would throw out, and I don't know which one she actually is. However, I do want to say something about the SJ's: Dalinar and Adolin. In particular Dalinar. Dalinar reminds me a lot of myself. I'm an ESTJ (or I was when I took the quiz last month), but my EST preferences are all slight (11-12%), and I think I'm actually more of an ambivert than I or E, since when I took the quiz in October, I was an ISTJ. I think Dalinar is similar, though, as has been noted, he is a tough one to peg. For one, his SJ-ness and following Tanavast as much as he is makes it hard to know if the E he portrays is really him or Tanavast. There's also his position and cause. Leaders have to show a certain amount of E to be successful. They need to be able to converse with a lot of people, and the more natural the conversation is, the better. They need to be comfortable surrounded by people for long periods of time, or at least seem comfortable. Dalinar's association with so many people and his apparent calmness while talking with people he doesn't know/just met makes him appear somewhat like an E, but I think he's an I. It's just a slight preference of I over E, but I'm pretty sure he's an I. Part of that is seen pretty clearly in the size of the group he truly relies upon. In WoK, that group is largely just his family. In WoR, it branches out to include Kaladin, and I think by the end, you might be able to say Sebarial is in it too. Maybe. But that's a bit of a jump. E's, in my experience, branch out more than that, particularly to people other than family (not that family isn't included. They are, but their family doesn't make up the largest portion of the group, typically). And a bit ago, maxal or kari-no-sugata mentioned that Adolin surrounds himself with a wide group of friends, but it isn't until Shallan comes along that he really opens up. This also seems to indicate that Adolin is actually an I. He's trying to masquerade as an E, but deep down, he's an I. Probably with a higher preference of I than Dalinar. Maybe a moderate preference. Somewhere in the 25-30% range, as opposed to Dalinar's 10-15%.
  14. I just assumed Curiosity was supposed to post a funny pic and the next question. One of the most obvious is His Last Bow/His Last Vow.
  15. Well when you put it like that.... 2012: London 2008: Beijing 2004: Athens 2000: Sydney 1996: Atlanta The last three are probably totally wrong.... We'll see. WLIU, name 15 countries whose flags have blue in them. EDIT: Holy crap. I was right. I'm shocked....
  16. Chaos listens but in true Chaotic nature, he declines answering. As I am second in rank, I accept your request to join. May you bring Chaos to everyone you meet, my child.
  17. Just so you know, it's not possible to only cast a vote on one of the ballots. One must cast a vote in all three categories... #chaosforthewin
  18. Emphasis added. That's a quote from Meta earlier in the game. While he was describing the process in picking the eliminator team, he went into the process of role distribution. It's just random. There are a few different random role generators online (specifically for mafia/werewolves purposes), and I'm betting he used one of those.
  19. Well. I know who I'm cheering for in the Spectator Doc..... I may have just jinxed you and now you'll die in the first round. If so, I apologize...
  20. Well. That was exciting. 302 mentions of my name in that doc. Which doesn't even begin to rival the mentions of Claincy's name in the dead doc (half of them with delightful subscripts after them). That game was very well-played on the part of the Spiked. I'm not gonna lie and say that I wasn't irritated to have been manipulated again, but at the same time, it was my own choice to trust Claincy. And considering the situation surrounding my trust in Claincy, I don't feel too bad about that, since 98% of the time, my deduction would've been correct. Unfortunately, this fell into the 2% it was not. And I was worried about that, since it was Claincy, but I still went and did it anyway. Ah well. You live, you learn.....Or, well. In this case, you get betrayed and die, and then you learn.
  21. Claincy and Argent aren't mods and KChan and Shiv are admins. To finish off the four though....Ryan, Gamma, EHyde, and Joe ST. 15 WLIU Questions: 7 island countries 12 Princess Bride quotes 10 Monty Python quotes 10 17th shard mods 3 brightest stars 3 capitals of South Africa 20 African countries 2 doubly landlocked countries 6 European city-states and capitals 6 SE Asia countries and capitals 10 German cities with 200k population or more 20 favorite ships 35 rep levels 5 Alan Tudyk movies 6 members of the bear family Name all the MCU movies that have been released so far
  22. On the contrary, Utah is the nerdiest state in the US, and Brandon fans are nerdier than most. So most people would do both. Or--more likely--they'd skip SLCC and just go to ShardCon. That's what I would do. I went to SLCC's September event the last two years, and I will never give another penny of my money to them again because there's a gross imbalance between the two events they host and I can't afford both. A ShardCon, however, would be significantly cheaper, less crowded, more personable, and easier to get access to Brandon, whether by signing or through panels.
