  1. Excellent. A bunch of men who dislike their protectors arrange to free themselves.
  2. First off, congratulations Gamma. That was very, very well-played. I actually helped you out there. Neither of them would've died if you'd hit them the cycle before. Piff had the Spike and Vine had two lives. The only reason Vine died the next cycle was because he'd entered the lottery. And as for blaming me for your loss, I think we're all kind of to blame for our own team's losses. You guys had a chance to take out Gamma with the lynch and you chose to go after me for a second time when I was being completely honest about only having one life and no protection. If we hadn't had that alliance, I would've. At one point, you were my prime target for the syphon. If I'd used it on you, you would've died halfway into the game. But I didn't. Also, I'm amused that you made such a big stink about me potentially breaking the alliance when you'd already tried to both kill me and lynch me..... What were the words you used for that alliance again? "Or, we could go for a full blown alliance and say neither of us is allowed to kill/vote for the other for any reason for the entire game."....Note to self: never trust Araris. Ever.
  3. Keira found the bones next to the charred remains of a fire. She tried to cry, but no tears would come. She hoped Aora had put up a fight and that Finn hadn’t just bounded up to his murderer like his usual cheery self. She knew who had done it. The indentations on the ground around the fire made it obvious it had been Grak. Her eyes narrowed as she resolved to take care of the beast once and for all. Arall’s betrayal was nothing compared to this. Before she died, the thought of confronting Grak for this horrible act would’ve made her balk. But that fear was a thing of the past. The remnants of a tune floated to her on the winds, and she recognized Grak’s voice as well as the tune. It was hers. She remembered humming the strange melody, but she hadn’t thought she’d put words to it. Yet, she could hear words, and she didn’t think they were Grak’s. She headed through the streets, following the tune, quietly singing along. “It’s funny how some distance Makes everything seem small And the fears that once controlled me Can’t get to me at all.” She paused, thinking about the lyrics. Those words were oddly appropriate for her current situation. She smiled and continued. “It’s time to see what I can do To test the limits and break through; No right, no wrong, no rules for me--I’m free!” She picked up rebar from beside a building, spinning it around as she continued down the road, getting steadily closer to Grak. “Let it go, let it go. I am one with the ropes and knives. Let it go, let it go. Watch as the light leaves their eyes.” She felt the chorus grow, taking her over. “Here I stand, And here I’ll stay/ Let the death rage on!” She continued through the bridge (which I’m not putting here, sorry), and then she turned a corner, finding herself face-to-maw with Grak. It didn’t seem terribly surprised to see her. They sang together, its off-key voice harmonizing strangely with her melody. “Here I stand With the friends I slay Let the death rage on, The blood never bothered me anyway!” They stopped and stared at each other. She broke the silence first. “You killed my friends. Aora and Finn. You ate them. And then you stole my song. Those words were mine. Not yours. What friends have you slain? What fears controlled you? You can’t even feel!” She spun the rebar, and stepped toward Grak. “This is for Aora and Finn.”
  4. Um, no, I'm pretty sure that's wrong. Arall: 2 (Dow, Keira) Keira: 1 (Arall) I believe Gamma is voting for you as well; he just hasn't placed his vote. So that will put it as Arall: 3, Keira: 1. Even if Gamma for some reason doesn't vote for you and votes for me (which I don't see happening), that will still put it as a tie. Arall: 2, Keira: 2. So the only way you'd think that I would die is if you have the Void Sphere, in which case the vote would be Keira: 1. One vote isn't enough to kill someone. So it will still be me and Gamma with the lottery items and you without a Void Sphere (assuming you even have one, which I still doubt).
  5. Keira and Kenna are entirely different.....except for the fact that they're both Epics. And that their names start with K. Regardless, I contest the validity of your statements. I've never broken an actual alliance I had with someone. The Gamma and Aonar bit was probably the closest I came, but we never really had an alliance there. We were all working together, yes, but it was more of a tentative alliance rather than a clearly worded alliance, and anyway, I couldn't follow through and kill Gamma anyway. He and Aonar both survived and joined me in my Epic cause. All the other times when an alliance was broken, it wasn't me doing the breaking. In all these games, I've made alliances with Gamma and Wes in LG4; Wes, Kas, Aonar, Maill, and Jerric in LG6; Claincy, Maill, Hero, and Sarc in the AG; and Luckat, Aonar, Gamma, Twei, Winter, and you in this game. I didn't break any of the LG6 or AG alliances, or Gamma's in LG4. All of those I stayed true to until either I died, the other person died, or the game was over. Winter's is an iffy one. I wouldn't count it as breaking, since we'd had a plan, and I wasn't expecting her to die like she did (she wouldn't have if Karlin hadn't had the Void Sphere). And the rest were broken by the other parties, whether through threats or blatantly trying to kill me. So to say that I've never been loyal to a team that even has a decent motive is an outright lie. I am. The alliances that get broken aren't through me breaking them. My allies break them, and I have to kill them for betraying me. That's not me breaking them. That's me saying that I don't take betrayal lightly and if someone is going to callously make an alliance and then not have the integrity to stick to their words, I'm going to use all my power to kill them for lying to me, because they wouldn't hesitate to kill me if they had the chance and the means to do so. And don't deny that. You know it's true. This game proves that. Basically, if I state something very clearly, I mean it, and I won't break it. I'm very loyal to alliances when people can actually pin me down on my words and the terms of the alliance. It's when I'm vague that you should be wary. I expect others to have that same integrity, but I get that this is a game of backstabbing and betrayal, so some people don't mean what they say and they know they don't when they say it. But just because I know that doesn't mean I'll be quick to forgive them and overlook their gross error in leading me on. Also, I doubt you have the Void Sphere, though it's a clever move trying to make us think you have it. Even if you do, that's not going to keep you alive. It'll just delay your death another cycle, and Gamma and I will both have lottery items, so....you're still going to die.
  6. Keira gasped, her eyes shooting open. Her face felt stretched tight, and she brought her hands up to rub some life back into her cold skin, when she realized her hands were red. Covered in red. Blood. She was covered in blood. Her skin, her clothes…. That’s right. They drowned her in blood. She felt like she should be gagging at that thought, but for some reason, her gag reflex was gone. She felt different, but she supposed that was what happened when one died. Not that she’d thought for a second that that would stick. After all, she was a Healer. She was the gift that kept on giving. They had all tried to kill her--twice even--but had it worked? No. She was back, and with a vengeance. She’d taken names, and now she was ready to deliver payback. First to Tristal and Arall. She wandered around in the shadows of the city for a bit, orienting herself on everything she’d missed. She stumbled over Tristal’s body at some point, and mentally crossed his name off her list. She found Arall in the distance across the town square, arguing with Grak and Dow about something called Odium, whatever that was. It looked like those three were all that was left. Made things easy for her. She stepped out in the open, quickly crossing the square before the three even realized she was there. She wasn’t sure if the shock on their faces was more from seeing her alive or the fact that she was covered in blood. She didn’t really care, either way. This covered-in-blood thing was a good look. She looked at Arall. “You thought you could get rid of me that easily? You said we wouldn’t try to kill the other for any reason. And then you tried to kill me. You broke our alliance. For that, I require blood. Your blood, Arall. I hope you're ready to embrace Death. Maybe he'll spit you out like he did me, but I wouldn't count on it.”
  7. Apparently bio teachers really like kings with those mnemonics, because I learned it with Kings Play Chess On Flat Girls' Stomachs. (I have no idea where my bio teacher came up with this at, but it's a rather amusing visual.... )
  8. Order! I could get all of them except the O, and it was killing me. Though, I wouldn't have been able to get Domain if it hadn't been a freebie, since that wasn't taught when I went through high school bio 13 years ago.
  9. There's a reason I arranged a lynch on him the first time he died. I knew he had it. He told me and Luckat right after the first lottery, at the same time I told them I'd gotten the syphon (which I then used to kill Bort. And then Sart had to go and hit me as he died, so I lost that extra life ). As for why I didn't say it last cycle, I knew it wouldn't save me. You guys were gung-ho on lynching me, so I tried some other things to escape it, like using a Grenade on Tulir, but then Araris had to break our early-game alliance and vote against me..... As for this lynch, I'm going to assume that the Librarians are with me on lynching Gamma, since right now it's just a Rithmatist and a Cosmere voting for me. Apparently they really, really want to help the Librarians win. However, in case the Librarians aren't sure who to vote for, I know you guys have a shotgun. I even have a fair idea where it's at. I have one life and zero protection. If you really want to kill me, use one of those shots on me. I'd much rather die to a hit than to another lynch. And to be honest, I welcome death, so even if I could arrange protection, I wouldn't. I've got more important things to do in real life, like go to my aunt's wedding tomorrow and spend time with family I haven't seen in years. So really, this couldn't come at a more opportune time. So use the lynch to kill someone now you'd already have to kill by lynch later. Far easier and simpler. Lastly, Gamma, just so you know, I didn't make those plans with Twei to wipe out the Rithmatists because you and Luckat were going for your win. I was doing the same thing, so that would be hypocritical. I would've been perfectly happy continuing our very tentative alliance for a little bit longer. So why did I do it? You guys teamed up with Newan (and apparently Twei as well) to kill me. And the thing is, you knew I knew that. I confronted you guys about it. If you really wanted salvage things, you should've turned the tables on Twei right then and been like, "Wow. Twei said that? Funny, because in our PM with Newan, she was the one who wanted to kill you the most." And then I probably would've happily helped you guys kill her....but you didn't. We had a very tentative alliance that broke when you guys tried to kill me, so I killed you instead. Simple as that. If you'd left me out of it, most of your team would still be alive. I likely won't be around for the rest of the cycle. I just drove four hours to my parents' and I'll be busy the rest of the night, but keeping track via email notifications. Since I expect to die, I'm going to wish the Librarians luck, not they need it. They've pretty much got the game in the bag since the only way anyone else can win is through a temporary alliance and no one seems to want to do that. :/
  10. So I lied. I had two lives. Now I only have one life. I expect to die today from a kill, so I'm going to request we use the lynch to take down Gamma, as that would be strategic for everyone (except the Rithmatists) since he holds the detonator glass. The only way to kill him is through a lynch anyway, so you might as well take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.
  11. These votes on me are curious, particularly considering who they're coming from. The Forgotten and the Mistborn? I can understand the Mistborn, bitter that I killed his team's leader and now Cosmere doesn't have a chance of winning, although he is the only kill role left in the game now that Mitosis is dead. But Karlin? The Rithmatists might actually still have a shot at winning, but not if you don't target the strongest faction. And trust me, that's not the Epics. I didn't even enter the lottery last cycle, despite what Twei said, because I knew I'd take a hit. And I was right. I did. You're welcome to kill me, but you're throwing the win away. Just so you know. The Librarians have a shotgun, a protective role, and 2 full-life Romance Novel Monsters. If you really want to throw the game and give the win to them, feel free. I'll even vote for myself with you. Wilson.
  12. Back in the day.....Yeah, when I emailed Brandon back in 2009 to ask very, very nicely for Scribbler (which is now Rithmatist for those who don't know), he sent it to me 2 weeks later....
  13. Depends on the game and the condition of it. I wish my parents had kept our NES console. We used to play the NES, SNES, and N64 interchangeably. Good times, those....
  14. Yeah. Same creators, and they tend to cross over in different games (Mario Kart, Super Smash Brothers). They're pretty comparable, though I wouldn't consider myself an expert on the subject. I haven't played many solo Mario games besides Super Mario Bros, and that was 20 years ago (and I haven't really liked the other Mario games I've played, like Mario Kart and Mario Party), and the only Donkey Kong game I played was the first Donkey Kong Country, so I'm positive there are people who know far better.
  15. I don't play much in the way of video games anymore, and I didn't a lot when I was younger either, but I did far more then than now. Not much console though. I loved watching my sister play Ocarina of Time, but I never personally got into it. I enjoyed multiplayer GoldenEye, and I played a bit of Donkey Kong but that was more because I thought the mine carts were a blast. I did more PC games than anything else. Started out on Whiplash and Command & Conquer and went from those to Age of Empires (haven't played any of that franchise after Age of Kings) and Need for Speed (particularly Most Wanted, though I don't think that's old-timey since it was 2005). If I were to do any gaming now, I'd probably pick back up Command & Conquer, AoE, and Most Wanted.
  16. What counts as looking it up? I have a bracket for work so I'm keeping track of how I'm doing based on that (since the pool winner gets like $300...but I'm not going to win, sadly, since I'm not doing too great, though I am doing better than last year....), so I can answer it, but I'm not sure it counts, since technically I looked at the bracket, even if it wasn't to answer this question.
  17. Twei. She manipulated me into helping her kill Newan and Luckat, and I know that either she or Piff is the Mistborn, because one of them cancelled Luckat's protection action, which led to Sart and Luckat both dying when only one of them should've died. Fair warning though: there's a good chance Twei won't die from the lynch today. Either she's a Lifeless and will attempt to enter the lottery, but will stop to keep her second life so she doesn't die to the lynch (which is good, because then Cosmere can't get a shotgun), or she's the Mistborn and has the Spike and won't die because of that. She'll also likely still enter the lottery, because she's entered every single lottery. I'm not sure if this is because she's actually Lifeless, or if she's the Mistborn pretending to be Lifeless, and to be honest I keep going back and forth on which one I think she is so I've rather given up on guessing at this point.
  18. Keira watched the group gathering around Cleo and Kae. She felt a little bad for the duo, since they’d been so helpful to her early on, saving her from that hideous monstrosity Figgldygrak. Yet she’d seen Kae dueling Eol purely to distract him from Cleo sneaking up behind to kill him. She’d even seen Cleo stab Tammy with the rebar just so Kae could drop a slab of concrete on her head. As much as she appreciated them saving her, she was just as certain that Cleo and Kae’s time had come.
  19. Carrie could work too. Can we get some hints, Winter?
  20. You're welcome. I was your first vote. On every category.
