Yeah. Actually, deleting the background shouldn't be too difficult, so long as you can find some sort of "eraser + paint bucket" tool. The only trouble would be the lumuoles, which are semi-transparently mixed with the solid black.

Apologies, but no. I made this using some online tool (Fotor) + MS Paint, both of which only gave me JPG's and (annoyingly) didn't allow me to save the layers upon completion. I was pretty miffed.

Yeah? Even better. Were you imagining it taking place solely in Elantris? Or just Opelon in general?

Speaking of which, I guess I'm just in a banner-making mood today: The first one is basic, the second one is customizable (anyone who wants to can add the name and symbol of their trademark Epic.) The third is horizontally compressed because, you know, sig restrictions.

Alright. Here we go. A Diaemus banner, compressed to 17S signature restrictions: And here's a more basic version:

This sounds interesting. How about Elantris just 3 or 4 years after the Shaod, before the gangs as we know them have appeared.

I assumed that their mandibles were more complex than an ordinary spider's, sort of like a chasmfiend. Arachnids of that size would probably need some sort of breathing apparatus like lungs anyway, right? Speaking seems plausible, though I imagine that Rachnyx languages might include the clicking of the mandibles as well as ordinary speech. In my headcanon, the Rachnyx are so old that they see the different Rachnyx races as being just as different as Humans and Dromeans are from eachother. Having different methods of communication, tolerance of sunlight, and sensory perception aren't out of the question.

For now, let's just keep working on the worldbuilding. Hopefully, that, along with the end of November, will revitalize this project. Put all of your thoughts down on the wiki and just keep expanding on them.

It's just the next step in evolution, people. Get used to it.

1 of the 4 pages talking about that one region. Putting everything on the wiki was a lot more work than I thought, but there's nothing that Pendulum music and caffeinated soda can't accomplish. I suppose so.

The haters said we couldn't do it, but we did it (cue sunglasses ) I just finished one of the four pages that will describe one of the four regions I might end up doing. Progress. Sweet progress. For some reason, it makes me happy.

Diaemus Project - Maps and Cartography
Mckeedee123 replied to Young Bard's topic in Creator's Corner
I like where this is going. I've been thinking about a new region called the "Cenni Highlands" located just to the east of the Torbud Empire. Would it be okay to extend out "my" area east to the edge of the desert? At this point, it's unlikely we'll fill up the entire world anyway, right?- 73 replies

Oh no... the entire Trifecta? Neverthere! Run! Horrible things are about to happen! I never hated you as much as the rest of the ATTD Epics! Go to Nighthound if you have to! Just don't stay in any location where Timeport is about to get "frisky!"

Eh. Then perhaps Edunulites would work. Or, if you were feeling crazy, you could do something like "The Edunulthaq." I don't know how much of the thread you've read already, but for naming, pretty much all you have to do is pull up a list of foreign language words like this, then mix and match syllables until you have something you like. It's kind of fun.

Hmm... (an entire race of snooty artists? Let's try a French root.) Maybe the "Voiryx?"

The islands are part of the same climate, but have different species of flora and fauna that necessitate different hunting and gathering strategies? That's prehistoric population diffusion right there.

Well, either way, I call dibs on MouldbreakerTM fruit-flavored gelatin mix. Orange CrushTM sunglasses are a fine idea, too, except it may be difficult to get rights to the name.

Really? You want us to sell out before we even have a major motion picture to our name?

Pretty sure he's going along with the City Guard for now. I was mostly talking about that one vanilla character, though.

Do they not have Mexican food in Australia? Because I've heard that Latin food isn't really an international thing, but I refuse to believe it. I don't think any other cuisine can top all-you-can-eat tortilla chips, horchata, and pretty much every latin dish ever created. EDIT: By the way, I'd love to join in on that pursuit, one character or another.

Basically, except the ratio is one day to one RL week.

They were. I don't really care how the matches are figured (though I was thinking that using this system would make them seem a bit more intentional.) If Soulcaster does all of the matchmaking himself, though, do you still want to figure it by just ranking the winner directly above the loser?

I've given it some thought. There'd probably be three tiers: God tier, which contains Epics with powers that are very strong but not interesting to watch (insta-kills, essentially.) Corpsemaker would fall into this category. Then Normal tier, which has Epics with powers that are useful in combat, then hand-to-hand, which has Epics whose powers aren't really useful in combat, or vanillas who have become arena regulars. Epics can swap down to tiers lower than their own by switching powersets. How is it configured? Huh. How about this. When two Epics fight, if the lower-ranked one wins, they immediately rise to the spot above the higher ranked one. It works on a challenge system where Epics can't refuse a challenge from an opponent within three ranks of them, but can accept them if they want to. Epics will only answer one challenge at a time, with Soulcaster deciding which one goes through. So Epics might do one or two fights a day, or none at all, depending on whether they challenged someone or someone challenged them. Wow. That block of text was pretty confusing, but yeah. And should we have decided on all of this before we started writing the thread? Yes, probably.
