I was just throwing ideas out there. I was hoping other people would come up with better suggestions, so yeah.

Alright. In that case, we might want to group them together.

I forgot that you wrote both of them. I can imagine that getting boring pretty quick.

Do you think that if I watched a few horror movies, it would scrub my mind clean after that? On another note, what do you think would be some interesting initial character combinations for The Dalles tomorrow? And by interesting I mean either "having a dynamic where normally they'd murder each other, but are held back by TDCG," or "being easily shippable." Triggers: -Frostfire: Anything annoying, right? -Glamour: Not sure if he even gets angry or not -Orange Crush: Very touchy about personal space. -Redlight: We can probably forget about her for now. Does she even do field work? -Arsenal: Lewdness, laziness... pretty much anything. I don't think he'd be risking himself in the field normally, though. -Scribbler: I don't know her too well, but... maybe Epics that enjoy being Corrupted? -Shiny Sparkle: Again, not sure what ticks her off. Is she gonna stick around or not? -Edgerunner: Abusive boyfriends or something? Idunno. -Deathwish: ...people who think they're cooler than him? -Ozymandias: I don't think he gets ticked off too easily. -Elsa: Is she... dead? I'm not sure what happened to her in the last post. -Autumn: She generally distrusts Epics, but she's got a very long fuse. Attributes: -Frostfire: Arrogant and quick to anger -Glamour: Self-centered and ignores others -Orange Crush: Narcissistic and smug -Redlight: ...I think she sort of enjoys hurting people emotionally, but overall she's pretty honest -Arsenal: Angry, overbearing, and domineering -Scribbler: ... self-righteous? -Shiny Sparkle: Doesn't know when to stop. Always interested in sex. -Edgerunner: Eh. -Deathwish: Do I even need to say it? -Ozymandias: He's annoying, plain and simple -Elsa: Being dead. -Autumn: Aw, who am I kidding? Autumn doesn't have any aggravating traits. Other: -The Paladin Squad: I'm not sure how they fit into everything. Same with Ari, the vanilla, and the Dragon -Quicksilver and co.: Do they still even do stuff? So I think that for plain, 1-1 trigger/attribute matchups, we have: -Ozymandias on Frostfire -Shiny Sparkle on Orange Crush/Arsenal -Glamour on Deathwish(?) Not sure about Deathwish's trigger, plus they'd already know each other. Anything I forgot? (Oh yeah, Vapor Snake. I assume he'll be spending time with Autumn, though.)

Since we'll get done with Day One in The Dalles soon, it'd make most sense to introduce him in the in-game morning. I assume we'll be splitting up on missions to try and mop up the chaos of yesterday. Evacuating the two Epic-less towns, going on deep patrol to try and find out where the pandas are camped, setting up new fortifications, fixing the damage to the outer farms, etc. Seems like a decent way to start the day, and it would allow us to mix together characters with impunity.

Storms these are hard Glyphs to read.

I don't know about any of this "Mistborn" nonsense, but SA is, hands down, the best series Brandon has written so far. -

You were gone at the time, so I just wrote some in myself. She only speaks (to the contestants) at the very beginning. Tell me if you want to write it yourself, though. A voice boomed through the arena. That would be Olivia. "Alright, folks, let's get started! On the bottom of the sphere is our town's most famous Jell-O aficionado, Mouldbreaker! On the... other bottom, is the up-and-coming vanilla challenger, Alexio Maximus!" Mouldbreaker noted the name. "Obviously, the arena is endowed with Earth-gravity at the edges. Both contestants have had their powersets switched to enhanced strength and durability, and will be leading a group of heroic soldiers into..." She lowered her voice menacingly. "...mortal, hand-to-hand combat, to the DEATH!" Sure enough, a group of unarmed soldiers popped into existence around him. The speaker blipped back on. "Oh, um, yes," Olivia said quickly, "victory is achieved when the enemy Team Leader is dead or incapacitated in a way approved by our beloved leader. Have a nice fight!"

SPOILERS! ---Does Kaladin like Shallan, and Vice Versa?---
Mckeedee123 replied to ChullRider's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yes. Absolutely yes. Kaladin and Shallan are into each other like peanut butter is into jelly. Like the washing machine is into the dryer. Like Ipods are into Ipads. Like Jam is into Pam. Like Idris is into Hallandren. Like Saruman is into Sauron. Like Stormtroopers are into Darth Vader. Like pencils are into notebooks. Like blankets are into pillows. Like 17th Sharders are into Hoid. Like Cultivation is into Honor. Like Samurai are into ninjas. Like suits are into coat hangars. Like dwarves are into axes. Like Japan is into anime. Like lightswitches are into lightbulbs. Like turkeys are into Thanksgiving. Like, um... what was I doing again? Oh yeah. I don't always ship. But when I do, I ship Shalladin -
Who knew there was so much Dwarf Fortress Fanart?

How'd they end up overwhelming a small village anyway? In my experience, all it takes to kill an army of Kobolds is a dwarven peasant. Forgotten Beasts, burning-catapult riots, and sock shortages are another matter entirely...

In a stunning ironic twist on this morning's conversation, I just ate myself sick at Golden Corral.

Regret? What regret? You just a bunch of ice cream! That tends to put me on Cloud Nine for a few days at least.

Salem is a tiny thread, so it shouldn't be too difficult to read through.

I just think the idea is fun. If someone were to do a Reckoners Batman/Arrow they'd need cool gadgets, and I think the powerset is weak enough that he wouldn't be too affected by the corruption.

Alright. I just ran a 5k, and I've given these guys some more thought. (I have an annoying habit of hijacking new guys' Epics, so don't mind me. I'm just trying to get this out of my system, I guess. Where do you think the first/first+second guy would go, if implemented? He doesn't have a reason to be in Salem. Corvallis already has 2 Epics that have the same sort of "omnipotent observation" power. He'd get torn apart in Astoria. The other 2 threads are closed to new Epics... As for the vanilla guy, what do you think of having him be like Batman? He could be allied with an Epic named Q, who's sort of a semi-technopath. The Epic instinctively knows how to assemble small gadgets from the requisite parts, and can build them with extra speed and dexterity. That way, the vanilla could have piton guns and stun grenades and stuff.

Woah, hold up! Upvote factory? You don't get upvotes around here unless you write a long post, say something funny, mention MLP, post a picture of a pug... The first is pretty creative and not OP. The only (problem?) with implementing him, like Edge said, is that he'd probably have posted pictures of himself everywhere already, so he'd have to be a new arrival. What if the vanilla guy had a friend who had powers like Arsenal?

I think he left about the same time that Kobold started chiding him (pretty nicely) on the Sanderson Memes thread. It's possible that he felt sort of unwelcome after that. From what I've seen, most of us actually do have some sort of experience with Pokemon, so I don't think that's too big of a problem. (I went to a family reunion Wednesday last week, and I still haven't gotten my laptop back from being repaired [it was having some weird problems] and the family whose house I'm staying at has 1 computer, 8 kids who want to use that computer that I don't want to impose on, and a pretty stringent internet filter, all of which limit my access to this subforum considerably. That's why I haven't been around. I guess Maill was the only person who needed me, though.) In the meantime, I've been playing lots of Axis and Allies and made some nice string art, I guess.

That is the prevailing explanation for that rattle, currently. Personally, though, I disagree. There's no "twist" to it when you interpret it that way. No wordplay, no logical leap required to understand it. The 2 rattles that we're pretty sure we know all had a sort of deliberate vagueness. The gems in the Parshendi beards were a "feast that clings to their faces, the gemheart was simply referred to as "a heart in their hands," etc. Each separate phrase in these things is distinct and important. "All is withdrawn for me" likely has some semi-literal meaning. So does "the storm responds" (I think it refers to the Stormfather, whom Dalinar is bonded with and might become a Shardblade despite what he said at the end of WoR.) The most important phrase is "the one who killed my promises." That sounds like a dead ringer for Radiant Oaths.

I think we need a "Pertinent Information of Oregon" thread to hold all of our compiled info and maps. It does no good to state this stuff in the Questions threads when it's just going to get lost again in a few days.
