  1. We could be overthinking it... OR we could be underthinking it! This is clearly evidence that Yolish magic allows Hoid to sprout new limbs when he needs them.
  2. Yeah. But I tried to make it very forgivable for the Reckoners not to know about Chaos. After all, he lives in the middle of the ocean on an island that didn't used to exist.
  3. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Also, as of this moment I am officially announcing that I don't suspect Wilson! I wonder if the eliminators are trying to slowly build distrust of her, without directly pointing fingers. But then again, the times I have been an eliminator I was never that subtle. So maybe people really are just that wary of her. I know I was, during the Wheel of Time game. But she's just so darn nice!
  4. Yes, he can. If he kills an epic with two active powers, he gets both powers. Two powers that came together can't be split up. They have to be held by the same Chaos. Also, if multiple Chaoses chose to give their powers to one Chaos, it could hold multiple powers. No, Planeshift can still use his dimension powers even when his weakness is activated, it's just that it is very dangerous for him, since his bones are so weak. Thanks! I kind of broke the "show, don't tell" rule, but they needed exposition. Future posts will have them doing stuff besides standing around. I promise.
  5. First Planeshift post is up! Woohoo!
  6. Planeshift was dripping wet. Where was he? How did he get here? It looked like he was on the outskirts of a town. He looked to his left. A portly woman with a buzz cut stood there with a confused look on her face. Memori. Friend. Sheep noises. Planeshift looked to his right. A bald Asian man was sitting on a rock. Current Event. Friend. Blood oxygen. Current Event's face was pale and there was blood on his leg, but whatever wound had caused his condition had been wrapped, apparently by the same ratty fabric that the three of them were all wearing. Planeshift looked down. The bottom half of his shirt had been cut off. Memori spoke up first. "What's going on?" "Well now," said Current Event with a hint of an accent, "Because of what you did, none of us really know, do we?" "What's that supposed to mean?" Planeshift said. "She let her fears get the better of her, man. Apparently, we are supposed to be doing something very important, but she was too afraid that some Reader guy would find out." "Hold up," said Memori, "My memories only go back to a moment ago, right before I said 'what's going on'. Could you please start from the beginning?" Current Event pointed north to a wide river. "I can only remember the last twenty minutes. I was controlling the currents to push us up that river when a stray arrow fell out of the sky and hit me in the arm. Planeshift, you said we needed to stop and wrap my arm, and that we could drive 'the rest of the way', whatever that means. Memori went to investigate. She said the town was under attack from pandas, that it's called Dalles, and that she remembers hearing about a telepath named Reader who lives here. I guess she knows a lot about telepaths. Then she wiped most of our memories so Reader wouldn't be able to figure out our plan. She said that our memories would come back once we get on the road." "Which road?" Planeshift asked. "No clue." said Current Event. "That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard!" said Memori. "I can wipe people's memories? There are pandas attacking a town?" "Well since you probably only remember hearing a few dozen things, it doesn't really have much competition." said Current Event. He was trying to act confident, probably because he was the only one who could remember much of anything, but from pale face it was clear that he too was shaken. Or maybe that was just the blood loss. Planeshift walked over to Current Event and offered him a hand. The man accepted it, and groaned as he stood up. "Memori, help support Current Event," said Planeshift. "Your powers are mental, so you don't need your hands to be free. I can't remember if I have any combat training, but since we can still walk, I know she didn't wipe our muscle memory. I have a feeling that if I start punching stuff, it will come back to me. Since the town is under siege, the pandas will have destroyed any means of transportation they could get their paws on. That means the only working cars will be in the town. We need to go in and find something fast, with gravitonics. It's going to take more than grandma's jalopy to get past a blockade of intelligent bears. Since we came up the river, we need to drive that way." He pointed east. "Hold up." said Memori, "How do we know you're supposed to be in charge?" "Because you chose to leave me one memory," said Planeshift, "and it was our weaknesses."
  7. True. Ok, I'll work about thinking of a better consequence for his weakness. Oh, so there is. Voila! hidden. Well, I think I'll start working on a post for the Fugitives in the Dalles.
  8. Or maybe every time his weakness is activated, his newest duplicate of himself dies. Sort of like how everyone says "I don't believe in fairies" a fairy dies, every time Chaos hears someone say "Tina, you fatlard, come get some ham!" a Chaos dies. Actually I was considering having a minor epic called Movie Quote on Order who could only speak in movie quotes, until one day, a Chaos finally lost his crem and killed him. Then he realized that it was actually an active power, but it's weakness was that he could never stop using it until somebody got so annoyed they killed him. It was a wonder that Movie Quote survived that long. So then Chaos Movie Quote would end up killing himself so that the power would die, because he thought it was so annoying. I never intended on actually including it. However, if the quote was something from Napoleon Dynamite and somebody saw it, it could be useful. It wouldn't have been one of the three fugitives though. That would just be too convenient.
  9. I love these ideas, especially the Napoleon Dynamite one. What should happen to Chaos when his weakness is activated? Chaos can't steal passive powers at all. So he can't become invincible. No, Planeshift wouldn't return to his normal size. Current Event can control, create, and increase water currents. But they have to be currents within the water. So it's not like he could carry a floating stream of water around with him, floating in the air. But if his enemies are swimming, Current Event could create am undertoe or a rip tide to try and drown them. The latter. It's useful for interrogations. Or for making Tektonix remember how much he trusts Planeshift, but forget how Planeshift convinced Tektonix to never use his powers. I haven't figured out what a good number of Chaoses would be. It needs to be formiddable, but fightable. And the Fugitives are going to convince Tektonix to move Order and bring it to Astoria. Sorry if I have typos. I'm typing this from my phone.
  10. And Blastaway is meant to be a Jerkchull Woobie. Ok so I already mentioned this to TwiLyght and Edgedancer, but I had this idea for the Astoria thread. Basically, there's this super-powerful epic who lives on an island, and he takes other epics as prisoners. Some of those prisoners escaped, but they know they are too weak to fight him themselves, so they figure out a way to bring him to Astoria so the other epics will be forced to fight him. Here are the details: Chaos Order, Chaos's island home The Servants' Rebellion (This is backstory) Fugitives from Order: Planeshift Current Event: He follows Planeshift. He can control currents. His ability allowed them to escape Order. Memori: She follows Planeshift. Limited telepath. She can temporarily give people selective memory. She is terrified of other telepaths. The plan: So what do you think? I was thinking of having the Fugitives scurry through the Dalles, then having at least one of them escape in a car up the 84, then return for the Astoria thread. I am open to all suggestions, especially for a good weakness for Chaos. He's supposed to be powerful, but even though he has no invincibility, I think he might still need to be nerfed a little bit.
  11. Also, I'm digging the fact that Sightline has read Schlock Mercenary.

  12. Lightwards has the best lines. To Nighthound: "I see you're determined to violate the civil rights of every woman in Oregon" hahahaha

  13. So is one darkeyes guaranteed to get a shardblade in the upcoming battle? Sorry I haven't been so helpful with the strategizing and stuff. I had a lot to catch up to and I... skimmed it. So I don't deeply, truly understand what's going on. But in my defense, both times I have played a large part in the strategy, I only ended up helping the eliminators. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I should do, or should I just wait continue to lie low and wait for a balderdash to fall in my lap?
  14. I can live with that. Completely reflective face but with normal black pupils might actually look even cooler than smooth reflective eyes. I think this actually means that a smart Epic could figure out that by attacking Lillian's eyes and causing them to go reflective, they would momentarily blind her.
  15. Every possible visible part of her his reflective (even the underside of her eyelids), so it would bounce around inside her mouth. If it went down her throat it would kill her. Actually, that is really awesome. I like that a lot. So the power only activates as it is needed. (I do still want to keep the reflective appearance though, just because it looks cool)
  16. 4) I thought of a solution. She doesn't live in Astoria. Her house is secluded, outside of town. When the guilt becomes too much for her and she needs a fight, she drives to a different town because the epics are too powerful in Astoria. The only reason she hasn't moved farther away is that it would be very difficult to move Bobby. Yeah, but that would make it an active power. That's not what I want for her.
  17. Hmm...... possibly, but not probably. 2) Of course. I agree. 3) I appreciate all of your suggestions! 4) Yeah but the idea is that she is really good at what she does. Being sneaky and covering her tracks, and also choosing not to fight someone who a High Epic would care about aren't things that Calamity gave her. She's just clever. Yeah. This power is so impossible that it breaks down in all sorts of ways upon close inspection. How can she see if her eyes are reflective? If she doesn't feel the force of things touching her, does that mean that her body has no pressure on it? It pains my perfectionist soul to do this, but let's just say that she can walk, hear, see, and not die from explosive decompression through the power of Handwavium. Don't worry too much about her being overpowered. I'm planning on having Bobby escape very early on. From then it's just a matter of time until he steps on a crack.
  18. 1) She's essentially a mirror. 2) Corpsemaker's attack relies on sight. She's reflective. So if he tried to use his basilisk attack on her, he would be looking himself in the mirror. However, her interior is vulnerable. Swallowing a bomb, or even poison, would kill her. 3) Every time her son steps on a crack, her reflective layer will fracture a little bit more, starting from her back. It takes seven years from the event for these cracks to heal. Bobby doesn't have to be alive for this weakness to work. If somebody cut off his leg, then touched his foot, or the skeleton of his foot, or the dust left behind by the immolation of his foot to a crack in the ground, it would activate Lillian's weakness. 4) She hasn't gone up against any High Epics yet. She spent those seven years laying low, only picking fights she knew she could win. Now that she has finally completely healed, she's ready to take some names. Also, nobody knows about Bobby. Anyone who knew the Razors pre-Calamity assumes that Bobby is dead. Edit: Here is Lillian's icon: And here is Blastaway's icon:
  19. Crying because I can't choose "Yes" and "Pizza"
  20. Here are the questions I am going to ask him: Is the worldhopping kandra MeLaan? Is the worldhopping kandra disguised as a human woman? I think I could ask one more without being annoying. Any requests?
  21. I think my epics belong in Astoria. A fight between Lucentia and Lillian Razor would be shiny enough to make Funtimes cry.
  22. Lillian wears thin, but modest clothes. Any thick costumes would slow down things that were hitting her, making her reflections less powerful. The first time Blastaway died, he was wearing jeans and a t-shirt, along with a black cape. Every time he resurrects, those clothes resurrect with him. He has since decided that the cape is a little bit too much, so he takes it off soon after he resurrects. But just like his bad attitude, it keeps coming back to him. Lillian reflects any impact. Even a high-five would be reflected. She does have the ability to turn off this power selectively, but only subconsciously. So she doesn't constantly create craters when she walks, and she has the ability to comb her hair without needing an invincible brush. However, she can't turn off the reflection on purpose. (She wore a bullet-proof vest while her back was healing, but now that it is better, she chooses not to. It impairs her ability to reflect bullets.) Blastaway can't control his explosions precisely, but he does control how large they are. If he explodes immediately, it's likely to kill anyone who was standing right next to him and give burns to those who were standing at the edge of the room. If he charges up for several minutes, he could take out a whole building. That's the upper limit of his power. He couldn't charge for three weeks, then blow up the entire state. He's not that OP. I don't object to ponification! It would be difficult to make a picture of something reflective though. Hmm... maybe if it could hack webcams...
  23. Awesome, thanks! I'll post the bios for two of my epics. I have others in the back of my mind, but they aren't as rounded out yet. Lillian Razor, Epic Hunter Blastaway, Agent of Chaos.
  24. I would like to join the Oregon RP eventually, if that's ok. However, I'm very far behind. I've only read up to Aug 22. So it would be a long time before I joined. Are you guys alright with someone joining in after the story has already been running for months and months? If it's already too crowded and you prefer I don't join, that's fine.
  25. It had been a long, uneventful day of travel, but Newan was finally here and enrolled in the Blackthorn's army. He stopped in to say hi to his squad, but then left. They seemed to be talking about something important, but Newan was exhausted and didn't want to get into a heavy discussion right now. The drive from San Diego back to Provo was twelve hours long. I'll say something useful tomorrow.
